Comment: Me and my family stopped in for lunch on a day trip to the beach. The atmosphere was amazing, my kids loved the flower decor and the bikes around the cafe. The line moved very quickly and we were able to find seating indoors with no issues. Most tables outside were full and not large enough for our party but inside was very comfortable. The food was absolutely perfect. Everything we ordered was fresh and filling. The location next to the beach made lunch feel like a movie. The staff and service was one of the best Ive ever experienced in any restaurant. Everyone was helpful and always smiling. They were extremely kind to all guests and I wish I could go back everyday. A must visit on beach day.

Comment: You can wait to be seated, with a nice view of the wharf/ harbor and the full breakfast/ lunch menu, or you can visit the counter to get coffee, pastries, and food to go. If you get coffee to go, you can sit on their side outside patio, but it is small, outside, and has no view. This is a fancier place, not a cafe to sit and work on your computer or read a book while enjoying the view.Getting a latte to go took over 10 minutes, even though it didnt seem too busy.Still, the pastry and coffee were delicious.

Comment: We visited SB downtown back in February and happened to walk by this cute breakfast joint. The bistro tables inside through the open windows from the street looked so inviting and they have outdoor sittings in their courtyard too.There was a small crowd queued up for ordering food at the counter, which is all the way in the back. There were packaged cookies spread out in the tables near the counter for purchase. Receptionists were courteous. Once we made the order, we grabbed a table in the courtyard to enjoy a bit of sun.We waited probably a good amount of time but not too long and food was delivered to our table. French toast and American breakfast were just standard. Both dishes were presented well but food quality fell short. Neither dishes were memorable but good enough for chill out, casual spot.

Comment: I went against a local’s word and got the breakfast burrito. Big mistake. It was mid. Typical gimmick breakfast burrito. Nothing special. The line is super long, but not surprising since it’s in a very busy and popular area. You’re paying for the location and atmosphere. Next time I’ll get the pancakes and or waffles.

Comment: I asked for two scrambled eggs to take away. First of all the staff said that they don’t have change for my 50 dollar bill. I tried my credit cards and the system was out of order, then the staff had to give me change and has a lot of cash to do so. He lied to me. After that I wait for 30 minutes and complain about my order. The staff said “it shoul be coming” but didn’t ask me what I order. I wait more 10 minutes and the staff bring me one packet with an egg inside but forgot my croissant. Than he took the croissant and give to me. When I arrived home I saw that they just give me one egg and support to be two. The croissant was cold and probable from yesterday. It was a really bad experience.

Comment: I used to love this restaurant. I have been here 6-7 times. The most recent time was the worst though. From service to the food.1. I ordered eggs Florentine Benedict. And I dont like English muffins so I asked if I could switch it with a different bread and she judged me a lot. She asked me 5 times if Im sure and rolled her eyes multiple times.Once the food arrived, the hollandaise sauce was bland.2. I also got spiked hot chocolate. I have always ordered it. This time, it was cold, instead of hot. And the whipped cream on top of it was so thick, it tasted like butter instead of light fluffy cream.3. My friends ordered avocado toast. The toast was cold, and a cold sourdough bread slice sucks. They couldnt even bite it properly.It sucks because I used to love this restaurant. Maybe people were having a bad day, but probably skip it if it has a very long line.

Comment: The host was very condescending and discriminatory towards my family on Mother’s Day. I would understand enforcing the rule of taking an order for a number before sitting down if all customers were treated the same. Other families had some people sitting at tables without numbers while the rest of their group ordered at the counter. When my sister sat at a table to save while we ordered, she was made to leave and we tried to talk it out with the host, but he enforced the rule and walked away before we even finished talking. We even pointed out that others were doing what we were, but he cut us off and denied it. We were unable to find another restaurant to take our mother out to because we wasted time waiting in line, only to be treated this way. The Jeannine’s in Goleta is much better with their interpersonal skills and customer service.

We got the Juevos Rancheros, Oatmeal and Ricotta Scrambled Eggs. Everything was full of flavour and served pretty quickly even though the restaurant was quite busy.Once we finish breakfast, we were just across the road from the wharf and perfect spot to go for a little walk along the beach.

Comment: Today I had a frustrating experience in this place.We ordered two Eggs Benedict, but unfortunately only one was brought out. After waiting for some time, I checked the receipt and noticed we were only charged for one. I politely inquired about resolving this without waiting in line again, as I had already spent about 40 minutes there initially. Unfortunately, the only option offered was the online pickup line, which wasnt ideal considering the previous wait.While I understand mistakes can happen, the lack of verification at the counter and the proposed solution to rectify the error left me feeling quite frustrated. It seems like there could have been a more efficient way to handle the situation, perhaps by simply bringing the missing portion and adjusting the bill at the table.The only person who did good in this situation was my wife who generously shared her portion with me.

