Comment: Don’t waste your time and money here. Yegane bakery used to be a nice brunch/ breakfast place. I don’t know what has changed in this restaurant, but it’s the worst place now.We got food poisoned with its Halim a while ago. We decided to give it another try today, after several months. We ordered Halim again. This time was even worse. It was like chicken soup (nothing like Halim), with awful chicken smell. I’m not sure if it was a fresh cooked dish. I didn’t touch the bowl and decided to never go to this place.

Comment: Its a Mediterranean / middle eastern market with a deli and bakery. Foods / sweets / pastries are authentic Persian. For sandwiches you have a Persian Sangak or baguette bread option. Sangak recommended. There are limited indoor and outdoor seating. Not easy accessible due to steps and narrow spaces.Parking should be easy at free street parking or a limited free back street parking lot.

Comment: I loved everything about this place! The grocery store, baked goods, my breakfast all wonderful! I wish for real silverware and not plastic though. I will be back but will bring my own silverware. The flimsy plastic takes away from the enjoyment of the meal. I wonder why plastic is used when everything else is so nice?

Comment: Awesome Persian café: warm breads, cherry pastry, delicious pizza & salad, fresh juice! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Seating is outdoor and indoor (with aquarium and games, chess/checkers/backgammon.) They had a cool display for Persian New Year (March).Very kind, welcoming people working there. Also, they have groceries: produce, nuts, herbs, spices, tahini, snacks.I was happy to have found it! Plenty of parking on the street or in the back (around the corner.)

Comment: What a hidden gym in the bay. Seems to family run or by a community that’s very close. They are so friendly they’ll come up to talk to you very casually and help out your any need. The biggest learning for me though is that much more of a restaurant vibe than cafe vibe! The coffee is great but grab some food, and put the work away and enjoy!

Comment: Coffee, tea and food are just okay. Nothing special. We ordered a vegetarian omelette which came with some super flat bread, vanilla latte with some spilled on the saucer, Persian mint tea which was again just okay, and veggie kookoo which was different than usual wrap but taste was okay. Zaban which is a honey brushed pastry in the shape of a tongue was nice.

Comment: Had high hopes for Yeganeh Bakery and Kafe Unik based on their shop selection, which is genuinely good. Decided to try the restaurant, but it turned out to be disappointing. We were seated at a messy table left as is from previous customers, and despite the server’s half-hearted attempt at cleaning, we ended up tidying it ourselves. The veggie omelette missed the mark – it wasn’t what you’d expect from the name, and the künefe was dry, likely not fresh. Coffee was okay. Coming from someone who knows Iranian cuisine well, I’d stick to shopping here and skip the restaurant – both service and food didn’t meet expectations.

Comment: What a disappointment. Food is way overpriced and tastes less than mediocre. Kotlets were just fried potatoes. I suggest reviewing what a kotlets is and what a kookoo sibzamini is. There was a Glade plug-in on the wall next to where our table was right next to my wifes head. Unfortunately, the smell was so strong that our food tasted like the scent of the plug-in.People working at the counter were nice but didnt care about the service.Overall wont go back there again.

First they forgot about my order and after they brought my order which was a bandari sandwich but noticed that the lettuce looked unwashed, covered with dirt and even had a small fly in between the lettuce. After bringing it to their attention, they offered us free desert. We chose Napoleon. However the one they gave us was sour and had gone bad! I had heard good things about this place! wasn’t expecting it to be so bad

Comment: This is a Iranian cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors and outside. There is also a small Iranian grocery store as part of the shop. The cafe has a bakery. There are weekend specials such as Iranian chicken haleem which is very different from haleem found in south Asia or different from Harees found in middle east. Iranians put sugar. There are plenty of options for pastries, cakes and sandwiches. There is pizza also. A great place for small bites but not a place to hand full blow meals. If you are looking for good breakfast a great place to come. If you want various types of teas an excellent place to come. They serve traditional Iranian tea. I have tried the veggie omelette which has bell pepper, onions and mushrooms in it and seared with freshly baked Iranian bread. I have also had the zaban Sandwich which is a beef tongue sandwich. It is incredible and the most unique sandwich. It will fill you up. The owners are very nice and the staff is polite. This place has a good variety of veggies and non veg options. Coffee is average. They do provide some interesting coffee like with jasmine flavor. They have a variety of breakfast sausages and salami options from Iran. I just wish they had some kebab based sandwiches. So similar to the zaban Sandwich but make it with shami or koobideh kebab. I think it will go brilliantly. It is a good spot to meet friends and family for the weekend. Last but not least they make fresh smoothies and juices. A great place to come after a workout to have their high protein low carb breakfast with juice.

