Comment: Hadnt been here in a long time. Menu did not really read as Mediterranean but both of our dishes were excellent, salmon and sea bream. Really really good food. Our server Ignacio was attentive and gracious. The bar was out of some ingredients, which made the special cocktail menu obsolete… However the bartender literally came over to our table and worked out what we might like instead of our original orders, and the drinks thus negotiated were so good we ordered seconds. The restaurant was festively decorated with Christmas trees, which I was hoping for and appreciated. It was very quiet, I hope business picks up because we had a lovely experience and its different from my usual hot dining spots in Berkeley where you can hardly hear yourself speak much less hear your dining companion. Our overall experience was relaxed and elevated.

The food was ok in taste and really expensive. I learned that there was only one bartender which is why our drinks took a long time to arrive. What I do not appreciate is the snappy attitude one waiter had on top of all the smaller disappointments.

Comment: Very disappointing Christmas buffet: turkey was pre sliced and so dry it it was inedible. Prime rib fine but missing horseradish. Baked salmon served i on slices was decent . Only 2-3 sides were offered and none stood out- I remember boring Brussels sprouts. Mashed potatoes and dressing were like most. Just fine. fine. Only one salad - the usual tossed green. And for appetizers The usual Brie and few other cheeses and bland hummus.Desserts were scant: pumpkin pie, baklava, ok lemon bars and apple pie. This “ spread” was priced at $69 pp with 18% service charge added.Very unimaginative menu. They need to stick to their specialty Mediterranean ; they missed the boat trying to offer a “ traditional “ Christmas buffet. Didn’t come close to their predecessor “.Five”.

Comment: $70 per person for an inadequate buffet plus $40 “service fee” and expected gratuities on top of it!! Dry turkey, dry salmon, $64 bottle of wine, 2 dessert selections-most of which was pumpkin pie. Incredibly slow table service. Had to ask for the check twice. Wait bar staff were just hanging around talking. Our waitress forgot about us. I have never left a review for anything but I feel very ripped off and dissatisfied. Never again and will tell other Berkeley neighbors not to go!!

Comment: Classy atmosphere with a bar area separating the hotel lobby and restaurant area. Good selection of bar bites - and drink mean is well curated. Some nights have live music, which isnt too loud and sounds great! A nice place to celebrate anything.

Comment: The service is fantastic. The Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their foods. Coffee is the best and they are proud they serve San Francisco Peerless Brand Coffee. I am a huge fan now of this delicious and bold tasting coffee. The food is good. The breakfast menu is limited. They are fast with their service and the food is hot. I look forward to trying their dinners. Reasonably priced and a Mediterranean cuisine. I give the bar a Five Star hands down for their epic drinks 🍸 Marlon is the supervisor and he has many Specialty crafted Cocktails. Great service and friendly staff.

Comment: I was excited for this dining experience. The facility is beautiful and has an air of refinement. We made a reservation for dinner. We arrived 30 minutes early and asked to have a drink in the bar. The staff was clearly overwhelmed; however the restaurant was only at about half capacity. While we were told by the bartender he would come get our drink order, he did not. We waited 15 minutes and had to go place our own order. When it was time for our reservation, we went to the hostess stand where we stood for another 15 minutes without any greeting or acknowledgement. We were shown to our table only to discover that you order your own food via your phone, not through a server. Aside from the small plates, there were only 4 entrees to choose from. Needless to say, nobody in our group could understand why the service was so terrible. A restaurant with a very limited menu, only about half full and you place your order through your phone. Instead of this being the refined dining experience we were hoping for, we felt as if our business was not valued. We finished our drinks and left without ordering dinner. Not sure about the quality of food as we didn’t even get to that point; however I will never return.

Comment: We had a perfect meal from the cocktails through appetizers and dinner. I must begin with the perfect setting, which is a very elegant room beautiful, spacious and quiet. Then the wait staff are fun, efficient, and knowledgeable and so helpful. The food was interesting because if it’s focus on the Magreb region of the Middle East and the flavors and spices all of which were very tasteful. The cocktails were wonderful and bartender worked with us to select artisanal liquors. We had three salads as an appetizer. For entrees my husband had the wild caught salmon and I had lamb tagine which was tender and included lots of vegetables including fresh peas again perfectly spiced on a bed of couscous. This is my new favorite place in the East Bay!!

Comment: This rating is based on food. Staff were friendly and helpful give them 4 stars. Food was a disappointment. I had the vegetable tagine and their fattoush. The vegetable tagine was basically three pieces of cauliflower with very little seasoning placed on a bowl of hummus. The fattoush was bitter and after two bites passed it to my friend who agreed and couldnt finish it off.Nice interior, would come back for that and the cocktails - pass on their food.

Comment: By far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. A very welcoming and posh atmosphere, the food was phenomenal and presented in a elegant manner. Our server Josue was very hospitable. He knew his menu well and provided excellent menu suggestions. The chef jasmin and manager Dave came out to greet us and ensure that everything was satisfactory. All staff were very attentive. I specifically recall the busser Jesus checking in on us quite often to ensure a delightful experience. Definitely a local gem.

From the elegant atmosphere to the attentive staff and the amazing food and cocktails, I was absolutely blown away. I ordered the Herbs de Fresca to drink: so light and fresh! Everything I tried was incredible...and lets just say the fluke was anything but!

I had the lamb which fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. Friends had chicken/vegetable tagine. Somehow we found room for dessert and that was just as delicious. Chocolate tart and the peach tart are a must! The gelato on top was delightful by itself.