Which brings us to the non-food related.Sometimes youll wait in a queue, get here early if waiting is not your fancy, but while waiting youll have a view of the coast and wharf. Once you get inside youre rushed off to the left to place an order.The staff are professional, quick, kind, and wonderful at delivering a nice touch to the whole experience. If you see Jose, youre in good hands and say hi for us.Find a seat facing the beach (Seat yourself, first come first served, unless big party) and enjoy the best beach breakfast you can.Not only did we come here four times in four days during our weekend wedding (with one of those days leading to second breakfasts with the next round of our wedding guests), we now hope to visit every week as a morning breakfast date place then take a walk.Would recommend you try,Troy

Comment: Went here for breakfast due to the high rating on Google Maps. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed.They have a beautiful garden with sea view, and a lot of shade. Before you can take a seat though, you need to order your food. They enforce this by several waiters telling you to order before sitting down.We ordered a decaf oat cappuccino and a regular Oat Cappuccino, which unfortunately only come in togo cups, and not regular ceramic cups. For food, we went for the vegetable omelette, which came to our table only around 2 minutes after we took a seat. Unfortunately, it also came cold which was a disappointing to me.Overall, the location is nice, but we just did not enjoy the rest very much, unfortunately.

Comment: Jeannines is one of our favorites when we visit cousins in Santa Barbara several times a year. The line, while off-putting at first, moves quickly and youve ordered and are seated soon enough to not make impatient kids crazy. We ordered the Challah French Toast breakfast with scramble eggs, Chilaquiles, Two Eggs over easy and a side of toast, and the oatmeal. All arrived well-presented and all reported as super tasty. My only criticism is that, even though we were eating in and event though they thankfully provided cloth napkins, the coffee was in a paper cup and the water was in a plastic cup. Especially since you are situated right across the street from the beach, change to reusable cups and you will get 5 stars.

Comment: First time visiting the restaurant. Parking was at a public garage right around the corner walking distance. First 75 min free. This place Was the highest rated in the area. Small line to enter on a Sunday around noon. The line moved rather quickly. **There is a separate counter If you wish to take it out rather than dine in. You order your food at the counter and then select your seat. We ordered the kalua banana French toast, breakfast burrito, pancakes for my oldest and small side orders of bacon and eggs for my little one. Food tastes fresh and the environment was lively with music and a mix of young college kids to families enjoying the beautiful view of the Pier and passersby. Lots of outdoor seating if thats your thing.

Comment: They have an odd policy here: you can’t sit down until you wait in line, order, and pay. They explain it to you at the door. They enforce this and won’t let you wait for someone, or sit at a table while another person orders. They seem to think that the high volume location justifies this policy. I think it’s rude. Maybe if they would provide table service instead of table policing, they’d know whether they can accommodate arriving customers and they wouldn’t have to treat people like sheep. Leave this one for the tourists and go somewhere else.

We each got the regular, and vegetarian burrito ( with avo!) and shared a plain french toast ( + horchata cold brew and fresh oj). We came in January at around 12, there was no line or wait. It was cute and cozy. I usually avoid french toast at restaurants, as i find its usually soggy. this was PERFECTLY cooked, with fresh fruit and REAL maple syrup ( which matters greatly to us lol). You order one place. They give a number for your table now and they bring it wherever you choose to sit inside (normal restaurant seating with great views of the beach across the street through windows) or outside on the patio (beautiful setting for a sunny day (with unobstructed views of the street and beach beyond).Top marks on location, view and coffee. But the bakes scones and croissants are very well made and a great backbone and remain the hero of your meal here. Id give it an 8.5/10 and the great way to wind down my honeymooning adventure.

It is in a great location, right across from the water at the end of State St. The patio is very pretty and has a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. On our first visit, my food for some reason got missed on the slip, so it came pretty late. However, they apolgized multiple times and even brought us some of their scones to make up for it. They were absolutly delicious! After trying another place close by on the second day, we decided to come back to Jannines on the third morning again. The line was long, but we figured it would be worth the wait, but it actually went very fast. The staff really hustles and is so sweet. They remembered us from last time and thanked us for returning. We absolutly will make this our place for breakfast when we come back to SB so we can enjoy the food and service provided by Lalo (sp?)and his team!