Comment: Great sandwiches, baked goods, and market.I found this place as I was searching for cheaper places to eat around Santana Row. Great sandwiches that isn’t too heavy with a good balance of veggie and meat. My favorite thus far is the Zaban, beef tongue. Tender and tasty. I also like Ash, which is a nice substancial soup but is not a whole meal portion. The veggie Kookoo sandwich was also very interesting, I didn’t realize I was eating egg because of all the (herbs?) I think. I also like their pirashkis (like dumplings filled with beef or potato) but ask for them to microwave it so the inside is hot.Very nice assortment of Persian food, snacks, desserts, spices, canned goods, etc…And a beautiful layout in their indoor dining area. Makes you feel cozy and at home.

Comment: I initially stumbled into this place looking for a new cafe to review, but to my surprise its more than a cafe. Its actually a small Mediterranean convenience store that serves coffee. So my review is based on that fact and not on the coffee. Its not like the coffee was bad, as a matter of fact, the coffee was really good. It was prepared to the perfect temperature and brought to my table by a polite server that seemed to know everything about the store.I sampled some of the traditional pastries and came away with an overall good experience. If youre looking for lots of dried fruits, ingredients, or a Mediterranean experience, you come to the right place.Even though its not located in some trendy bazaar at some exotic location, the atmosphere still has something to contribute. You can sit outside and watch strangers pass by while you sit underneath a covered umbrella and make up stories about their life. Its an overall demeanor seems to have a perfect balance a place that hosts you and your friends while you catch up, and a place you might just hang out by yourself. I cant complain about that. Its clearly a recommend for me.

Comment: I love this place and i go there alot. They have the best sandwiches. Quality middle east groceries. Best sangak bread to take home for breakfast. I like to give them all 5 star but this time they lose a point for serving tea in a dirty cup. I hope they correct this problem.

Comment: When I went, there was no A/C and no fans even, and there was a heat wave going on. They should have at least had fans for guests dining in. It was extremely uncomfortable. Then I asked the server for a straw for my drink and she told me to go to the front and get it myself. Extremely poor customer service. Food was average to below average at best. Would not recommend at all, one of my worst dining experiences anywhere. 0/5.

Comment: I wanted to like it but unfortunately I dont think they liked people shopping and dining there that dont speak their language, from their culture or look like them. I was very turned off by the difference in attitude and service. Reading some of the other reviews I am relieved Im a way to see that they treat other people just as badly. I thought I had inadvertantly offended them by standing in line. The teller let someone who speaks his own language cut me off (she was there before me but was not standing in line just wandering around the place and shopping) and was very rude when its time to take my order.Food was okay, I got a dessert roll and a flat bread sandwich. If I were to go back (Im not going to) I would stick to the desserts only. But becareful of that too people have gotten sick and found maggots. Also, order ahead so you dont have to wait in line. Takes about 20 min in line to get the order in and 10 min for it to be ready.

Comment: Food was great! I ordered a breakfast croissant and it was bigger than my hand- impressively large!!!! Also, there were simple things like, the cashier skipped the tip page, they gave bottled water for free. It’s the smaller things like this that make me want to return and support the business. I’ll be back and will be recommending! Thank you.

Comment: I like this place! Iranian brunch/sandwich place with a variety juice bar. International Market and bakery as well. Tasty! Outdoor seating available. The people running it sometimes arent sure what kind of meat is in the sandwiches so if you eat zabiha only I would avoid the meat. Muslim owned.

Comment: Real quaint & small home🏡 feel. Food is definitely different in a good way! Enjoyed my breakfast pro croissant 🥐never had anything like it in the manner of how it was prepared. I have to try more coffee ☕️ to really see how good it is. Not a huge fan of the rose latte. Service was mediocre, nothing spectacular.Do want to shop here for groceries sometime.Going to try more lattes & coffees next time before work. I love how they keep their culture alive. Nothing like it, thats forsure.Appreciate your service & delicious food!!!Ill be back.😁Only suggestion I have, is more shade for outside. Tables were cooking my arms. Very few tables have shade. Dont sit near the wall, super hot surfaces during lunch or afternoons.

