Arely French Bakery Cafe

Based on multiple visits.Cafe and bakery with great food and nice staff.Ive come here for quick pastry pick up for breakfast, sit down breakfast/lunch/dinner, phone in take out meal ordering, take out for pastries/desserts/meals. They also do online order for pickup, custom cake orders and catering but I havent used this part of their services.Ive tried most pastries, and theyre all pretty good, but the muffins and chocolate chip cookies were not as tasty to me (Im not a muffin person, but SO gets them a lot here). Im partial to their fruit tarts, palmiers, chocolate mousse and creme brulee. They do have macarons, havent tried them yet. They also have some seasonal pastries, so its worth it to check back every so often. As far as regular food/meals, Ive had a bit of each category, and I havent eaten anything I wouldnt order again. I do order these more often though: arleys scramble, chicken florentine crepe, french onion soup, croque madame, blackened salmon salad, angel hair capellini with shrimp.Service time is reasonable for a small cafe style place with food that rivals many larger restaurants, it does take longer on weekends when theyre busy during typical brunch time hours. Early morning, mid afternoon, or evening hours are more quiet, and feels much more relaxed like a coffee shop or cafe. Either way, if you plan to order food from the kitchen, give yourself some extra time.July 2019: I noticed the consistency on food prep/plating has wavered a bit over the past months, based on multiple orders of same two things (arelys scramble and plain croissant) but no change in taste (still delicious). Croissants have sometimes had extra egg wash such that it pooled at the base of the croissant, then cooked and stuck to the pastry. Arelys scramble has had slight differences in the coverage of hollandaise and doneness of the toasted english muffins.

Was excited to come here for brunch but customer service changed that feeling. Showed up for the first time with 3 other people and was told we can look at the restaurant style menus to see what we wanted. We walked over to an empty table since you have to order at the counter and wanted to see what to get. With many options on the menu it would have been great to take some time to see what would be best to get. Immediately after we sat down though we were promptly told by a male employee that we can't reserve tables, that it's a house rule and we need to order first. We walked to the counter, waited behind one person, placed our order and then walked back the same spot we were at before. I'm confused on what this place wants to be…. Do they want to be a quick place to eat or a sit down location. I could see if it's very busy but there were a bit of seats available inside as well as outside. It just seems that common sense was not used in this interaction.Regarding the food, I decided to get the Avocado toast and it was fine. Was a little pricy for one slice(decent size) toast with tomatoes on top of the avocado.Overall I don't plan on coming back because I'm not sure what this place is trying to be and there are other breakfast/brunch options that are either cheaper, or similar price with a more streamlined experience.

The atmosphere of this store is quiet and somber. The seats and tables are naturally made of high quality materials. You can buy everyday and unique Japanese bakery items including boba tea. I ordered strawberry danish, melon bread, and curry bread, and they were perfect! (although I didnt mind the melon bread pattern (#)).On top of that, the staff is very friendly (my job is from the government DEIA, so I wonder if there are more black and older people working here). When I spoke to him, the Japanese staff member explained the Nagoya origin of the restaurant and informed me about the omakase sushi restaurant and Demon Slayer-style bar next door. He was quite kind. I would definitely come back with friends. The atmosphere of this shop is both quiet and trendy. The seats and tables utilize natural and high quality materials. Traditional and unique Japanese bakery items also include boba tea. I ordered a strawberry danish, melon bread and curry bread; it was perfect! ( though I didnt notice the usual melon bread pattern (#))On top of that the staff was really nice and helpful (As my job is a government diversity specialist, I do wonder about the number black and elderly employees). I spoke with a Japanese employee who explained to me the stores Nagoya origin and that there is also a makass sushi restaurant and Demon Slayer-styled bar on the side She was very kind. Ill definitely visit again with my friends.

