Comment: The absolute best. I won’t stay anywhere else in SB. I never write reviews but went out of my way for this. The customer service is fantastic. All of the staff is more than kind, they have bikes to use at your leisure, snacks and water in the lobby, the rooms are clean and it’s right by the beach. Can’t ask for anything more unless you want a private chef, and even that I’d bet they’d be able to arrange for you.

Comment: This was the coziest spot with the best service. When our neighbors partied all night (which we were told is not the normal clientele) and kept us from sleeping, we talked to the office and they were able to move us into a different (even bigger) room free of charge for the next night. Amazing service. Coffee in the rooms, bathroom amenities, free bike rentals, all you can ask for. Super walkable to the great eats and drinks and the beach. Worth the splurge and way nicer than a hotel. Highly recommend this place!

Comment: I can not say enough good things about the Harbor House Inn! All of the reviews are right. This place is the real deal. Everything was perfect! The room was spotless and VERY comfortable. The setting is ideal, which includes thoughtful seating areas throughout the property. Theres a basket of snacks that was always stocked full in the lobby area. Just help yourself! Also, they let you borrow bikes and beach chairs for no cost! No resort fees, none of that here, just a great place to stay for a very fair price. Also, the location is perfect, one block from the beach and fantastic spots for breakfast! I want to go back already! Id DEFINITELY recommend the Harbor House Inn! Id give a review of 6 stars if I could!

Comment: I recently stayed at Harbor House in Santa Barbara and had a fantastic experience. The staff, especially Cody, was incredibly friendly and provided excellent local recommendations. The rooms were well-appointed with everything needed for a week-long stay. A major plus was the complimentary rental of beach towels and bikes, making our trip even more enjoyable. I had a lovely time and will undoubtedly choose Harbor House for all future visits to Santa Barbara.

Comment: The location is hard to beat. I stayed in the modern queen studio, and it was extremely comfortable for two people. Customer service was great, and the hotel was quiet, safe and peaceful. I would stay here again without a doubt. Parking might be a little tight during busy season, but I dont think a car is needed in Santa Barbara anyway. Great place. So happy I found it. Best price deal is to book directly through their website.

Comment: Compelled to write a review since there are so many and almost only 5 star reviews and I’ll tell you why. The inn is well located, within minutes to the beach and restaurants. The building layout and architecture is aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are large, almost like a little apartment with the couchs, kitchenette and two tvs. The desk in there raises and lowers which is awesome and a phone charger incase you need it. So there is attention to detail and quality. There is no pool, spa or room service so they were able to focus on the rooms which they achieved. There was even a little patio. Bed was comfortable although comforter was quite thin and the room was a little dusty but I ignored given the price I paid. I’m traveling on budget and during the week so for $170 rate no problem no complaints although I see that this place typically ranges from $200-300 a night and so at that rate what they offer is to be expected in my opinion and nothing special. Otherwise it is well maintained, nice staff and no noise.

Comment: This place is such a gem! My partner and I have stayed here twice with our families and only have good things to say. Rooms are clean and spacious, the people at the front desk are always so kind, and the location is amazing.Things we loved:- Rooms are SUPER clean and modern, but still have lots of character. They also come equipped with lots of extra little amenities that make a big difference, like new dish soap and sponges for the kitchen, makeup remover wipes, etc.- Between our families and ourselves, weve seen 5 of the rooms. The photos on the website are super accurate, which is helpful when youre picky (e.g. some rooms have a bigger bathroom and shower, some have full-service kitchens with a stove, etc.).- Free snacks near the front desk (were sad that they got rid of their breakfast banana bread, but happy that they still provide fresh fruit and lots of other snacks!).- Only 2-3 minutes from the beach, and 10-15 minutes to downtown by foot.- Parking is always so easy! Theres usually ample parking in the courtyard, the larger rooms come with guaranteed parking, and theres also always lots of safe street parking right in front.- Free bike rentals, super fast and easy to get to the beachfront trail from the hotel!

We had our breakfast from a local cafe delivered to our doorstep by doordash. We also opted to pay for a late checkout. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The location is next to the beach and a short walk from downtown (State street). Santa Barbara hotels are expensive. We both felt that this place knocks the value add out of the park. Location, Staff, and quality of room to price cant be beat.The bike rental was a nice perk. It was free and comes with a lock so that you can explore the city.The bed was comfortable memory foam.The shower head had good pressure.We also enjoyed our backyard.The staff was really nice. Its a small property and the staff takes advantage of that by learning your name before you check-in. Good stuff....feels nice to be expected.

Comment: We had a great stay at the harbor house inn for Valentine’s Day weekend. We stayed in queen suite 4, and it had Modern updates, spacious, and all the amenities we needed. Free bike rentals allowed us to enjoy the coast and we rode to coffee in the morning. Great location, close to state street and a ton of restaurants. We loved that it is a family run inn with only a few quaint rooms. I am a stickler about cleanliness of rooms, and I found nothing! We will be back next time we are in SB, thanks for a great stay!