Comment: Yeganeh is probably the most unique Persian eatery in the area. They dont sell kabobs and stews, they sell sandwiches and light dishes that we used to eat/make in Iran for a quick meal. THe food is always fresh and the portions are big.The bonus here is the small Persian store inside Yeganeh. They bake their own Sangak, fresh and much cheaper than similar markets. They also pack their own seeds, mixed nuts and dried fruit, which are also pretty fresh and reasonably priced (especially the walnuts!).I know many people (including myself) who drive for an hour to come hereAlso, Kudos to Omid, the store manager, who is always friendly and attentive!

Comment: I have got to be honest, so I wouldn’t recommend it to no one. We went there with a few of our friends for brunch, and most of the things that we ordered were shocking bad. Their halim (which was made by chicken) was the worst halim that I had in my whole life. All in all, these guys should focus on what they serve people. Even a 1 is too much for this place. Will give it another try in a year to see if there improved things and then will change the score.

Comment: Nice and clean store. The grocery shop has most of the Iranian items you would crave for with a somewhat reasonable price. The review is mainly for the food. Set the bar right. I have been to few Iranian stores and restaurants in CA and such, which offered way better food.We had Ash, Khafan, Iranian Pizza, and Zaban (beef tongue).Iranian pizza was mainly a pizza you get from papa johns with extra cheese, in a personal size. Yet, the most acceptable of all.Ash was somehow sweet. Not sure why. Not a regular Ash Reshteh at all.Khafan was so so, but mainly not such an art to put lettuce, sausage, jambon, potato chips, and such in a bread. Nice combination though, but not Persian. The Zaban was the most disappointing one. The beef tongue needs to be shredded before putting in the sandwich. Why would you put the whole tongue, well, cut of course, in the sandwich?Anyhow, the owner was a nice guy and the staff too.

Comment: Overall I dont recommend this place if you are looking for a Persian fast food / bakery experience. Here is why:Kale Pache: the broth was very watery and tasteless(as if they added water to it at the last minuet). It didn’t come with brain as it was advertised in the menu. When I asked them about it they told me “We thought you are not Iranian so we didn’t tell you but we are out of brain unfortunately but we substituted it with other types of meet”. The broth also had a dead fly in it.Zaban Sandwich: it was ok but not as good as the same sub you can get at other Persian fast food places.Neapolitan: it was not crispy and fresh. It was like it has been sitting for a while and the pastry was soggy.Baklava: was soggy, very firm and tasted like old oil.Persian mint tea: the was was good.

Comment: I stopped by this bakery while waiting for my car to be serviced at a nearby dealership. They have excellent food and its affordably priced for a family owned business. I brought home some of their baklava to my wife who loved it. I also accidentally left my Apple Airpods there and when I went back two days later, the owner had kept them safe behind by the counter. Wonderful, honest people making great food.

Comment: I felt their food is little costly. I didnt taste lavender in my lavender coffee. It was just simple coffee decorated with lavender. And I felt coffee was too strong for my taste. Chicken sandwich was good. Half the sandwich and coffee would be enough for one person for breakfast. Croissant was so soft. Their Acai bowl was awesome. The only I item I was disappointed with was coffee. My friend ordered rose coffee. I could at least rose flavor at the end.

Once again, we had sauce on our bandari sandwiches and we can’t eat it. We live a good 30 minutes away so not planning on driving back but it would be good to be considerate of special requests. Not sure if we’d go back considering it’s a waste of food and money for us.

Comment: I live in the East Bay, so I don’t get to come here often. But every time when I am in town I would definitely visit my favorite Yeganeh Cafe and Bakery. Everything they have here are fresh and delicious! I ordered the açaí bowl, the beef sausage sandwich, the eggplant dip and the baklava today. The açaí bowl is absolutely my go to for breakfast/brunch/lunch. The açaí is tasty and the honey is just enough and not too sweet :). The granola and coconut added an extra crunch and nutty taste to the fresh fruit bowl. The eggplant dip taste homemade and yummy! I especially love the grilled onions and the sesame bread! I’ve had several attempts trying to make that dip myself but it was nothing like their dip here. The sausage sandwich is very flavorful! The sausage is quite juicy and they also added the pickles, tomato and lettuce to balance the flavor. And best of all, they toasted the bread! The baklava is nutty and crunchy. Anyway, if you want to have fresh and authentic Persian food, don’t miss this place! They also have the grocery inside the store too :). I think I need to come back more!

