Comment: The hotel was clean and quiet, architecture and limited grounds were nicely maintained. All contact contact with staff was positive. Garage parking was appreciated with onsite parking. The hotel property restricted one onsite/garage parking space per room; this was a good policy! Their breakfast was a very limited Continental one....Chads (formerly Sambos and pictured) was an easy walk down the street, offering full breakfast options with reasonable prices and great service, if that is your thing. Pictured is a park across the street; its facilities are limited and appeared only to cater to baseball playing.

Comment: Room was nice but the staff is not friendly at all. The guy who checked us in the evening of 3/21 tried to act smart with me with the keys and parking pass. Not sure if it’s because I was young. “Why do you need 4 keys if you’re just 2 people?” No sense of hospitality and had a bad attitude. The other staff members would not even say hi back when you say hello. Cleaning lady was nice. The all day coffee is nice, and the continental breakfast is descent.

Comment: Such a great place to stay! Our room was clean, cute, and comfy. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo. We had called after we booked our room and requested to have a microwave in our room, and it was there when we arrived. There was also a microwave in the lobby. They also had a small selection of pastries and fruit out in the morning, a little fridge with yogurts, and a little coffee/tea setup in the lobby. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again the next time Im in Santa Barbara!

Comment: Solid 4.5 if I could give it that many stars. Good hotel for the price, nice new[ish] feeling decor, room size is fair and the bed was fairly comfortable. We also loved that they had EV charging and thats why we chose this hotel for our one night in Santa Barbara. Its a bit far from things we wanted to see in SB and the map made us feel it was closer than it was since we didnt want to drive to everything, we did want to walk from our hotel. But thats not the fault of the hotel! My only complaint is going to be specific for very few travelers. I loved that they had built in dispensers for soap and shampoo as I dislike single use toiletries in hotels. But I have thick, long hair and all the dispensers gave out such a small amount of product at a time that it would have taken me and hour and a half to get out enough shampoo to wash my hair! I would just advise other women with long, thick hair, pack their own shampoo and conditioner. Then youre golden!

Comment: We booked for two nights and extended a third it was so good. this is a fantastic 3 star hotel. It’s managed extremely well. The staff were all fantastic. Beds very comfy and rooms were great. Complimentary breakfast and parking thrown in. It was very good value for money, and there were plenty of things like free tea and coffee to help yourself too that shows this is a generous offering which is centred around great service. As a hotelier, im really critical about hotel stays, this is the best 3 star hotel experience ive stayed in. I would definitely stay here again.

Comment: LA Playa is the perfect overnight getaway for this older couple allowing us to ditch the car and take a short walk to the harbor & restaurants. It is a lovely architecture with several outdoor areas that feel like intimate settings. The bed was Heavenly! Unlike other hotels, their continental fare included croissants- even chocolate croissants. Yum. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere & pleasant, helpful staff.

The Inn is very clean, comfortable, with spacious/well designed rooms and staff are very friendly.Location is great, easy to walk to the waterfront and into downtown (around 15mins).Continental breakfast was suitable.Rooms had a lot of good space and didn’t feel cramped at all. Beds are a little on the small side - they are full size rather than Queen or double so just a few inches to narrow with the 4 of us, pillows could also be a little bigger, they’re quite small for the size.Would stay again.

Comment: The room we lived in was large enough, clean and well designed. The room had an AC/heater, fridge, coffee maker, safe, iron, hair dryer. Sound isolation was OK to block a noise coming from the street, but when somebody decided to start jumping in the room above, it was clearly noticeable. The bed was ok, sifter than I like. Pillows were not very comfortable and could be larger.The hotel staff was good.Free parking.Breakfast was quite basic: pastry, cereals, yogurt, granola bars, apples, bananas, oatmeal in paper bags, tea, coffee.

Comment: Hated this place. You get nothing for your money, not even a bottle of water. Youre expected to go to reception to get water, and thats after paying almost $400 for a room! The hotel is also very noisy. We were woken up around midnight by guests talking and laughing loudly in the courtyard. And Im certain we werent the only ones. Noise just bounces off the walls of the courtyard and the reception does little or nothing to keep things quiet. A guest eventually spoke with the group and they eventually dissipated to their own rooms. Free parking, but no security. Breakfast offers nothing more than cereal and stale muffins. Will not be staying here again.

