We moved out of the area but every trip back there we go there for coffee and my the staff are still really top quality and make the coffee experience that much better. Comment: The dude working the orders/register was malfunctioning. I asked for a black tea, chocolate chip cookie, sm decaf coffee, and a muffin. He says back to me cold brew, chocolate chip... I correct him and he then restates the order, but then tells me that tea is either black, green or herbal. As if Ive never heard of tea! I started looking for the blooper cameras, but I think he was just high or stupid. I looked him in the eyes and said black like I was an American abroad trying to convey meaning in English. So all good? Nope. He took my name and I waited.... Got a cookie. Waited.... Finally some dude that needs a raise (2 star review is actually a 1 for the register guy and a 5 for the barista-- faded tattoo on left arm-- good dude! Give that dude a medal and a raise.) ... anyway, the barista asks what I was waiting on and I have the gist, but neglected the decaf part of my order... he starts from scratch and I get a coffee my wife cant drink because the register guy is an idiot. Again, 5 stars to the barista (I think he had a beard) and no stars for the child mansplaining tea to me that doesnt know the difference between iced tea and cold brew in the first place. At least my dead mother in law got her tea, but Im pretty sure Im never ordering from that guy again. I miss Rachel!

Comment: Ive had nothing but bad luck with Peets, which is sad because I like their actual coffee better than most places. Unfortunately at both locations Ive tried in San Jose they cant make a cappuccino to save their lives. The drink I got today seemed to be just coffee with milk and foam. When the cup is full you know there is something wrong, but I just took it and left without complaining. Last time they filled the whole cup with cream and dropped a couple shots in. It was sickening and actually went back to complain. The guy who remade it made a perfect cappuccino but it seems most of the staff at both locations doesnt know how to make the different drinks they serve.

Floor was dirty, toilet paper dispenser was open, hand paper was out. Pieces of toilet paper were scattered on the floor, the mess previous user made was left (its not completely their fault). Restrooms shows how the staff take their business, I think.

I ordered a double decaf expresso in a tall cup and added 1/2&1/2 it has a sweet bitter bold creamy taste that I expect out of my expresso but has some notes that seemed off for my palate. Having had plenty of Peets in my day. I will not reorder the decaf expresso at this location again. Bottom line was my coffee good? (No) why? Actually its not because of the coffee Believe it or not, its because I walked into the restroom and it was filthy the walls and door are filthy as though they havent been cleaned in weeks or months, so it makes me concerned about the hygiene of the baristas.

Comment: As far as Im concerned, Peets creates coffee the same way the Silicon Valley creates technology - with heart, soul and a lot of hard work. Their beans and blends are fantastic (try Major Dickasons or Ethiopian Fancy) and they keep it real at their cafes. They are friendly, helpful and they know their coffee and tea. And yes, you can even put your own cream and sugar in your own coffee, to your liking (unlike at some other higher-end coffee shops. Please!). I love Peets. Its a Bay Area original and I am a fan. 20 years strong!

Comment: Of all the Peets, this one is my favorite. The staff is so nice. Some of the younger kids are a little lacking in work ethic, but the managers more than make up for it. Its kinda like visiting a neighbor when you go here.

Comment: I love this Peets. The staff are always very friendly, courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products. Their coffee and espresso are consistently excellent, and management is always good about correcting any mistakes and guiding their team. I plan on being a loyal Peetnik for a long time at this location!
