Comment: Honestly want to love this spot and I do hope they continue in this location - the coffee is good. Every food item I have ordered on any given day has been mediocre at best and typically just not worth eating. From old salad to stale cinnamon rolls - everything seems kept past its good date. I’m really hoping something changes with whoever is prepping/cooking and deciding how long to keep things that should have been tossed. The staff is really great and they seem to be aware but not in control of food in the kitchen - meaning, whomever is running the kitchen is having the staff put out and serve food that should have been tossed. I don’t believe it used to be this way and hopefully a change is made in the kitchen. Stick to the coffee for now.

Comment: First off, the lady who works behind the counter is darling. You could not have picked a better person to run the front counter. I had the vegan scramble which was scrumptious. The cafe itself is lively, which little cafes typically are. If youre a loner like me, they have a nice little seating area towards the front where you can sit and look out on the patio. Very nice experience! Ill be back.

Comment: This was a perfect spot to have a one on one reunion with an ol friend that was central to both of us with our busy schedule. We didnt eat anything but we did have amazing coffee.The convince of its location made this reunion possible for usThe atmosphere was nice when we artived but quickly found the afternoon certainly brings a rush of customers and the atmosphere does a shift.Nothing negative. Just an awareness that our conversation went from low key speaking to wrapping it up so we werent competing with the customer chatter.We definitely will visit this business again and schedule our time accordingly. Maybe even include a meal. The convince of their location is a bonus!!!

Comment: Really made a last minute decision to come here because my husband and I were looking at some houses in the area.Such a lovely place. Really Aesthetic and cutesy and had a very creative manu as well!Servers were all super nice and sweet! Service was extremely quick and we were very very surprised by this! Not a lot of places have this; the food was even out in like 5 to 10 minutes.Turmeric Honey Latte - amazing! It came out nice and hot and tasted so good as well. Perfectly sweet and just that hint of turmeric and just a really nice coffee overall.Big Bad Wolf Panini - swapped out the ham and bacon for chicken breast(So it was chicken breast, salami, 3-cheese blend, apricot jam, jalapenos)Really good sandwich here! The accidentally Got the wrong order here; forgot the salami and the three cheese blend so I pointed it out to them. They were apologetic and came out with the correct version in literally under 5 minutes. Very quick service.Correct Panini was amazing! They forgot to Panini press the sandwich this time but we didnt ask for that again. Chicken and salami and apricot jam and jalapenos, everything went well together. Perfect blend of sweet, spicy and salty.I had half the sandwich and my husband had the other, my half did feel a little too greasy for some reason.Nutmeg Scramble - Got this with egg whites instead. A really good scramble but the portion size was quite small. Actually very small! Asked for the side salad instead of fries and to be honest we expected more salad quantity for having paid $3. I think this was the only downside of the place.

Comment: What has happened? I used to love this eatery. This weekends visit was so disappointing. We are a family of 5 and our meals came out 1 at a time with 5-10 break between each delivery. The eggs were not cooked thoroughly and placed on top of what used to be the best potatoes in poway and are now sloppy and under seasoned. The tables outside were disorganized and ugly and the water was warm. The biscuits were also not available this weekend and that was not disclosed when ordering.

Comment: Updated Review - We came here to try Guy Fieri’s recommend dish on Diners Drive-Ins Dives, which is La Havana. My husband ordered that and I had the Egg Benedict. Both dishes are delicious but we preferred the egg Benedict more. The poached eggs are cooked perfectly. The home made English muffins are so delicious and the hollandaise sauce is super good. I definitely recommend that. The La Havana is fine but it’s really heavy taste, too flavorful. If you have a heavy taste you might like that.Previous review- It’s a super cute bakery and breakfast place! I love the decorations and atmosphere here. All the pastries look so fresh and yummy, we ordered a chocolate croissant and a coconut rum cake, which were both really great. The house coffee is warm and nice too. I’m definitely coming back for more pastries and breakfast meals. By the way, the service is super amazing, so friendly and sweet.

Comment: Not really familiar with the area, but dropped my sister off at Sharps here, and decided to find a nearby coffee shop! So thankful I didn’t have to settle for Starbucks!! This place is charming and the staff super friendly! I got the regular house coffee and as much as I shouldn’t have, a blueberry lemon scone! The coffee is great, and one bite into the scone, I think it going to be a great day!! I highly recommend this if you’re in the area!!

Comment: This place is definitely a hit or miss. If you come when they are busy, always a miss. I ordered avocado toast and the kale caesar salad online and was told to come back in 30 minutes because they were busy, so I came back in 30 minutes and my salad was soggy, avocado toast literally had maybe a sliver of avocado on it just in very middle, and everything was cold. Definitely was a waste of money on this trip. I might come back and give it a try again, but only when its not busy at all because thats the only time my food and service was decent.

Comment: I worked next to this cute little bakery/cafe and I loved coming here on breaks/lunches to grab a coffee. Their breakfast items are delicious, Ive only had a few things. The coffee has always been wonderful and flavorful. This Cafe has gorgeous pastel colors with the accent of plants to bring a little contrast. They even have a section of the cafe where they sell handcrafted items, very cool. The staff are attentive and are super friendly. All around great cafe to come to. Dont be afraid to try something new!

