Comment: The portions were very small :( if they were larger I would have had a great time since the food itself wasn’t bad! Got the pork rice plate, got a very small amount of meat and a little pickled vegetables, just wasn’t worth the $20. Staff was nice and cheerful, enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop!

Comment: Stingy portions, long wait times, not worth the price. I ordered a large beef pho and for the price ($19), I was very disappointed. The portions are very small. I weigh 98 lbs. and even I thought the less than 1 cup of noodles they give you just isnt enough or worth the extra $$$. If you order to go, they dont give you chopsticks or utensils. The ambience and courtyard seating is charming. The vermicelli dish is super tasty. But the pho is honestly underwhelming and bland.

Comment: If you like bad pho and want to be insulted, this is the best place. The pho tasted like MSG. Its way overpriced for a plain bowl of soup. Larg pho is 15.99 plus 30% tip /tax without veggies. The 32oz large bowl size is small in other places.The owner and the waiter were extremely rude when I asked why he forgot my soup veggies. There are better phos in town.

Can taste the freshness of ingredients and the people here actually care.The beef pho was fire, and had just enough noodles and beef - the vegan pho even almost had a better flavor than the beef pho which is surprising.Had a vegan banh mi and bulgogi and honestly thought they weren’t going to deliver on that but was super flavorful and the bread was really fresh. Wish if wasn’t so far!

Comment: Cute restaurant but the pho is far from authentic, sort of picked up on some hint when on the menu under pho the options were beef, chicken or vegetables instead of choices on the beef slices (tai, flank, tripe etc). The pho itself tasted off, very oily, with very thin and tiny portion of beef slices despite the $15 for a small (this price will get you an XL size combo pho at most Vietnamese places). The veggie on the side looked so sadly sparse. But I can accept a higher price for its location.Thing that I had a harder time accepting is how they prepared their tea. Ours was made by the cashier, without handwashing just dug hands into a lose leaf tea jar, grabbed a handful, put in a pot and dump a whole bunch of hot water in. Unsanitary.Re: owner’s reply - maybe hiring a PR team would be good when engaging with customers online.

Comment: The service was good and kind but If you are looking for a place to eat authentic pho this is definitely NOT the place. First of all the portions are very small, I ordered a large pho and got a small portion from authentic Vietnamese restaurants and for a little bit higher price than other places where you get double the portion. Second, the broth is completely different from all the pho I have tried, I could say that it lacked more flavor. This is definitely not an authentic place, rather it is an imitation of Vietnamese food.

Comment: I came to this place wanting to try traditional Vietnamese food and flavors, and I was very disappointed. I ordered the chicken curry for which I paid 20 dollars and when the dish arrived its small size caught my attention, but the worst thing was that when I tried it it had no flavor, the rice was not oriental and the food had nothing special. I dont think I would recommend it to anyone, even more so if you come hungry, this seems like a joke but unfortunately there are restaurants that only seek to make money without delivering a good product in return. The atmosphere is fast food, little love in the decoration. Only the girl who served us was nice, the rest were poor.

They staff is so kind and the food immediately fills us up. My boyfriend gets beef pho and I get the veggie. We drive from Carpinteria every week(sometimes twice) to get our fix of SB Pho. I thought the service and the portions were good to. Its a very convenient location near the public market and scarlett begonia on victoria. There is a paid parking lot right there to make it easy too. You can sometimes find parking further up on west victoria or you can use the 2 hour PM market lot.

The broth was not clear at all and had some very hard to chew roots so the pho was very hard to enjoy.The pho portions are twice smaller that usual pho bowls are served at the restaurants.The side veggies for the pho were old and looking strange. We had to ask to replace it!The surrounding area is beautiful, more of the sitting area is available outside of the restaurant.

Comment: Driving back to Los Angeles from the Central Coast, we stopped to get a bite at this tucked away establishment. My husband and I are (mostly) vegetarian and are also big fans of Asian cuisine. However, it can be a challenge to find a vegan pho that is not simply a bowl of salty broth. SB Pho delivered. The stock tastes of (and is!) chock full of vegetables and spiced thoughtfully with subtle hints of anise and clove. We were so impressed that my husband had to ask the chef what the secret was. Chef took him into the kitchen and talked passionately about his treatment of vegetables and meat. Next time we happen to be in the area, I look forward to trying other menu options!

Comment: I like Vietnamese phone, but this one is the worst ever I had. the lady didnt even greet us. the price is 20% higher than other places and also the portion is much smaller, about 60% the size the other places had. the broth is not good, not clear. It is not the Vietnamese traditional flavor. the pho is puffy, feels like the Chinese noodle. I dont like it at all so is my wife. Will never go again.

Comment: Such an amazing experience. First time in Santa Barbara not knowing what to eat, and we could smell the pho from a block away. We walked in and what was greeted immediately, and was given a rundown of the whole menu. The man that was in the front was so nice and talked about what he liked about each of the dishes. We got two bowls of the beef broth pho with the veggie sides and the order of the fried spring rolls. The price was very good for an area like this. If we lived here, we will definitely come back again as a perfect date night for the beautiful atmosphere surrounding the building.

The first time I ate here I asked about their broth (Ive had terrible experiences with Saigon giving us veggie broth that contained meat chunks). They were very upfront about having three separate broths and that the veggie broth was in no way cross contaminated. This may seem like a small thing, but it is HUGE for someone whos vegan and wants to be able to eat comfortably without worrying about cross contamination. BEST PHO EVER! Thank you!!!

Comment: Best most flavorful pho weve ever had. The aroma of the spices in the broth alone was enough to show how high quality it was. My boyfriend had the chicken pho with chicken broth and I had the veggie pho with vegan broth and both were so full of spice and flavor. I find that with most vegan pho broths, theres almostno taste but the flavors were so pronounced. great for meat eaters, happy surprise for vegitarians/vegans. The place is a little hidden and maybe unsuspecting but thats what makes it great.

This place offers authentic pho in the morning when no one else does so! Its hidden in a quaint hidden plaza so make sure to not give up hope if you dont find it at first (its numbered 10). It is much worth it. The owner (most likely?) is extremely pleasant and seems very well traveled. Next time, Ill check if they have mimosas or other drinks.