Its almost literally across the street from the Carriage Museum.The parking includes several EV charging spots.Light breakfast is included (dry cereal, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, orange juice, coffee/tea). The yogurt fridge is available 24/7.Its an easy walk to a 7/11, and to a couple of restaurants.I would definitely stay there for our next trip to Santa Barbara.

Comment: My three-day stay at La Playa Inn hotel was an overall enjoyable experience. The staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating, despite having to handle difficult situations with some demanding guests. I admired their professionalism and patience. The complimentary breakfast offered a decent variety, including delicious croissants, cereals, yogurt, and coffee. However, its worth noting that if you desired water bottles, you had to specifically request them from the front desk. The room itself was pleasant, providing a comfortable space to relax. One downside was the absence of a pool or hot tub on the premises, though you could catch glimpses of a pool and hot tub next door from the second floor. Unfortunately, there was no option to utilize those amenities, which would have been a welcome addition. Despite the slightly higher price point, I believe the overall experience warranted a five-star rating. I appreciate the efforts of the staff and the quality of the room, though I do hope the hotel considers adding a pool or hot tub option in the future

I recommend the croissant with white powder sugar which they told us is brought in from a local bakery. The price was great and included parking. Comment: This was the best accommodation during our trip. Really recommended due to the quiet yet quite central location, the cleanliness, the large bed and the free parking spaces. Breakfast included, as is unfortunately common almost everywhere in the USA, not necessarily worth mentioning. However, the coffee was very good and even from a local roaster. We would definitely book there again next time!- The best Hotel during our holiday in California. Central and quiet, very clean, big comfortable bed and free parking. Comment: My stay has yet to end but this cannot wait! What a wonderfully splendid place to stay! So close to everything yet still quiet and private. Initial impression is everything looks brand new; the room was immaculate and the bed comfortable. Stand out features for us were the tasteful decor hiding necessary features like the air-conditioning unit behind the desk unit, the matched cabinetry throughout that cleverly concealed multiple usb and power outlets and the full-sized bathroom toiletries in the pristinely clean and roomy bathroom. Someone has taken the time to consider what a traveller wants and needs away from home. And can we take a moment to truly appreciate the beautiful coved ceilings in our room, what an architectural treasure! Check in was a breeze and Im happy to say I will be sad to leave. If I had to make a criticism (and what review would be believeable without one?) some of the bed pillows are in need of a refresh/replace otherwise its a 10/10 for us.

Comment: Became stranded in Santa Barbara for 2 days because of flooding and road closures in both directions on highway 101. Luckily got one of the last rooms here. The women at the front desk were very helpful in helping me and my Boyfriend who was elsewhere navigate to the hotel. All roads that the GPS were showing were flooded. Kelly was very patient in explaining an alternate way. What a beautiful hotel. The lobby is inviting, warm and has great complimentary coffee and tea, wrapped baked goods,fruit and yogurt. The room I had had a balcony, a very comfortable bed, and everything was super clean. There is plenty of off street parking. I walked out the lobby to find restaurants and the boardwalk right on the beach. I hope to come again when there is not torrential rains and floods.

Comment: La Playa, a Inn is a lovely hotel in walking distance to great restaurants and the beautiful Santa Barbara shoreline. I stayed for four nights and found the property to be extremely clean, comfortable and accommodating. They offer a complementary coffee bar and breakfast, which I did not partake in, but it was available each day. It is a family run hotel, which is nice because they put a lot of care into the property such as the beautiful holiday decorations. Casey was quite pleasant to Interact with during my trip. He went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable considering the length of my stay. He was knowledgeable about the area which helped because I had questions on one of my activities, and he was able to provide guidance. I would recommend this hotel for location, value and overall experience.

