Peets Coffee

The dude working the orders/register was malfunctioning. I asked for a black tea, chocolate chip cookie, sm decaf coffee, and a muffin. He says back to me cold brew, chocolate chip... I correct him and he then restates the order, but then tells me that tea is either black, green or herbal. As if Ive never heard of tea! I started looking for the blooper cameras, but I think he was just high or stupid. I looked him in the eyes and said black like I was an American abroad trying to convey meaning in English. So all good? Nope. He took my name and I waited.... Got a cookie. Waited.... Finally some dude that needs a raise (2 star review is actually a 1 for the register guy and a 5 for the barista-- faded tattoo on left arm-- good dude! Give that dude a medal and a raise.) ... anyway, the barista asks what I was waiting on and I have the gist, but neglected the decaf part of my order... he starts from scratch and I get a coffee my wife cant drink because the register guy is an idiot. Again, 5 stars to the barista (I think he had a beard) and no stars for the child mansplaining tea to me that doesnt know the difference between iced tea and cold brew in the first place. At least my dead mother in law got her tea, but Im pretty sure Im never ordering from that guy again. I miss Rachel!
Peets Coffee
1295 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126, United States
Ive been coming to this petes for 2 years nearly every day! Superb customer service. The same core of employees have worked there as long as Ive been going with new faces here and there but from what I understand they do use the facility to train employees for other locations. I couldnt tell you the last time I actually had to give my order they know it by heart and most of the time have it ready for me by the time I pay. This Petes location can get extremely busy however the Charisma and energy of the staff make it worth the wait. Every day that I come here I see the interaction between staff and patrons many times knowing each other by first name basis. This touch of care and personal interaction goes a long way in my decision of being a faithful and regular Petes customer. You guys rock! Keep up the great hard work and you always have a faithful customer in me.
Qargo Coffee - San Jose
31 Rio Robles E, San Jose, CA 95134, United States
I have been to this cafe three times. And every time something was wrong. Today I ordered: Latte, Boba tea, and watermelon lemonade, and sweets for children.First they made me an iced coffee, even though no one asked me when I ordered if I wanted it cold. When I said I wanted hot coffee, they made me a new latte, but it was very hot and the coffee was impossible to drink. I burned my tongue. And my coffee was not tasty!Boba tea was given to us after 10 minutes of waiting, I think they just forgot about Boba tea.The lemonade I ordered for my son smelled like rotten eggs and it contained a set of spices that were not mentioned anywhere. It was very disgusting ? and the aftertaste stayed in my mouth for more than an hour ((((.I do not recommend this cafe.I was served by a husband and wife who dont seem to understand how to make drinks. The cafe needs a real barista!!!
Peets Coffee
377 Santana Row #1130, San Jose, CA 95128, United States
This store may be popular for many others. Today I decided to have a coffee outside after months. I have experienced two incidents here.1. I asked for ceramic cup for my coffee and employee handed to me a cup seem to be unwashed. I tried to wipe off the dripped line of coffee outside with my finger and it did not go away. It means the cup has been like that for awhile. I asked for replace to paper cup and employee did with unhappy face.2. I have reward to Peets, and today I tried to open the app while I order. The employee was supposed to ask me before she closed my transaction. When I was able to open, and she told my that she already closed my transaction. And she started to lecture me that I need to do than scanning when I am ordering which is I know. Won't go here ever again.
Peets Coffee
1088 E Brokaw Rd #80, San Jose, CA 95131, United States
The worst coffee experience I have ever had in my life!!! I come to this location several times a week, its my birthday, I came in with my family today and we all purchased a drink and my father choose an order something that he normally does not. Quite frankly it was disgusting, he tried it and he told them he did not like the cardamum, the barista in the back said they would be happy to make him something else. And he was discussing the drink in a polite manner, while she made a new one, and some random dude that ordered his drink that had no idea or sense of the conversation comes over and yells at my father and calles him a derogatory name, which is not family friendly. He had literally nothing to do with anything. And my father asks him to repeat and not only does he say it again BUT THE BARISTA REPEATED WHAT HE SAID IN THE OFENDERS DEFENSE!!!! I'm not really sure, maybe it was like the baristas boyfriend or something, definitely not cool. I was in shock, my father asked the gentleman to talk outside and he continued to antagonize my father. I told the man to have a nice day and we left. It honestly ruined my birthday and as much as I go there I will never ever step foot in that place again. I worked in retail for multiple years and that would never fly in a customer service oriented business, Peet's might want to consider some more training on what it mean to represent a company. Lol, go to Philz, much friendlier. (:
Peets Coffee
1330 El Paseo de Saratoga, San Jose, CA 95130, United States
They recently changed their hours so that they are only open until 8pm! This is pretty strange considering that its summer, the movie theater in El Paseo is much busier now that the AMC theater in Vallco shut down, and its not even dark at that time ? I seriously think theyre missing out on a lot of business. They also put a code on the bathroom door, so maybe they were having problems with non-customers using the bathroom before? Its anyones guess. All I know is that during the short time I was there, every single person they told the code to had troube opening the door because they just had to throw a special chatacter in at the end of a long string of numbers that no one could remember. ?♀️They make good coffee and pastries/baked goods and their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The strawberry pop tart had a nice pastry crust that appeared to have been brushed with egg white to give it that egg sheen. The filling tasted *exactly* like Smuckers strawberry jelly ??... In fact, I think it might have been Smuckers strawberry jelly... Whether thats good or bad is up to you.One thing that struck me as odd is that while they have a bunch of unusual ingredients to make strange concoctions, like tumeric and ginger for golden drinks, they have an extremely limited selection of more standard flavored syrups. No raspberry, no strawberry, no berry of any kind... Basically just chocolate, honey, and coconut...oh yeah, and tumeric ?? ?Their golden drinks are really a Wintry flavor profile anyway (hence why theyre not currently listed on the menu). They currently have NO SPECIALS (just said they can still make the tumeric stuff), NO fruit flavors, and an extremely LIMITED SELECTION of syrups. Come on, guys! Dont rest on your laurels. What are you doing to keep up with the competition?Get your tumeric latte before 8pm!