Comment: The Jeanine’s location at the foot of State Street in Santa Barbara is by most standards, the most positively reviewed of all Jeanine’s locations. Word of mouth among the Hollywood motion picture community literally drives every single visitor from there to breakfast at the Jeanine’s location across from Stearn’s Wharf. We enjoyed back to back breakfasts there and were impressed by the food, just like everyone else. On our second visit we noticed something that we missed on our first visit, which is the level of care the staff exhibited towards the guests. Two individuals I want to mention are Anthony and Eric. We were inside sitting next to the window, finishing up our breakfast when a young man approached our table and asked us if he could clear the table of our used dishes. The way this young man engaged us was very warm. We suddenly felt like we weren’t in a restaurant at all, but in a friend’s home. Sure the meal was great. Sure my set decorator friends up for the film festival love this location, which looks like it was created by film industry production designers who love to drive to Santa Barbara for the weekend. Santa Barbara has great restaurants. The staff at this location cares so much that everything is “just right”, you can’t help but feel suddenly and surprisingly special.

Comment: They have excellent breakfast and the staff is very friendly. It’s the first time in three weeks that a restaurant could offer me a gluten-free muffin. No extra cost for that. Big plus! I could also choose between potato’s or a salad to the omelette and that was really good. This I a popular place but you didn’t need to wait for your food. It would have been nice to drink coffe from a cup instead of a mug and also to be offer a refill. I recommend this place and especially if you’re gluten intolerant.

Comment: We went there on a Sunday for brunch, and it is obviously a very popular place, with lots of families and also ladies parties drinking their mimosa. The food is good and plentiful, and the service is lovable. The ordering system however is a bit complicated - one has to line up to order the food (as the menu is not visible from the outside, it takes quite a while for everybody to make up their mind), and then needs to find themselves a place to sit down. Also be aware that you literally sit in the middle of a car parking, facing a carwash where people passionately scrub their pickup for hours. Not exactly a relaxing sunday morning experience.

Comment: This was a great breakfast spot with quick service and fresh food. It is right off the beach an offers a charming atmosphere to linger in while you kick off your day. On thing I would caution is that it is better if you can arrive early as it does tend to get busy quite quickly in the mornings, This is especially the case during the weekends when the line starts to form around 8:45am to 9:00am. They have great food and I’d definitely recommend yet I would urge you to be aware of the long lines and plan accordingly.

Comment: I came to eat brunch here with friends a few weekends ago. The wait line was long but moved quickly. There was a bunch of cute candles and knick-knacks to buy in the store and there was a vast array of drink selections--even nice bottles of wine and champagne. After ordering, we received our food fairly quickly. I ordered the burrito which was quite large and very egg-ey, but good. Every dish my friends got was solid as well. A little overpriced, but youre paying for Santa Barbara and the location is awesome. A great time and nice brunch.

I wish I had gotten the name of the manager who was moving around making sure everyone in line and dining was happy because he was one of the most accommodating and hard working individuals I’ve come across in the service industry. Just wow! We were talking about this place for the rest of our weekend. A group of 10 girls on a bachelorette party can be very hard to please and this place went above and beyond. Everyone thought their food was amazing, the place was gorgeous and although there was a short wait in line it was DEFINITELY worth it! Thank you to the team of people who run this place.

Comment: Interesting style. You order your food at the counter and then it is brought to you. Weird for a bakery. My syrup was spilled all over my eggs. Some people like that. Im not one of them. My son had a blueberry scone and didnt like it. He fed most of it to the birds on the patio. They are pretty daring and were attacking peoples unattended food/ plates. They are out of his hand. My sister had a breakfast burrito and liked it a lot.

Comment: We came here two days in a row due to how great the food was. The coffee was lovely- not too over roasted. We got the burrito one day (awesome, salsa was flavorful), lemon poppy seed pancakes (these are great-not too sweet and full of flavor), and the quesadilla (good but maybe a bit too cheesy for us personally). The fruit was fresh too. Service was phenomenal and super efficient. I cant think of how they could improve.

Comment: Absolutely DELICIOUS breakfast!!! My mom and I had the California omelot and the egg was cooked to perfection. So many restaurants tend to overcook eggs making omelots stiff and dried out. This one was one of the best weve ever had. Very generous avocado portion too. I also loved their biscuits and lemon scones. The chai latte was fantastic! So much cinnamon! We also loved sitting on the patio with a lovely view of the water. Jeannines was definitely one of our favorite restaurants during our trip to Santa Barbara.

