Comment: Over the last 10+ years Ive come to this very tea house a minimum of 200 times. The atmosphere is wonderful, nice lighting and bueatiful decorations. The costumer service is particularly amazing. They genuinely care about you and pay attention to every drink. Consistency is obviously important to them because over the years the drinks have stayed amazing. I would like to highlight one employee in particular, Kevin. He is very kind and helpful. He has made every trip to Sawtelle a memorable one. I look forward to coming here many more times over the years and enjoying sweet boba!

I got the rose milk tea and my boyfriend got the coconut milk tea.The service was alright, maybe not particularly nice but it wasnt bad enough to ruin the experience.The drinks were good, the flavor wasnt too sweet and there was a lot of flavor that didnt feel too syrupy at all. I give the tea a 4/5 because the boba wasnt very good, just a but average, sorta hard. However, the tea flavor definitely made up for it. Also the tea is pretty cheap compared to other places.

Comment: The hot sakura green tea I ordered was made with chemically treated tea leaves--an unfortunate trend in Asia to lure customers who are unaware of or do not care if their tea leaves have been chemically enhanced with an unnaturally strong aromatic scent and flavor. It was unlike any natural Japanese or Chinese green tea that Ive ever tasted. The scent made me nauseous.I threw out the whole cup. Avoid if you dont want unnecessary artificial chemicals in your food.

Comment: The Hokkaido milk tea is out of this world. Somehow incredibly sweet without being too sweet. The tiny boba are really really tiny, but are definitely still packed with boba flavor and super easy to drink! Lots of options here, and they all seem like winners.Also the popcorn chicken was actually perfect. The spice comes on the side, so you can add as much or as little as you want, but I recommend adding a lot!

Comment: This is the spot for real. It’s not a trendy place like much of Sawtelle, instead offering solid drinks into the late hours of night. I recommend the Passionfruit iced Green Tea (aka the Jamie Lee Curtis), Strawberry Slush with cheese foam, or house milk tea. However, you really can’t go wrong. Get a hash brown to snack on as well.

Its not one of those chain boba stores but independently owned and operated, which is rare these days.The milk teas are lactose free, which is great if you are lactose intolerant like me. Lately, Ive been more into the specialty brewed teas like the white peach oolong. However, the house milk tea is a damn good standard for what a Boba milk tea should be.

You can customize your drink to suit your taste and they are very friendly. Best Boba drinks on the Westside for sure! The service here is fast & friendly. They also have a customer loyalty program where they give you a small card that they stamp for every drink purchase which, when completely stamped, you get $5 of your next drink purchase which is a pretty great deal.Their fries with special salt/pepper seasoning are pretty good too! 😋

Like Milk Tea, Freshly Brewed Teas, Teas, Ice Blended, and Specialty Drink!! The Freshly Brewed Teas is for Hot Drink and Teas is for Hot & Cold Drinks!! Comment: Ew.I saw a long line thinking it must be good. Nope! I got a black sugar latte and a jasmine milk tea. The black sugar latte had the least amount of black sugar and bland tasting bobas. The jasmine milk tea was not actual jasmine green tea, it was just jasmine green tea flavoring, maybe some sort of powder. This drink also has those bland bobas. Unlike other places that cook black sugar babas differently, this place uses the same babas and just and syrup on the side of the cup. They didn’t let the bobas sit in syrup for long enough, which is why they were bland. Not sure if that’s how they prep their bobas or they were too busy and rushed a batch out. Overall, do yourself a favor and go to a place that brew their tea.

Volcano Tea is extremely authentic and delicious. Their boba is the perfect texture and flavor, their milk teas are creamy, and their flavors are balanced without being overly sweet. Fridays/Saturdays.. I once waited 30+ minutes for a drink but at the time I was CRAVING Volcano and it was worth it!I have yet to try more drinks but I am one of those boring house milk tea type of people. Comment: I would call this place more of a traditional style boba shop, no crazy stuff made up for Instagram. They do now accept credit cards and tap to pay. Brown Sugar Latte good but boba is on the al dente side--I prefer it softer. The flavor of the boba was good however. Milk tea brewed properly and not bitter or overly sweet. There are a few boba shops in this area, this one is one of the better spots. This area can be tough to find parking, keep heading north and spots open up.