Comment: My friend and I drove all away from San Francisco, hoping to enjoy an amazing Sunday morning breakfast but were left extremely disappointed as the food was as BAD as the behavior of the management and staff. We ordered kala pacha, but it seemed as if theyd cooked a frozen dish multiple times and added hot water...the broth was flavorless. When I tried to explain to the management that the food did not taste right he confronted me with his rude behavior rather than apologizing. As a small business owner I would never treat a customer this way.Would not recommend this spot.

Comment: The good reputation of this place is legitimate: The service, the food, the authenticity, the freshness, and the flavors. To have a better experience and be able to enjoy the food without rushing, I opted to go during the week (it is a very busy place and on weekends the wait can be very, very long). To be honest, the whole menu looks appetizing, you can go as many times as you want and try different things (and lets not talk about the pieces of bread and/or desserts, thats another delicious story). This time I enjoyed:- Ash (noodle, vegetables, bean and lent)- House Special (feta cheese, walnuts, tomato, mint, cucumber, watermelon, and boiled egg).

Comment: Love the latter here. Specially the rose latte. If you like to try something a little different, it is highly recommended. Otherwise their regular latte is pretty good too. Customer service is good, they prepare your order in a timely manner

Comment: Update: I left a review for this place a few years ago as I did truly enjoy the food, the vibe, and the staff’s friendliness and dedication to quality. Things have surely changed recently. The quality of food has seriously gone down. During our last visits (several visits indeed, in the middle of a pandemic with California’s mask mandate) we noticed the gentlemen behind the cashier and in the food section were either not wearing masks or wearing it on their chins. Unfortunately,it was not an one-off incidents, both gentlemen I have encountered with have been doing the same. It is quite unfortunate that a place that once was our get together place once has degraded so much in quality, & customer service.Old review: Highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, hang out, or pretty much anything you wanna do Persian-style

Comment: It was pretty disappointing, we ordered the eggplant as a sandwich, the pro croissant and kadayif baklava (all to go).We didnt get the eggplant as a sandwich but as a plate, it was okay and interesting, but I wouldnt order it again. The croissants was big, but not very good.As for the baklava- I had better.

Comment: The quality has deteriorated since Yeganeh opened her modern hipster Tehran style café years back. The once café is now over cluttered with either the shop in the front room or the equipment and projector multipurpose back room. Yeganehs friendly and welcoming smile is replaced with less friendly store manager whose screaming voice can always be heard. The fishtank which back in the days was a nice touch, bringing liveliness to the cafe seems neglected and adds to the gloominess of the ambience. One note for the staff: please add expiration date to the products; I just purchased a home made parsnip jam, only to be greeted by a moldy surprise when opening it (mia culpa for purchasing product without date).

Comment: Awful taste, awful service. I ordered Kale Pache but the taste was Abgoosht. Way too expensive for awful food and awful taste, but they don’t provide quality. Don’t recommend at all! Attached see the bill we had two kale pache and one adasi and three hot teas. Another problem was they ask you to tip before getting the service.

Comment: This review is based on customer service I received by the manager. I had an issue with a small order of 5 pieces of baklava, which Ive had many times here before and always really enjoyed. Purchased only hours before a special family dinner, I was disappointed because the baklava was old and soggy, the dough had no crispness. Which is fine, the product can not be perfect every time...When I messaged the manager to share my experience, he did not offer a solution. Consumers deserve better than this, and I do not plan to return.

Comment: This place is truly a hidden gem. The food is delicious and the coffee drinks are amazing. Its lovely to sit out on the patio when the sun shining as its an oasis on Stevens Creek Blvd. The chicken sandwiches are mouth-wateringly yummy! I highly recommend this place for a to-go cappuccino or a full sit down meal (as Covid restrictions lift).

Comment: I’m new to the area and was walking along the street hoping to find a place to wait while getting my car fixed. What serendipity! This place had a beautiful dining-in patio (hard to find during Covid) where I waited most happily. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was delicious! It had just the right combination of egg and veggies. It was light but filling at the same time and a perfect portion! The accompanying bread was served nice and warm and my Americano was just the right temperature. Very reasonable pricing too. Last but not least, lovely and friendly staff! YAY! 😁

Comment: This place is ok! It has multiple types of sandwich which all are heavy in calorie. Some omelets with a small-size Persian pizza and, as suggested, is a gathering place for Persians. Try the back room sitting places to find a cozy space. I would have given it a 5-star if the quality of food was higher given the limited number of choices you have.