Baristas need training!I go to a peets coffee almost every day. Usually Fremont or Dublin. This one is is the only around my house for miles, so I usually only go here on the weekends. I would say in the last 3 to 4 months I have not recieved one correctly made drink. Todays experience... I ordered my usual, large iced caramel macchiato. When I recieved it it was maybe 80% full with the rest all foam, ice was melted and there was almost no flavor. I kindly expressed my disappointment and asked for a new drink. (I never do this because it makes you look like a picky person). They were understanding and made me another drink. The next one came and it was so sweet it was undrinkable. Im talking 0 coffee flavor. I continually praise peets on how much better they are compared to the competitors. This is true, but definitely not at this location. I usually spend over 200 bucks a month at peets so I really expect better. I think I have written 2 reviews in my life so this might tell you how dissatisfied I am. Step up your game yall. I would suggest having the baristas head the the one on Tasajara in Dublin for some training cause these baristas are pretty much flawless.

I've always liked peets . This location is great in the sense that the location is beautiful; I love downtown Willow Glen and I think peets is a great place to stop for coffee or tea in a place where there's plenty of outdoor shopping or dining to do. Only criticism I have is that today my customer service I received wasn't the best. I have been to this location many times in the past, and I've had good service then, but today I just felt like my barista at the register didn't care . I asked if the anniversary peetnik beverage reward (if you have the app) was free or I needed to make a purchase to redeem a free drink . Her energy was lacking to serve me and I just didn't feel she cared enough to be there . I'm not expecting perfection but you can just try to display some more energy in your tone . When the lady behind her overheard that I wanted the brown sugar oat milk latte with jellies, she was like “from 2Pm onward.” I don't recall the exact wording but it was something along these lines. At first I didn't know what she meant —- I interpreted that like I couldn't order that specific drink until 2pm cuz they don't serve it till 2pm? She then stated “but since it's for your anniversary free drink reward that's fine.” Again I don't recall exact wording but it was something along these lines. I would completely understand if you can't serve a drink till a certain time but even then— your jellies beverage part of the menu literally has no caption saying that ; unless you meant something totally different . It was so confusing . Long story short - I got the drink. It was good but it could've been a tad sweeter . I feel like peets needs to add a little more flavor to this drink, besides the sweetness of the brown sugar syrup. There was still flavor but there could've been more . I do like that peets is adding drinks w jellies however the prices are a bit ridiculous. Granted, today I did not have to pay since I had my coupon however it would've been around $7 for a medium roughly of this drink. I know the jellies are supposed to make it “luxurious” but I'm sorry $7 is a lot for a medium cup of that. Hence why I'm selective whenever I'm paying for drinks
Coffee & Water Lab
603 Saratoga Ave #40, San Jose, CA 95129, United States
Ive been a regular at Coffee & Water Lab for quite awhile now, but figured I should stop to write a review because I think more people should know about this place. I drove by their sign in Mitsuwa Market/Strawberry Plaza many times on the way to work before pure curiosity motivated me to try it out. The owners Luis and Amy have put together a great concept and vibe, with cutting edge machines such as the Poursteady automated drip and Bkon extraction systems, all utilizing the ph-balanced alkaline water. As someone who has roasted their own coffee, I immediately noticed the Bellweather electric roasting machine in the back of the cafe. I had seen a Bellweather a few years ago at another local roasting business calleo High Note Coffee. Its a very unique roaster that is well-suited for public spaces due to its amazing ability to combust coffee waste without smoke. Compared to the billowing smoke coming out of most major coffee roasting facilities with gas-powered Probats and Diedrichs, the Bellweather produces little odor and is environmentally safe. The drink menu is pretty diverse. For the coffee purists, there is a full espresso bar and a pour over menu of several freshly roasted single-origin beans anywhere from Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, Rwanda, Indonesia, Costa Rica, or wherever they find a quality source. They also have an excellent cold brew which looks somewhat light in color but certainly not in flavor. For non-coffee drinkers, they also have a lot of options such as Granita ground-ice drinks that are stored in perpetually-mixing dispensers, with jasmine tea and thai iced tea flavors, which also serve as the foundation of other flavored drinks such as the Lychee Mojito and Black Sugar Milk Tea.There is something for just about anyone here. Everything from the coffee to the food has been carefully curated. Its good to see a coffee roasting cafe passionate about their craft. Ive ventured many times to local roasters such as Barefoot, Chromatic, Voyager and further out to Blue Bottle, Verve, Ritual, Four Barrel, Sightglass, Linea, Wrecking Ball, etc. It may sound like hyperbole, but Coffee & Water Lab has been my favorite place to go for the most genuine expression of coffee in the South Bay since they first opened. It would be easy to imagine them opening up new spots throughout the Bay with how popular they are already.

If you live and love pinball like me, then you must visit, and continue to come back. It is coin drop, but they do provide a change machine, as well as counter service. They have some snacks, but if you need more substantial you can go next door to Hapas brew pub and food truck, or walk to nearby food places. They have superb pins, that are well maintained and newest Sterns including LEs, Jersey Jack, Chicago Gaming, Spooky, and some great SS, usually rotating in different machines. Check the website for current lineup.I would say the negative is the parking situation, but everything else is the best.