Comment: Smaller scale boutique inn. Impeccably clean with attentive staff. Modern furnishings, simple and minimalist. The lobby felt like it’s a home. There’s breakfast to go; croissants, muffins, yogurt and the like.It’s very close to the beach and harbor.It’s on a quiet area.This is newly renovated from 2 years ago. Parking is also included in the rate which is a plus compared to similar hotels. There’s a courtyard in the middle.This is a very convenient and very nice place to stay while in the area.The staff is very attentive, they really care for their job.We’ll definitely be back.

Comment: I stayed here once a yr ago. I really loved it. The experience I had this past weekend was not the same. First room I checked into had hair in the tub, toilet wasnt cleaned properly, floor wasnt swept and patio was not clean as well. The Girl at the front desk barely knew what she was doing, I got frustrated and requested that she got the manager on the phone. I was transferred to another room which also was in need of a deep cleaning, but at this time I was too tired and frustrated to contact housekeeping. Upon check out my credit card had been charged when I had specifically told the clerk that I wanted to pay cash and had been assured the day before the credit card was for holding purposes only. So there was another 15 minutes of wasted time getting the charge reversed. Although everyone is nice @ La Playa Inn, after this experience I probably wont stay there again next trip around. I would advise management to hire better housekeepers and also clerks who know what they are doing.

We read many of the great reviews about La Playa Inn and decided to give it a try (we were also celebrating our anniversary over a long overdue extended weekend). As many of the other reviews have stated, the La Playa Inn features an array of quality features that include: great setting, clean/ modern amenities, EXCEPTIONAL service, convenient location, free parking, and much, much more. Comment: My mom, sister, and I stayed here May 20-25th and had an amazing time! Jasmine greeted us our first night in and gave me a wink when I mentioned my moms birthday. When we went to our room there was a wonderful surprise waiting. They gave us a bottle of wine and some delicious pasties for my moms birthday. What a sweet gesture! Its so rare to receive that personal touch these days. This inn is quite new and opened in 2020. It was perfectly clean and in a fantastic location close enough to walk to everything. They also offer unlimited water bottles and a complimentary breakfast. We saw Jasmine many times during our stay and she was always friendly and had great tips on the area. She reminded me of Emmy Rossum. ;-) I highly recommend staying here! We loved every minute!

Comment: Five star! The bed is even more comfortable than Bellagio’s and the shower is absolutely stunning with cute blue tiles. We kept saying to each other “I wanna stay here longer ! I don’t wanna leave this inn!”. Sophisticated and modern interior design and colors are coordinated perfectly with blue tones. Breakfast options are great (coffee, tea, croissants, muffins, cereals, varieties of yogurt, orange juice, energy bars, fruits). Coffee and tea are served in the reception area to take all day long (sugar, sugar alternatives, honey, half & half, plastic cups with lids to go). Female receptionist and housekeeping lady were both delightful and we felt warmly welcomed. Highly recommended!!

The rooms are nice, the outside common seating is a good place to have a beer (you gotta bring one) before you hit the streets. Parking is available. Coffee and light breakfast are available as well. Free Water bottles throughout the day are an added plus. The Mexican courtyard style makes the hotel feel very cozy and welcome! Staff is attentive and friendly. Price can be a bit high sometimes!

We slept through the night and enjoyed breakfast at cafes close by. The location is great as its a short walk from the beach, shop, and restaurants. Comment: After driving 6 hours to an airbnb that ended up not being safe, we were afraid we wouldnt be able to find anything since most places were already booked up for the weekend we were in Santa Barbara.One phone call and we had a kind gentleman help us get a room for two nights at this hotel.Dont let the name fool ya, this hotel is not playing around with its beautiful updated rooms, gorgeous tiling in the showers and level of cleanliness.They dont hold back on providing little snacks and beverages for their guests either.I would highly recommend this hotel and it looks like theyre creating some much needed competition in the area, which was much needed.Enjoy!

My teen girls loved it here and didnt want to leave for the next location because they enjoyed walking up and down State street, which is closed off so places can stay open along the street! It was nice to have such an array of choices and also get out steps in.Victoria assisted us at check in and was very accommodating. I would have never thought to stay here if it werent for the great reviews, but Im glad we did! Dont get me wrong, its not a high end hotel, but we didnt expect it to be - the location and cleanliness however are A+ though. Well definitely be back!