Comment: I can’t believe I did not know of this cafe! In my humble opinion this cafe serves the best Persian food in the Bay Area. It’s one of those places that inspire one to know more about good food. All that we ordered here were delectable. Plenty of options for vegetarians ( we do eat eggs) like us! Just the kind of place you would suggest your friends and family to try. Their bread is what breads are supposed to be! Light, crispy, just plain delicious. So glad the restaurant we originally planned to eat at was closed, that pushed us in the direction of Yeganeh Bakery and Kafe Unik 😃

Comment: This is the place for authentic and delicious Persian/Middle Eastern breakfast and lunch. The Persian Plate (pictured below) is AH-mazing! We usually get the spinach feta omelet, too. The cafe serves coffee drinks, fresh fruit juices, and my fav - French Press coffee. They also have baked goodies.Family-friendly spot with lots of seating indoors, but this place is packed on the weekends. There are also options for outdoor seating for smaller groups. You order first, and find a table in your own. They bring your food to you.

Comment: Quite different from most of the Mediterranean restaurants we’ve been to. What we ordered tasted quite authentic but we found it be pretty bland. The eggplant dip and the bread was good, but the chicken dish was average. Maybe this is how the food is supposed to taste, but we didn’t love it. The fresh fruit juices are great! Doubt we will be back.

Casual, comfortable cafe meant for slow afternoons with friends. The menu is a mix of egg dishes, breakfast bowls, and sandwiches unlike anything youll find in the Bay Area. Familiar enough to have you drooling when you walk in the door, and delicious enough to keep you wanting to come back and back again. The tumeric latte is a must have, as are the itty bitty cookies they keep by the counter. The spinach and poached eggs is simple and flavorful and healthy. This is a must visit place for an afternoon or brunch treat.

Comment: A hidden gem, but entirely in plain sight; hidden, because from the outside, I didn’t expect the place to look this cute (see photos). The two lattes I got (Spanish and rose; with a friend!) were delicious. The Spanish is a condensed milk latte, which gives it a light sweetness (perfect for my tastes), and the rose latte is a perfect blend of rose and coffee, though is completely unsweetened unless you ask for it (unlike other rose lattes I’ve had). Guess that means they’re using actual/homemade rose concentrate, not Torani/Da Vinci/Monin Rose Syrups :) Quiet place, with a lot more space than expected. Will be back for the food!

Comment: This place is warm, cozy and unique as the name suggests, I really loved the aquarium, the staff and the owner was very kind and helpful. I guess this place must be known for its omlettes and all. However the hype sorrounding its special persian dish was just false. It wasnt bad but not good either, it was not complete, no way near complete. But the price was Okay. 4.4 star deserved for that. However, I am not giving a 3 star review for the food but for how it was served. The bowl had a long crack which is just unsanitary for a restaurant. And the other dish was broken as well. A bowl that is used for soup and stuff is not supposed to have cracks. Older stuff tend to build up in the cracks and its just aint professional and sanitary. Just throw them away already.

Comment: Lovely place for breakfast and lunch. Had their popular spinach omelette and ordered a fresh squeezed juice. The omelette hit the spot for me. It came with a very good portion of their signature flat bread, I think its nan-e barbari. Over the course of my meal I saw people kept coming in to buy those bread so you know its good! The juice tasted good but Id have liked it more if were colder. Overall a very good atmosphere to enjoy a casual meal. Very friendly server (owner?). I will come back to try other items on the menu!

We come here and buy it in spades when were in San Jose.Other things I love here: sholeh zard (rice pudding), orange latte, lavender latte, zabon (slightly sweet and delicate layered pastry), noon berengi (rice flour cookie). My husband, who is Persian, gets the kallehpawcheh (head/leg of lamb) and he says its one of the best hes ever had. So we saw Yeganeh Bakery & Kafe Unik and it looked interesting so we went in. Ambiance was nice and cozy with character. They have interesting food options and I will definitely go back to try more of them. I had the beef sausage omelette and orange mocha. Both were surprisingly good. My fiance had a spinach and feta omellete that was also tasty. They serve special bread with the omelettes and that was marvelous. It was tasty and light and the edges wefe crisp. I would probably even go back even just for the bread. It was that good.

Comment: Love this place. The Persian film thing is very cool, but the main thing with this place is the bread. If you know a bit about Mediterranean and middle eastern food, bring those table manners and have the house special and mix favors. Its all about the bread!Wifi is decent. There seems to be a community here to plug into, too. Coffee is decent in my book. But again, its all about the bread!
