Savoy Cafe & Deli

ProsGood, fresh food with lots of vegan and vegetarian optionsYou can try before you buyYummyFamily ownedGreat aestheticYummy matcha latteConsA little on the pricier side but I don't mind thatParkingThey keep messing up my order. (Details below)The first time was with a group of friends and they forgot to bring out my order. Thankfully I had my receipt to prove I had in fact paid for it and they rectified the situation speedily.During that visit I fell in love with a side of the Blueberry Kale salad. I placed and paid for a bulk order for a few days later. It wasn't ready when I went in on my lunch break so I had to wait for them to prepare 6 individual salads. That wouldn't have been so bad, but instead of 6 salads they made me one giant one. So I had to wait some more for them to get the order right. I was late, hungry, and excited to eat it, but unfortunately it was disgusting. They doused it a different dressing from the one they normally pair with the Blueberry Kale Salad. It was inedible. I was super disappointed... forced myself to eat two and ended up tossing the rest.Today, I went in for another to go meal. I bought two vegan burritos with Ranchero salsa on the side. I left happy, got to my car... then realized the salsa was missing. I went back and was peeved because instead of telling me they were out they had just neglected to put it in the bag after charging me extra for it. After I asked, I was refunded the cost of the two sides.Normally I wouldn't care but these visits have been incredibly frustrating. Basically... Savoy... you are making it hard for me to love you.

BreeOsh Bakery Caf Santa Barbara
2700 De La Vina St, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, United States
Updating my review from 3 stars to 4 stars. Really like their bread. Their menu item and sweets are expensive and parking can be tough. Some meals are very nice, others only so-so. Ill stop in once in awhile and try differnt selections. Looking for the magic.,..........Am going against the grain here. The food is fresh and the coffee is good. My problem is their menu items. Last time I had an artichoke, goat cheese sandwich that was close to $15 once you add on tax. Felt like something from Trader Joes with those big canned pieces of artichoke, some salty olives, not quite ripe sparing slices of tomato and a small quick dab of goat cheese. The bread was the best part, the rest not so much. For a side you get some lettuce with a bit which I tried to stuff inside the sandwich. The whole thing falls apart. You can order this as a salad but even then it would be dull, unimatative and lacking in any but an oily olive flavor. At best Id expect to pay $7 or $8 and more realistically $6 or less. Its so tart and hard to eat Ill not order this again.Ive had a few other menu items, certainly edible, better than what I just attempted but overall not up to par, leaving me unsatisfied and annoyed. Would be perhaps acceptable if not so expensive. The food needs more flourish, better and more ingredients and more artistry in the creation, better flavor control to be worth their price tags, otherwise another shop would be a better choice unless your going in to buy some bread and youre already there and dont mind the stiff prices for what you get or if you opt for something else which might be better.

Lilac Ptisserie

I dont like giving negative reviews, especially for a place that caters to having an all GF menu (hallelujah ), but my experience here was not what I expected. I ordered a cake here for my sons first birthday. I originally asked if they could make the cake with no decoration on top. They said they could do that for me only to get a call 2 days later explaining that they couldnt. They also told me they could write Happy Birthday on the side, but never informed me that they couldnt before writing it on the top. I had planned on putting a couple of things on top and could no longer do so with the writing there. They said they could scrape it off but it would obviously ruin the top of the cake. All I got from the employee and manager was a Im sorry. No replacement cake, no discount, nothing. They ruined my plans for my sons first birthday cake. We continued to have lunch here trying to bypass the situation. We ordered 2 turkey club sandwiches. They were good, but they do not come with any sides other than a half of a strawberry and a slice of orange for $14. During lunch my husband noted they forgot to bring out the tart we ordered. When we informed the manager of this situation he apologized again and said it would be right out. At this point we asked him to just cancel the tart. We decided to just exchange it for a loaf of bread. We just wanted to get out of here. He said, well you will need to pay the difference. Really? I dont mind paying for great food and service, the food was good and the cake was great, but the service was sub par. Also make sure you look at what youre tipping after you order. For not much service you are suggested to tip 18-25%. I prefer to tip after I eat based off my service experience. Not before.