Comment: Ive never written a negative review of a small business as I know how hard it is for them. But I have to write this review. I went this morning for the first time for a nice breakfast with my 77 year old Mother in Law with my Son who is home for the weekend from college and his girlfriend. We ordered inside at the counter, the pace was clean and looked really nice, food looked delicious. I paid for my order which was over 70 and I added a 20% tip ahead of time because I always try to tip well. We sat ourselves outside and waited. The first plate was brought out and the young woman who came out had such an attitude I almost thought maybe we did something but I hadnt seen her before. She was scowling, and heavily put the dish down angrily and stomped off. She was clearly not happy. It was bizarre. Then she came back with the rest, with the same attitude. We were polite and said thank you, we got no response from her at all to that. But before she took off again we asked if we could get some ketchup, tobasco and a little jam for Nanas toast You can go get it inside and Ill get you the ketchup from the back her eyes actually rolled when we asked for this. We have no problem grabbing our own, but we didnt know thats how that worked or where it was. I just cant believe how rude and annoyed her whole vibe was. It was really bad and we are nice friendly people. I get that maybe she was having a bad day, but it was so unnecessary to be so rude. She never came back to our table once after we got our food. Really too bad because the food was good and seems like a nice spot. Wish I could take my large tip back. I wont go back.

I wanted to treat my son with yummy stuff as he was having a bad day, and I got very disappointed with their service… unfortunately they took so long to warm up the cinnamon roll “and it was not warmed up enough! hard and cold from inside”, and the pineapple cold drink was all water with a bit of pineapple sweetened flavour!

Comment: I hate eating such a low rating for a local restaurant, but disappointed today. I come out of my way to still visit here because I used to love it, but it’s gone downhill in their customer service. I purchased a 2 egg breakfast via the online ordering which states it comes with eggs, home fries, bacon, fruit and toast. When I arrived there were no home fries, which I assumed was just an oversight, so nicely asked about it to have the employee argue with me that it’s no longer offered with home fries and if I want that I can add that on. $15 after tax and tip for scrambled eggs, a slice of bacon, a piece of honeydew and hard toast? No thanks. Honestly not even a big deal if the potatoes are an add on now, but don’t market and charge for one thing, serve another, and then argue with the guest when they nicely bring it up.

Uber dry biscuits, questionable sauce on the eggs, & ham (?)... To solve that mystery, inquire at Nutmeg. What an incredible disappointment. BTW, the pork substitute was seasonless, dry (of course), inedible, boiled (?) chicken. Save yourself the trip...😝

It is a shame that they deliver quality food with a smile but fall dead short when a small, cheap fix, keeps a customer coming back. After paying $84 for a 4 person breakfast, they were asked to replace 2 pieces hard bacon with 2 softer ones. A different girl comes out to our table with a wireless card reader and explains that they are going to charge us another $2 for new bacon and that we were fully at fault for not thinking of this when ordering( mind you there were so any questions about every little thing concerning our order). Fair enough. It was our mistake. Really, were talking about $2 here. Not exactly a fortune in pork belly. When any savvy restaurateur compares (maybe) a $0.50 order of bacon to killing a customer relationship where the bill exceeds $75 for breakfast? This should be a no-brainer. Oh well. Not me,, never again.. Que sera sera.

Comment: Wow! The best breakfast I have had since moving to California. Their quiche and salad was perfection. Both were seasoned perfectly. The salad had a wonderful soft cheese and was dressed perfectly. The lavender mocha was delicate and delicious. Perfectly floral and lightly sweetened. Yum! Also very sweet and sincere staff. I will be back.

Comment: Very expensive, they didnt have paper in their credit card machine so couldnt give receipts which was unacceptable. To get coffee refill was a real mission even though I was charged over $3 for a black regular coffee, complete rip off.

Comment: Amazing coffee!I had their cappuccino, it had a lil bitterness but at the same time it had smooth texture. I normally add 1 sugar, but here I was able to drink cappuccino without any sugar.Tried Turmeric latte too, it was good.Staff are friendly, prices on par with Starbucks but the taste was way better.Will have to go back to try their sandwiches!

Comment: I like the food which has vegetarian options. The staff here is always friendly and cheerful. However I’ve found hair in my food on 3 separate occasions here. The last time this happened, I brought it to their attention and asked for my food to be remade. Instead of remaking it, they simply took it to the back, pulled out the long hair, and rewarmed the SAME FOOD. When my food came back, it was dry, burned, and in so many pieces. I couldn’t eat it. This place is close to my house and has healthy vegetarian options and breakfast options that my kids like, so I really wanted to like it. When they re-warmed my same food which had hair in it, and served it back to me dry and burned, this is why I won’t be coming back. I wish they would have just remade my food fresh. Nobody deserves to eat food with other people hair in it, or be served the same contaminated food but worse-burned and dry.

Enjoyed the outdoor seating while it lasted but will be happy with to-go for now until outdoor seating is once again permitted. Staff are super friendly and I highly recommend this gem of a place!

Comment: Avoid this place at all costs. They try and rip you off by sneaking in almost $1 extra charge for a little side of organic milk and dont even accept cash. Most staff seems nice but girl at register seemed entitled and rude. Maybe make her wash dishes instead of interacting with customers. Hopefully this place will go out of business and a real customer friendly restaurant/coffee place step in and take over. Major Ripoff.

Comment: Incredibly slow service. Staff seem nice but flustered. Asked for some cold milk instead of creamer to add to my $3 coffee and was told there would be an extra charge because its organic. Im not aware of any other major coffee store that charges for a little bit of cold milk to add to coffee. Food was average at best. First and last time ever eating here.

Comment: Tried the honey latte and a Snickerdoodle cookie. The latte was okay, tasted like a lot of milk. My son loved the warmed up Snickerdoodle, I could only sneak in a couple of bites. We sat outside and it was nice and quiet since the place next door is closed on Sundays.
