Comment: I dont know how I missed this place when Im pretty much in the area every week but Im glad I went a fee days ago!This place was actually suggested by my significant other although he hasnt been here himself yet. He just knew it was by Mitsuwa so today, I took it upon myself to go and purposely took my work stuff with me. I definitely felt comfortable as I entered because almost everyone was working on their phones/laptops so this is a heads for you if you’ve never been there.My first impression of the cafe was that it was spacious, open, and bright which is my preferred work space and no loud music! Even thought it was pretty busy, I was able to grab a table right away.I ordered their matcha latte and avocado toast. I like to drink my matcha latte iced and sweet so I asked for an extra pump of vanilla syrup and it was perfect! Their toast was also delicious, I devoured it within 5 minutes.Im giving this place a 5 star because I was able to put my head down and work with little to no distraction! I see why a lot of people come to this place and I definitely will come back!

Comment: There’s a slight lineup during our weekend visit. They offer pourover options ranging from light to dark roast per each, using poursteady machine at the counter instead of hand pour. Coffee tastes great. My light roast had notes of strawberry and a bright, acidic flavor. They also sell self-roasted beans with price listed on the packaging.The space is minimalist with a white color scheme. Table area is packed and crowded, with many people using computers.

Coffee & Water Lab has excellent coffees both as the roasts as well as how their espressos, cortados and cappuccinos turn out. Comment: Ive been a regular at Coffee & Water Lab for quite awhile now, but figured I should stop to write a review because I think more people should know about this place. I drove by their sign in Mitsuwa Market/Strawberry Plaza many times on the way to work before pure curiosity motivated me to try it out. The owners Luis and Amy have put together a great concept and vibe, with cutting edge machines such as the Poursteady automated drip and Bkon extraction systems, all utilizing the ph-balanced alkaline water.As someone who has roasted their own coffee, I immediately noticed the Bellweather electric roasting machine in the back of the cafe. I had seen a Bellweather a few years ago at another local roasting business calleo High Note Coffee. Its a very unique roaster that is well-suited for public spaces due to its amazing ability to combust coffee waste without smoke. Compared to the billowing smoke coming out of most major coffee roasting facilities with gas-powered Probats and Diedrichs, the Bellweather produces little odor and is environmentally safe.The drink menu is pretty diverse. For the coffee purists, there is a full espresso bar and a pour over menu of several freshly roasted single-origin beans anywhere from Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, Rwanda, Indonesia, Costa Rica, or wherever they find a quality source. They also have an excellent cold brew which looks somewhat light in color but certainly not in flavor. For non-coffee drinkers, they also have a lot of options such as Granita ground-ice drinks that are stored in perpetually-mixing dispensers, with jasmine tea and thai iced tea flavors, which also serve as the foundation of other flavored drinks such as the Lychee Mojito and Black Sugar Milk Tea.There is something for just about anyone here. Everything from the coffee to the food has been carefully curated. Its good to see a coffee roasting cafe passionate about their craft. Ive ventured many times to local roasters such as Barefoot, Chromatic, Voyager and further out to Blue Bottle, Verve, Ritual, Four Barrel, Sightglass, Linea, Wrecking Ball, etc. It may sound like hyperbole, but Coffee & Water Lab has been my favorite place to go for the most genuine expression of coffee in the South Bay since they first opened. It would be easy to imagine them opening up new spots throughout the Bay with how popular they are already.

(Wasnt too busy after lunch time on a Friday) They occasionally have deals on their beans too. Ended up buying two bags and they are awesome! Would totally recommend coming here to chill and also to get some really well-roasted beans!

Comment: They say they have special filtered water which makes their drinks taste extra * c r i s p * and I will testify that the London fog DID taste a little more clear and clean than other London fogs I’ve had.Also cool local artwork inside which I love when cafes do that!! 💯🍊 korean jeju tangerine juice and espresso with candied orange. Definitely a different taste, like coffee undertone and orange juice finish. Also thicker like a no pulp orange juice consistency.🇬🇧London fog milk tea granita - which was basically like a London fog milk tea slushie. Absolutely delicious and worth a return!!!