The interior was fantastic, cant beat free parking, such a great location and easy walk to the beach, food, Stearns Wharf.Even though this was a business work travel trip, Im so glad that I steered away from my typical hotel chains and opted to stay at the Harbor House Inn. First of all, its family owned and operated - what a lovely experience! Parking is free (compared to $49 down the street per night!) and the location is amazing. Room #4 was beautiful decorated in a clean, classic look with a lovely updated bathroom. Free bike rentals along with beach equipment and chairs, as well. For the price, it all felt like such a steal but definitely worth coming back for again - I may try some of the other rooms, but #4 was such a lovely stay.EDIT: Apparently I left behind my Fitbit in which they called me to ask if it was mine and they shipped it back to me! Thank you so much - I really appreciate all of the attention to details and amazing customer service.

The kitchen was stocked with basic spices, utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker (plenty of coffee) and teas. Comment: Look no further - Harbor House is special.So much to love- where do I begin?First, to get the best price, BOOK DIRECTLY with the hotel; it will also enable you to communicate directly with the hotel versus a third party.We usually stay in 5-star properties, but when we saw the rates at these properties in Santa Barbara were between $1,000-$2,000 per night, we decided to research other options, and we are glad we did!Our room had a large, comfortable bed, and bedding was high quality; towels were fluffy and soft. Additionally, the little kitchenette was well stocked: refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, half and half, tea kettle, tea, glasses, silverware, etc.We were concerned that the parking out front might be noisy, and we are light sleepers, but that was not the case, it was very quiet, and we slept well. We loved that the hotel is one block from the beach in a residential area, making it much quieter than staying on the main drag with four lanes of traffic.I used the bikes daily- they were brand new, and the hotel also provided nice beach towels.The owners have thought of every detail to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I also love that the owners are there every day and so responsive. Cody, Mark, and Karen were available and incredibly helpful throughout our five-day stay.We will definitely be back.

My husband and I got the spa room and was amazed at the attention to every detail. Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. Its fit for royalty. We didnt want to leave this place but was tempted by the free bicycles and beach chairs and you name it theyve thought of it. Even things you would never think of is provided for. Coty was so hospitable and patient and welcoming. Parking was awesome, right at our door. Location is perfect, short walk to pier, restaurants, shops, beach, just about everything. The free bike was a plus we had a blast riding the bikes they also had beach chairs and towels. The place had free parking. The place was decorated and the landscape was attractive. Comment: Coolest hotel Ive every stayed in. You practically feel like you just moved into a studio apartment right off of the beach. They give you just about everything you need minus a washer/dryer. You can tell they care about giving you a good experience with all of the small touches. The location is also amazing. You have direct access to the beach and you can also take a 10 minute walk over to the funk zone and find a lot of dining and bars to explore. Didnt feel unsafe at all walking at night with my GF. My only regret is I didnt stay longer. I will definitely be picking this place if Im ever in town again.

Comment: Super super super cute hotel!!! I’m so happy that we chose here to stay. The hotel room is very clean, good size and well organized. They are so thoughtful to have a small kitchen including coffee maker, water heater, microwave and all the silverware, cups and plates. The bathroom is wide and clean, and they prepared 4 bath towels. You can also get some free snacks and fruits at front desk office. I definitely will recommend my friends this cute place.

Small fridge but workable, well stocked kitchen which is great if you are not into waiting in lines to get breakfast. Liked free cruiser bike access, which we used a lot to get to State St and SB Public Market restaurants. Great location on a quieter street but basically a block from the Harbor. Very friendly people.

Comment: I highly recommend the Harbor House Inn. From the moment my wife and I arrived, we felt welcomed at this very charming hotel. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. I cannot emphasize enough how the hospitality made our stay so much better. We had a deluxe queen studio room which was very clean upon our arrival. The room was very nicely decorated and had everything we needed. There are some nice, subtle touches that show that the owners really care about the comfort of their guests including free Netflix, new slippers for the room (really nice touch!), cordless mobile phone charger, and extra towels. The air conditioning and heating worked great. The room was a perfect size for my wife and me. A major bonus is that bicycles are available for guests to use. Ill be honest. I was expecting low-end beat up bikes but the the bicycles are new and in excellent condition. Beach chairs and towels are also available for guest use. The location is fantastic--just a block to the beach. Free parking. We got a great rate booking directly on the hotels website (it was lower than any third party website that I checked). In short, we had a great stay and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

A friend and I booked a room through hotels tonight because the description was “charming,” and I’ve never stayed in a place that fit the description more! When we arrived, Cody at the front desk offered us an upgraded room and accommodated our two vehicles! He gave us great tips on the area and they have beach cruisers that can be borrowed and used around town, which we did even after we had checked out of the inn, and the beach is only a block away! Amazing touches abound, from the fruit and snacks basket in the reception area to the fully stocked, full kitchen in our room. The bed was super plush, the space clean and bright and the staff all friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be recommending the Harbor House Inn to any and everyone!