DAngelo Bread
25 W Gutierrez St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
Dangelos is an entity on its own!!!!! I read some of the other comments saying it's too expensive and I have to disagree!!!! This restaurant has chosen to keep their standards high and therefore yes has to have higher prices.Everything is organic and fresh....their teas are fresh pressed....that means real mint leaves and the finest loose leaf teas you can find.(Biltmore doesn't even serve fresh pressed teas anymore!) and they're baked goods areThe best in town. I can't understand how someone would compare them to Starbucks when Starbucks baked goods come out of a plastic bag and Dangelos is baked fresh every day. All I can think of is unsophisticated palate and low standards. Thank you Dangelos for being one of my favorite breakfast spots for so many years!!!! We love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Harbor House Inn
104 Bath St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
My fiance and I stayed at Harbor House Inn for the very first time and it was absolutely magical! The moment we checked in with Paul we were welcomed with his calming presence and magic via Cody! Both gentlemen were absolutely amazing. Paul was very easy going and Cody, whom I corresponded with via email, made our trip that much more magical.Harbor House Inn is clean and quaint. Its not quite a hotel, nor is it a motel. Its more like a cottage. :) However, they have the same amenities as a hotel! When we walked into the king unit which had a fireplace and kitchen, I was absolutely blown away by how cute it was! I exclaimed to my fiance, I could actually live here! LOLThe place was immaculate and buzzing with positive energy. The linens and towels are high quality too. I fell absolutely in love with the place and wished we had booked 2 nights instead of 1. The place is delightful and romantic. ? (On a side note, if youre a light sleeper or enjoy sleeping in, make sure to bring earplugs because the crows may wake you up around 7AM with their morning talk. :) We brought earplugs).Besides Harbor House Inn being absolutely wonderful, it is also only a hop, skip and a jump to the beach, and an easy 14 minute stroll to State Streets action. We cannot wait to return and stay longer! Thank you to everyone who contributes to the beauty, cleanliness, hospitality and good vibes of this place. Thank you to the owners who know what its all about. I cant wait to come back.

La Playa Inn
116 Castillo St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
My three-day stay at La Playa Inn hotel was an overall enjoyable experience. The staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating, despite having to handle difficult situations with some demanding guests. I admired their professionalism and patience. The complimentary breakfast offered a decent variety, including delicious croissants, cereals, yogurt, and coffee. However, its worth noting that if you desired water bottles, you had to specifically request them from the front desk. The room itself was pleasant, providing a comfortable space to relax. One downside was the absence of a pool or hot tub on the premises, though you could catch glimpses of a pool and hot tub next door from the second floor. Unfortunately, there was no option to utilize those amenities, which would have been a welcome addition. Despite the slightly higher price point, I believe the overall experience warranted a five-star rating. I appreciate the efforts of the staff and the quality of the room, though I do hope the hotel considers adding a pool or hot tub option in the future

Kin Bakeshop
199 S Turnpike Rd Suite 103, Santa Barbara, CA 93111, United States
I really didn't want to write a poor review for this place, but I feel the need to be honest. You get absolutely no value when you buy their drinks. I ordered a sesame latte. When it came out, it was a pretty small cup and the entire drink was filled with ice. The latte itself wasn't even touching the brim. You basically get a cup of ice with a splash of latte in it. For SEVEN dollars. I got maybe 3 sips out of that cup? By the way, I tried to override the system and ask for no/light ice. The woman at the counter told me it's impossible because “they measure everything precisely” and not adding ice will change the formula?I was so happy when I found this bakery as I used to live in the Bay Area and miss going to Asian bakeries. However, this one was a big disappointment. I hope they read this review and take it close to heart to make a change. A good running business is when a customer pays for something that has value, but it my opinion this was a plain robbery

SB Pho
1221 State Street Suite 10, E Victoria St Lot 5, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
Cute restaurant but the pho is far from authentic, sort of picked up on some hint when on the menu under pho the options were beef, chicken or vegetables instead of choices on the beef slices (tai, flank, tripe etc). The pho itself tasted off, very oily, with very thin and tiny portion of beef slices despite the $15 for a small (this price will get you an XL size combo pho at most Vietnamese places). The veggie on the side looked so sadly sparse. But I can accept a higher price for its location.Thing that I had a harder time accepting is how they prepared their tea. Ours was made by the cashier, without handwashing just dug hands into a lose leaf tea jar, grabbed a handful, put in a pot and dump a whole bunch of hot water in. Unsanitary.Re: owner's reply - maybe hiring a PR team would be good when engaging with customers online.

Jeannines Restaurant & Bakery
1 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, United States
The Jeanine's location at the foot of State Street in Santa Barbara is by most standards, the most positively reviewed of all Jeanine's locations. Word of mouth among the Hollywood motion picture community literally drives every single visitor from there to breakfast at the Jeanine's location across from Stearn's Wharf. We enjoyed back to back breakfasts there and were impressed by the food, just like everyone else. On our second visit we noticed something that we missed on our first visit, which is the level of care the staff exhibited towards the guests. Two individuals I want to mention are Anthony and Eric. We were inside sitting next to the window, finishing up our breakfast when a young man approached our table and asked us if he could clear the table of our used dishes. The way this young man engaged us was very warm. We suddenly felt like we weren't in a restaurant at all, but in a friend's home. Sure the meal was great. Sure my set decorator friends up for the film festival love this location, which looks like it was created by film industry production designers who love to drive to Santa Barbara for the weekend. Santa Barbara has great restaurants. The staff at this location cares so much that everything is “just right”, you can't help but feel suddenly and surprisingly special.