Comment: Really wonderful partial-service joint. Every single dish we tried over 3 consecutive days of visits were wonderful. Drinks were creative and tasty. From poached eggs and hollandaise to avocado toast and locally smoked salmon, it was outstanding. You order at the counter but then the wonderful efficient fast moving wait staff takes care of you from there. Our servers knew us by the second visit and were enthusiastic about seeing us again :) Very highly recommended.

Comment: Jeannine’s is a must for our family, especially when we have a special occasion. We love this sea side location as the patio area is large making it group, kid, and dog friendly. The service at any Jeannine’s has always been exceptional and this location is no different. The staff is very welcoming and service oriented (not so common these days). The french toast is the standard we hold everywhere else to because it’s so delicious. Highly recommend the bacon, Florentine Benedict, and breakfast burrito as well. Their burger is quite good, with high quality beef - a must for those who like lunch for brunch. The baked goods are delectable and we always get at least one scone or slice of cake to go because we want to keep the goodness coming all day. The Texas chocolate cake is rich and decadent, the strawberry white cake is fluffy and melts in your mouth. We also enjoy the variety of coffee and tea options, but the fresh squeezed orange juice is always a winner (even better when you make it a mimosa). Don’t be deterred by a long line as it moves quickly and is worth the wait.

Had a chocolate croissant (not pictured) which was great tasting but possibly a tad over heated. Started off with a mimosa and ordered a breakfast burrito and the Kahlua french toast. Both were excellent. If you love smoky bacon (which I do), burrito is a solid choice. Got it with a potato medley which included regular, purple and sweet potatoes topped with parsley. The french toast came with bananas which were soft, possibly a bit too much sauce but it was fine. Add in the great views and it made for a great breakfast. Would recommend and go again next time I’m in town.

Comment: Great little cafe! Lots of outdoor seating with an ocean view. The apple maple scone was incredible--not dry at all, and not overly sweet, either. I got the salmon plate (the locally smoked salmon is awesome) and the bagel was also good (not dry). My partner got the French toast, and the challah bread they use is very fluffy and thick. The service was incredible. The manager greeted us and every other employee was friendly and helpful.

Comment: We loved this place so much we came two mornings in a row. I love eggs benedict and since I cant make it at home, I frequently order it for breakfast. This was the best eggs benedict Ive ever had. The Kahlua french toast with bananas was also delicious. The sauce was so flavorful it didnt need syrup. We also tried the pumpkin pancakes which didnt disappoint. I heard this place is known for its scones so we tried one of those as well, and unsurprisingly it was amazing. Oh yeah and the smoothie was also great! You cant go wrong, its worth the wait (if there is a wait). They have a beautiful outdoor patio too.

He is so sweet and always gives me a scone (or two) when Im there. I mostly come here for the service (the food is beyond excellent and always consistent). But the front of house service is so welcoming and kind. I always walk away having a better day after eating here. Would give 10 stars if I could!

Comment: Love this breakfast place! We stayed at Harbor House Inn and the host in front desk recommended this place to us for breakfast. We absolutely loved here. It had a short line when we got there around 9:30. The line went pretty fast and you could order food from the bar and then take your number and find a seat. I had the last strawberry croissant and my hubby ordered a egg Benedict. Both of them are amazing!!!! I highly recommend you try both their bakery and fresh made breakfast. Also their service is so sweet and nice.

Comment: I’ve been here each day for the past two days now. From the moment you walk in the door, you’re warmly greeted and feel welcome. The staff is so friendly, helpful and attentive and the customer service is top notch. I had two people check on me while I was in, asking me how everything was and if I needed anything. The attention to detail is impeccable. It’s clear it comes from great management which I highly appreciate. The vegan donut is yummy and the oat milk latte was pretty good. The second visit I ordered a tea and the manager asked one of the servers to give me a baked good on the house that I could enjoy with my tea. These are the experiences you don’t forget and talk about with others. Highly recommend this place. The vibe and energy is perfect and the seating (both inside and outside) faces the beach, making for a great location. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Santa Barbara! Thank you for making my visit so memorable.

This was our first time here so it might be helpful to know you wait in line to order your food, they have menus all over while you wait in line, and they give you a number which you place on your table. They then bring out your food once it’s ready. They have seating inside and then also a huge outside patio area which was dog friendly. There were a lot of great breakfast options to choose from and their mimosas looked great! We ended up ordering the breakfast burrito and the French toast. It didn’t take long for our food to come out and everything was very tasty!! I would image this place could get very busy on the weekends but it would certainly be worth the wait!