NOT A FAN ?. The second to last time I went there, which was before the pandemic, I bought their full sized mango cake. That was disappointing, the mango cream was too sweet and the cake you can taste as obviously dry, but it was a interesting experience picking up the bread like a buffet. I went to go pick up a full sized mothers day sweet strawberry cream yesterday. They didnt have option to order online, so I ordered the cake on the phone they didnt ask for my email to sent the receipt, they asked my phone number but still didnt send me the receipt. I wish they had a separate entrance or like a smaller line for those who ordered ahead but no everyone stood in the same line, of ten or more people, what is the point of me waiting again of I ordered ahead? When I got in The staff were pretty rude two people asked me If I had a receipt twice, even after I explained twice to each of them how I ordered a cake with them, paid for it on the phone, and they didnt send me a receipt. They had a really annoyed look on their face, I had a reservation that was 30 minutes away until I stood in a 20 minute line I asked them Hey, can you hurry up? I have a reservation in like 10 minutes, They finally dragged themselves into the back and indeed they found my cake with a paid sign on it, and they asked if it was my name, and it was. The end result I missed my lunch reservation and the restraunt was overbooked for the day. I had to find another restraunt which wasnt overbooked since every where we went yesterday all the restraunts were overbooked, when I got there I finally noticed, I asked the 85° Degrees Bakery people, to add in a extra white chocolate piece that says Happy 18th mothers day on top of the cake, instead they shoved it to the side on a plastic bag instead of putting it on the cake where it would be melted since it would shared the cakes coldness. So at the end of the day they made me pay $33 for a drier than hell cake, which was packed with over sweetness, and chocolate piece that was super closed to melting If I hadnt noticed. I literally threw up for twenty minutes after eating only two bites of the cake. Oh ya, the whipped cream? That tasted like blobs of air, no sweetness just white blobs of air. Anyways, I am seriously disappointed and you better believe I am not coming back! ????.

The founder of 85°C Bakery Cafe, Cheng Hsueh Wu, wanted to provide high quality coffee, bread, and cake at an affordable price and I have to say, he doesn't disappoint. 85°C is a wonderful bakery considering the comforting atmosphere, pleasing customer service, and delicious confections. I visited this location back in June 2018, and it was great weather to enjoy an Iced Hazelnut Latte with a Mangotale while sitting under the umbrella covered tables outside the cafe. My all time favorite bread would be the Brioche because of the soft, fluffy texture and light sweetness; but I like to try something different every time I stop by. The best time to visit is in the midmorning so that you can avoid the traffic but also enjoy fresh bread since the chefs bring a new batch out the kitchen routinely. The only down side to this is you might miss out on a particular product or have to wait for the new batch to finish baking. The staff are very accommodating; once when I went in with my two children to grab a big order, they offered to hold onto my box while I took my kids to the restroom and even ask if I needed help bringing it to my car. I definitely make it a priority to stop by here whenever Im in the area. I hope that this review helps and that you have a great experience at this bakery like I did.

I have been here a few times and I recently just brought my father there after he traveled out of town for Thanksgiving to visit my sister. So on my way back from the airport we decided on this place because he enjoys fresh bread and hes very health conscious. We had some German rye and they were nice enough to slice it as well as a few cinnamon rolls with raisins. The part I wanted to emphasize about my experience there was I inadvertently and to be quite honest moronically left my billfold that lookrd like a CD case over by the coffee preparation area. I say moronically because I had left quite a bit of cash in there by accident along with the menu of course because I wanted to bring a menu home. I do not recall the ladys name but the person I talked to on the phone had a very pleasant Spanish accent and when I inquired about whether or not I left my billfold in their establishment this wonderful human was very kind and asked me what was in there and I frankly said well just cash and she says oh yes its here and everything is still in it. I said great I will be back in about 30 minutes. I came back and I was happy to find that she was absolutely right everything was still in there and so I was happy to give them at the very least a $25 tip in their tip jar just because of the honesty and Goodwill that they extended. So Im giving them five stars and more if I could. This place has always been a wonderful place to get fresh breads and sandwiches and what my dad liked about the place was that you can get half a sandwich instead of a whole one. Because he watches his diet and he tries to stay healthy at 72 he sometimes doesnt want to eat a whole entire sandwich or to pay for a whole entire Sandwich price. This is one of the very few places that you can get a fresh sandwich and a half a sandwich for a decent price. I highly recommend this place and I will absolutely be coming back as many times as I can as well as always leaving a big tip in their tip jar. Moreover I wanted to extend my sincerest gratitude to this lovely lady as well as the staff for their honesty. I will definitely be coming back here every time Im in the area