Having been a hospitality laundry service provider for over 30 years and a consultant to 4 and 5 star brand properties, I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the bed linen and towels. Plus, the bed was extremely comfortable. I will admit, the room amenities were a definite hit with me. The mini-kitchen area was extremely clean and well supplied with all the utensils. Lastly, the guest service attendants (Paul and Carlin) were available to assist me with any additional needs during my stay. I cant wait to go back...

The room was beautiful and super clean with a great little kitchen fully stocked with coffee and tea. Extremely close to state street and all the great places to eat. The staff there is the real gem though, we were beyond impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to take care of our every need! If I could give 10 stars I would. Fast forward to this past weekend. We had a last minute trip come up and we were hoping to stay there again. Come to find out it was a busy weekend and all the rooms were full at most hotels. The guy at the front desk of harbor house called all the surrounding hotels until he found us a great place to stay! It is fully equipped for cooking breakfast, reheating leftovers from all the wonderful restaurants nearby. The bed was perfect and had extra pillows which I require. The location is perfect for us because we like to walk on the beach and eat at places nearby.The office staff is very friendly, helpful and obviously appreciate where they work. The cleaning staff is outstanding - our room was (literally) the consistently cleanest room Ive ever had. Comment: My husband and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon and had the best time. When we checked in, we got restaurant recommendations, free beach chairs, towels, and bikes anytime we wanted. Also, there was a food basket, bottle of wine, and a super kind note congratulating us on our marriage waiting for us in the room. And the room was fairly isolated which we loved. We didnt have to walk through a lobby or see many people if we didnt want to. The beach was a 3 minute walk away, and there were restaurants and ice cream within a short walk as well. The heart of downtown SB (and Dune Coffee which we loved) was just a 5 minute drive away. We couldnt have asked for a better, more private first get away together. If we ever get back in the SB area, we will absolutely stay here again.

I am a Uber/Lyft Driver and the riders (who happens to be the most sweetest people) left a cell phone in my car. I didnt notice until my next rider found the phone in San Luis Obispo. So, I know Im not working tomorrow and I live in lompoc I drive back to this joint and tried to leave the cell at the front desk. The moment we checked in with Paul we were welcomed with his calming presence and magic via Cody! Both gentlemen were absolutely amazing. Paul was very easy going and Cody, whom I corresponded with via email, made our trip that much more magical.Harbor House Inn is clean and quaint. Its not quite a hotel, nor is it a motel. Its more like a cottage. :) However, they have the same amenities as a hotel!When we walked into the king unit which had a fireplace and kitchen, I was absolutely blown away by how cute it was! I exclaimed to my fiance, I could actually live here! LOLThe place was immaculate and buzzing with positive energy. The linens and towels are high quality too. I fell absolutely in love with the place and wished we had booked 2 nights instead of 1. The place is delightful and romantic. 💕 (On a side note, if youre a light sleeper or enjoy sleeping in, make sure to bring earplugs because the crows may wake you up around 7AM with their morning talk. :) We brought earplugs).Besides Harbor House Inn being absolutely wonderful, it is also only a hop, skip and a jump to the beach, and an easy 14 minute stroll to State Streets action. I chose this place because of the reviews and they fell short of the experience. The location is quite good: a block away from the beach and the marina; walking distance to downtown. But heres the thing: there is a commitment to excellence unparalleled in my experience. I give all credit for this to Karen, the owner. She sets the tone from the top down. It is not a large place, yet it is perfect. Every detail attended to by a carefully selected staff who from the outset make one feel welcome and special. Free bikes, free parking, free wi-fis, smart tvs, a welcome basket in each room with every delicious treat imaginable.But more than anything a staff who strives to make every guest feel special, important, and welcome. No wonder the great reviews! Aside from Karen, the owner, OMG Tanya! A radiant soul if ever there was one! Comment: I could not love this place more! My husband and I just spent 4 days for my 40th birthday at the harbor house. It is composed of rooms that are a bit like little apartments. The buildings are not new but all the finishes have clearly been thought out and are of very high quality. The setting is lovely and well-kept. Paul at the front desk was helpful over the phone and in person. The welcome basket in our kitchenette was surprising and full of goodies, including some very tasty banana bread. The bed probably the best bed Ive ever slept on and the sheets were a dream. The room had a fan which I appreciated. The bathroom was clean and pretty with a great tub and shower. The Harbor House Inn is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and was an awesome find for our trip.