I came here for coffee chat with my collage friends and catch up. I ordered HoneyDew macha latte, it costed $ 6.75 and it was delicious and special. They have dessert options and it looks delicious and beautiful but I didn’t try any. There’s some seating along the wall, but not too much. The Coffee & Water folks are clearly more interested in the cold tea beverage things, which most customers seemed to be drinking. Most disappointing was that the cappuccino was poured without care - not worth the premium price.

Comment: This place has a nice modern design and an own little coffee roaster machine. Usually it is quite crowded. Despite pretending to be a higher-quality third-wave coffee shop, this place offers no customer-oriented service. When you come, the baristas are usually busy with their own business, not caring about customers at all - so you have to put some effort to attract their attention and make an order. Then, it takes a long wait time to receive your drink, and sometimes they just forget about you. I had to wait for my coffee for more than 20 minutes at least twice. One time they lost my order, another time they made the drink but forgot to tell me, so in the end I received a cold cappuccino with a dissolved milk foam (no apologies, of course). Even when the drink is served on time, it does not taste great, its just okay. The place is not worse than an average Starbucks, but it does not meet the expectations that you may have for an artisanal coffee shop that they are pretending to be.

Comment: It’s got the equipment to be a legit 3rd wave coffee cafe (something San Jose seems to struggle with) but staffing seems to be an issue in the times I’ve been.Micro roasting, water lab, and all the other bells and whistles show the owner is intending to make a premium product. So if you don’t want your drink to be too sweet, remember to ask them to adjust the sweetness for you!Amongst the food we ordered, my favorites were the Blueberry Mascarpone Toast and the Avocado Toast. The Blueberry Mascarpone is sweet, slight tartness from the blueberries, and pair perfectly with the creaminess of mascarpone. I always love avocado toast, but this one is really good! I think the umami of the seasoning pair well with mayonnaise on top!Overall, I enjoyed the food here. I would come again and next time I will try a latte without any add ons!

Comment: Gonna wait to write a full review on this place after Ive been a few more times but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt and rate at 4They have specialized machines for drip and cold brew. I was impressed by the state of the art coffee equipment and curious to try some of the other coffee options. Maple cold brew was smooth n icy. I would have liked it sweeter to taste more maple but I think the ice melted so fast and watered down the drink .Maybe I need to drink faster ?!Egg toasty and matcha waffle pop were surprise menu items. Its a must try. Especially in the afternoon when you don’t need caffeine, I was very happy with the freshness of their decaf. The maple lemon scone was delicious and fresh baked. Good service and clean environment. Must try if you are into mochas and love dark chocolate. They serve pretty generous quantity for the price unlike the other coffee giants.Madagascar latte is something I am looking forward to try next.

Comment: Super chic coffee shop in the Mitsuwa marketplace area, absolutely delicious. Very focused menu, mostly coffee with some tea creations, and don’t expect any boba toppings to cloud your drink experience. Cold drinks are served in boba-esque containers, so you’d be forgiven for thinking there were toppings. Lots of tables, WiFi available, and some reasonable pastry items. Stop by if you’re a coffee nerd! They have nitro coffee :)

Comment: The perfect name for a minimalist & beautiful coffee place. My hubby order a Dark chocolate mocha- excellent- and I try my favorite drink, Matcha that comes with house Vanilla Syrup. All the drinks come in 22 oz. They also have alkaline waters with peaches watermelon or blueberry flavors 🍉Inside AC 👍Outdoor setting al fresco 😄 On the down side: Wifi is not too strong 💪 but no a big problem for me. Thanks hotspot 🥵I highly recommend this place ☕️ We’ll come back. Comment: This review is based solely on two drinks: the London fog & the maple cold brew. Both were absolutely delish!If you’re a earl grey lover, you will LOVE the London fog. The taste of the earl grey is strong, creamy, & most importantly not overly sweet!!! The milk does not overpower the drink like most earl milk teas. 10/10 recommend.If you’re a coffee lover or extreme critic, you might not be impressed with the cold brew. It was a light brew, perfectly sweeten, made for a mild coffee drinker looking for a caffeine boost. (Might not be strong enough for daily coffee drinkers).There are a decent amount of tables here for working, with a wide entrance so you don’t feel suffocated. There are also two tables outside if you do not feel comfortable sitting inside.I will definitely be back to try their other milk teas!