Love the pastries and boba! Today though, I was just displeased with customer-to-cashier interaction at around 2:45 pm. I asked for Milk Tea (without checking the entire menu because I already knew what to order), and then proceeded with light ice, boba, and whipped cream but w/ the sea salt kind if you have it. First, the cashier said non-verbatim, oh you mean the Boba Milk Tea? because what you said is so much and to simplify, in like a very condescending manner. I was confused because why would they put Boba Milk Tea (when I found out there was Boba Milk Tea not right next to the Milk Tea as well as in the add-ons section of the menu there was boba so I said what I felt was logical based on what I saw on the menu). Second, I asked for whipped cream (because that was on the add-ons section) but do you have something with sea salt? and he said non-verbatim, oh we do have Sea-salt cream cheese and sea salt something, and I said, ok ill get the cream crease kind, and he still asked, its not whipped cream though. Like dont they get it right away ?. And lastly, he asked where I wanted my sea-salt but should be understood since I ordered it as an add-on on a single drink, and the way the menu is set up is in like a two-part V-shape around a wall and I glanced at the others on the menu when I was on the cashier, and there were drinks with sea-salt but sea-salt was an option based on the cashier tell me **it was implicitly** by asking me questions, and it wasnt on the add-ons section on the menu as well ? I dont know, but during this very warm weather I just wanted to get my drink and enjoy having a refreshment myself, but it made my experience with the product and my afternoon uncomfortable ?
Lofty Coffee Little Italy Cafe and Bakery

Coffee fact: While Brazil may grow the most coffee, Finland drinks the most coffee!A New Orleans Iced Coffee ($6.60, 2% Milk), an Iced Hibiscus Blood Orange drink ($4.00), two Lemon GF cookie ($4.50 ea.), and three Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($4.00 ea.) were order. I was going to see my niece later that evening and she was going to be given a salted chocolate cookie and one of the lemon cookies but Im a terrible aunt and really liked the salted chocolate cookie so I kept all three for myself. ;)They have a window area to see into the kitchen if youre interested in watching them make their baked goods. I will admit that the drinks werent it though. The New Orleans Iced Coffee tasted watery and the Iced Hibiscus Blood Orange drink wasnt balanced with it leaning more towards hibiscus than blood orange. Oh well. You can tell this is a well-loved spot in the neighborhood. There was even an adorable dollface Persian kitten sitting in the patio that looked as pleased as can be being outside Lofty Coffee Cafe and Bakery. Stop in, grab a cuppa, and enjoy a leisurely stroll down Little Italy.

San Diego Bakery randomly popped up on Yelp with one review from a few weeks ago but has pictures from a several months ago. Guess they moved or something? Idk.Anyways, I tried some pan and it was good! I found their pan to be comparable to pan from the better panaderias in town, and much better than the Mexican markets around. I didnt grow up eating it but my girlfriend did, and she said the same. Just make sure to transfer it to a plastic bag if youre not finishing it on the same day. That breakfast though.Ive tried some bolillos (huevos con tocino and huevos a la mexicana) and a burrito (huevos a la mexicana con asada) and they were all goooood, and also very fair in pricing. The bakery/torta shop I used to go to got pricy over the years, so Im so glad to have found this place. Although I havent tried the tortas from San Diego Bakery yet. Thats next! The licuado was also very good! Fruit is prepped fresh in front of you, and... drumroll...Its not too sweet!! (Which is really best Asian compliment, right?) I forgot to take a pic of the licuado menu but we tried the fresa, fresa con platano, and mango, and they were all super delicious. $6 each. The licuado and coffee menu also have Korean translations too, which I found pretty cool. Will definitely be coming back, and probably often!Oh also tacos after 5pm

Ive never written a negative review of a small business as I know how hard it is for them. But I have to write this review. I went this morning for the first time for a nice breakfast with my 77 year old Mother in Law with my Son who is home for the weekend from college and his girlfriend. We ordered inside at the counter, the pace was clean and looked really nice, food looked delicious. I paid for my order which was over 70 and I added a 20% tip ahead of time because I always try to tip well. We sat ourselves outside and waited. The first plate was brought out and the young woman who came out had such an attitude I almost thought maybe we did something but I hadnt seen her before. She was scowling, and heavily put the dish down angrily and stomped off. She was clearly not happy. It was bizarre. Then she came back with the rest, with the same attitude. We were polite and said thank you, we got no response from her at all to that. But before she took off again we asked if we could get some ketchup, tobasco and a little jam for Nanas toast You can go get it inside and Ill get you the ketchup from the back her eyes actually rolled when we asked for this. We have no problem grabbing our own, but we didnt know thats how that worked or where it was. I just cant believe how rude and annoyed her whole vibe was. It was really bad and we are nice friendly people. I get that maybe she was having a bad day, but it was so unnecessary to be so rude. She never came back to our table once after we got our food. Really too bad because the food was good and seems like a nice spot. Wish I could take my large tip back. I wont go back.