Comment: Theyre inexpensive, convenient, and fun to go to with a friend. Theyre mostly non-dairy (creamer) unless you order something that specifically has dairy in it. They have a few snack options that are pretty decent. For me, their biggest selling point is that theyre cheap and easy. They are cash only!!! Not a problem for me, but something worth remembering. The only reason for the star off is that their boba is always cooked inconsistently to the point where I stopped ordering it. It wouldnt be cooked all the way through so I would order lychee jelly or another alternative instead. Hope this helped! 😊

Menu had a good selection of drinks to choose from and came through when I really was feeling completely over it at other places. The milk tea actually had tea flavor, which is preferable to the mainly-cream you get elsewhere. Best of all, the boba had the right consistency and texture that tells me they neither overcook or leave their boba sitting for too long. Chewy without being tacky, soft without being jelly. Just right. Everything perfectly balanced.

Comment: Not exactly the best boba milk tea but still good. They didnt have a good Jasmine milk tea but I did like the summer short cake flavors and the taro. I recommend half sugar on anything since its pretty sweet. Would of gave three stars if strictly judging the tea but they have fast service here despite the limited parking. Also their spicy fried chicken is pretty awesome. I tried the medium spice level but it was border line too spicy for me. My wife disagrees with me on the chicken but Im the one who loves spicy foods. Bottom line is the chicken is worth getting, enough to share as a snack for two.

Comment: There are 3 boba drink shops on Sawtelle and this is one is my favorite. Price is comparable to other stores, but this place has one killer item: popcorn chicken! My wife and I were so in love with their popcorn chicken, we came here 3 late nights in a row just for it! And, I used to live in San Gabriel valley, so I have enough Chinese popcorn chicken in life to say, Volcano Tea House probably has the best popcorn chicken.

Comment: Probably the oldest milk tea spot on sawtelle from what I remember. I love the creaminess of the milk tea and the Taiwanese snacks are pretty good, too. Last I remember it was cash only so dont forget to bring it! Definitely check it out!

Comment: I really love the blended matcha tea. I also like that you can ask for the percentage sweetness as I dont like it too sweet. I am not a giant fan of Boba but my friend said its great. Matcha is amazing

Comment: This Japanese milk tea house is a hotspot amongst twenty-somethings, especially the Asian student body from nearby UCLA campus. One of the more popular boba tea spots in the West LA area, located in Sawtelles Little Osaka. They have a long list of colorful milk tea flavors from your fragrant flowery teas like Jasmine to the more nutty flavors like hazelnut or taro root. All the milk teas are made with non-dairy creams and you can customize sugar amounts (3/4, 1/2, 1/4 sugar) and many of them come hot or iced. Add boba if you like chewy tapioca surprises when you sip your drinks. It is a small place but there is some seating with free wifi so this can be a decent study or work spot (especially since its open pretty late). The line can get pretty long particularly in the evenings and late at night on the weekends but theyve got quick service. Parking can be quite tricky in this area but there is a parking lot specific for customers of the shopping strip Volcano is located in so I usually have no problem parking.

Comment: This is my go-to boba place on the westside. The boba balls are just chewy enough, and their drinks actually taste a bit like tea. I always ask for 50% sugar, but the drinks are still sweet enough. I can never say no to the spicy popcorn chicken either...theyre my ultimate weakness! Im so glad Volcano Tea is around, its my go-to after dinner, before dinner, on the weekends, in a rush, need some sugar place as well.

Comment: The most classic and probably the favorite boba tea house in the Sawtelle area. This little charming cafe is usually packed with a line out the door. Facing more competition in recent years, their standards have not fallen. Boba is consistently fresh and chewy.

Comment: This used to be my go to boba shop. I was here quite often and enjoyed a lot of different drinks. I have noticed in the past couple of years that they have not maintained quality. I have noticed that the teas are a bit watered down. You cannot compare this to the Half and Half chain in the San Gabriel Valley.