Comment: Loved our stay at the Harbor House Inn. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room along side the place was very cute. It is a very short walk to the beach and there is a lot of good places just a short walk away. They also have bikes, beach chairs and towels for guest to use. The bikes came in handy since we did not have a car. I cant wait to stay here again.

Comment: WINDERFUL place to start! The rooms were very clean and comfortable! The beds were very comfortable. Nice kitchen area!! Staff was extremely helpful. If you stay 2 nights, the staff makes a Hugh basket with goodies and the BEST freshly made banana nut bread, it is 1 minute from the beach. Cant wait to stay there again!

I like to read reviews before I decide on a hotel stay.My experience on the phone with Paul at the front desk was very pleasant that I had a feeling this was the place to stay.I was pleasantly surprised how cute, cozy, very clean and comfortable this cute inn is. I think it’s a little gem a bit tucked away from view.The hotel offers a complimentary welcome basket with their famous banana nut bread and it’s delicious 😋 and much much more.They have free Netflix! Free WiFi, free Parking! Free bike rental!Did I tell you that the room has hair dryer, personal mirror for makeup ladies, has all the comforts you expect and more....I have a difficult time sleeping if the bed is too firm. The beds in the room are adequate for a firm and somewhat soft sleeper. They have robes and slippers in your room.... okay. I said enough...under $300 per night min of two nights stay a must stay place.

Comment: We just checked in and the first impression we had when booking was immediately confirmed! The room is very nice, has a small kitchen and is super cozy. As a welcome there was a basket with fruit, drinks and freshly baked banana-nut bread.The staff goes out of their way to fulfill all your wishes - the service is sensational. This doesnt exist in expensive hotels! Bicycles, beach chairs and much more included in the price! Netflix is also available on top.Can just be recommended!! 👍🏻

Comment: The wife and I planned a quick get away to Santa Barbara and were looking for a hotel close to the beach that was reasonably priced. We got a room that was a little bungalow apart from the main part of the hotel. This was great because it was like having your own studio.The room was totally furnished with a complete kitchen. The TV had everything you could want including streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.Staff was very friendly and they even have bikes that you can borrow. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach and about 15 minutes from downtown.

Comment: I love this place. We originally stayed two years ago and were blown away by the space, location and the service so we came back again this year. The rooms are fantastic..more like one bedroom apartments, with everything you could want supplied including a very generous welcome basket of food and snacks (the homemade banana and walnut loaf is beautiful). Since our first visit, management have made even more improvements, with large smart TVs in each room. The TVs have Netflix preloaded so if you do want to watch TV, you are spoilt for choice.I cannot fault the accommodation here, its clean, well furnished and styled and there is parking and outside seating with each room. The kitchens have everything you could want, including cartons of milk as opposed to sachets of whitener, and a cannister of ground coffee instead of a couple of coffee bags. It all helps give an overall feeling that nothing is too much trouble. Staff are consistently awesome, and whenever you visit reception you get a cheerful and very comprehensive service, including great local tips and recommendations. When you stay at harbour house, you can use the bikes, beach towels and beach chairs stored in the garage which is a huge benefit. Cycling to the centre of town is easy and a great way to see the gorgeous coast, pier and shopping centre of Santa Barbara.I will definitely be back to harbour house inn, its a brilliant place to stay with a fantastic team of professionals behind it.

Comment: Santa Barbara is such a lovely town made even much better by the Harbor House Inn. We stayed in a quaint, charming cottage complete with amenities and a full functional kitchen. The bed was comfortable and inviting after a long day relaxing in the beach. The modest bathroom sparkled with sunshine coming in through the window. Lounge chairs in the common area provide plenty more opportunity to bask in the sun. They provide beach cruiser bikes, helmets, beach towels, and body boards which are free of charge to guests. Such a delightful inn! I would definitely return!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area which resulted in great dining choices. The location is perfect for walking to pretty much anything in the area. Comment: We were greeted with a basket of homemade banana bread, fruit, breakfast bars, and other treats. They have a selection of dvds that can be rented at no charge. The room was large, had high ceilings, and real hard wood floors. The sheets were extremely soft. Seriously, the sheets were so nice and the bed was very comfortable. This place was so impressive, I could go on... When I visit Santa Barbara again, I will only go back to Harbor House Inn. We stayed at a couple of other places that were more expensive, but we were only disappointed.

Comment: My wife and I visited Santa Barbara for the first time last week, and I wanted to do my due diligence on a place to stay (for our 28th anniversary). The Harbor House was a GREAT choice!! What I learned from the other comments are spot on. The welcome basket was nice, the room was excellent, free access to their bikes for riding wherever you want. Hopitality of personnel was great. We will only recommend this place for friends and family. BTW, Santa Barbara was beautiful and relaxing.
