Comment: This place is great! My coworkers and I occasionally meet here for coffee. The reason I gave the atmosphere 4-☆? Last week when we were there, it was so freaking cold, and trust me I LIKE it cold, but I mean cold, I even switched seats with my manager, and we were still cold!!!! Also, the place gets incredibly packed and busy... theres a line and limited parking (Ive always gotten a spot)... the bakery items are to die for, insane. A bit on the pricey side, but way worth it, if you wanna splurge!! Get the peanut butter and jelly donut, you will love it. €nj0¥ ♡♡

Comment: Today was my first time at any Temple Coffee location. I was really impressed! They were really busy but the speed of their service was phenomenal. I’ve never had such a good latte made that fast before! I was truly impressed. I love the way you order here and the barista was so nice. Somehow she was able to have a full conversation with the guy in front of me while still pumping out shots. On top of that, the pastry selection looked top notch. If you’re in Sac, you gotta come here.

Comment: I love this place. The baristas are always friendly and knowledgeable, the coffee is delicious whether you get drip or an espresso drink, and the pastry options are plentiful for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten free people. I’ve had the drip coffee, latte, and matcha latte and have enjoyed them all. Also, they often have a coffee out to sample, which is delightful while waiting in line and deciding what to get!

Comment: I want to preface this review to say I have never had a bad experience at any Temple location, even this one. Unfortunately, tonight was a weird experience. I have no reason not to be polite to a person or people especially if Ive never met them in my life and I dont know anything about them and its just respectful and nice to be friendly, polite, and kind as a rule of thumb. We literally learned this in Kindergarten.Apparently, that couldnt be said for the baristas working tonight. I think they are sadly stuck in a Mean Girls mentality. I have no clue their damage(s) but I feel sorry for them and I hope they heal from whatever ails them. Its a bad look to be filled with so much unwarranted vitriol. I went up to the counter and said hello. One of the baristas just stared at me. I then proceeded to order our drinks. She had assumed it was to go so I said oh for here please. This was a grave insult to her because she didn’t seem pleased and she threw down the paper cup on the pile of other paper cups. It was all so strange and unnecessary. I still left a 15% tip (I usually leave 20-22%) but I regret even leaving a tip since the whole interaction was just uncool. Then she and another barista proceeded to snicker like I literally couldn’t see what they were doing. I love Temple and it is a rare treat when I go. So, this was all around unfortunate and unpleasant.

Comment: Love Temple! The Mexican hot chocolate was delicious - just the right amount of spice and sweetness, topped with a mountain of whipped cream dusted with cinnamon. The monkey bread was just as good, perfectly gooey and loaded with cinnamon sugar. Temple is a great spot to bring your laptop to and just hang for a while. Recommend for anyone looking for a cool spot to unwind with some comfort treats. Dont skip on the hot chocolate!

Comment: It’s beautiful. Perfect. As in ice.The service is cold. If that is the gold, met. Estrella didn’t realize how impossible it was to load 2 plates, 4 pieces of heavy silverware, a water glass on a sliver of wood. The place is not packed, an offer to help, as a fellow patron did, just before the fork fell, would have been kind.I know I may seem demanding, but is it really to ask for help? It’s sad that the culture of innate kindness isn’t the culture.I work as a cashier, I enjoy helping and making my customers’ load lighter, on God.My standards are higher because I know what kind easy peasy service with a good heart is all about . I guess I am officially old. So there’s that.

Comment: For speciality, single origin coffee, Temple is by far the best in the area. Ive had some incredible coffee here, and their beans (though ridiculously pricey) have always been perfect. For anything else, if youre not crazy about specialty coffee, theyre great but not worth paying the premium. This particular location, the quality varies quite a bit depending on the barista. Indoor tends to be crowded. Outdoor seating is great in good weather.

Comment: I’m reading a book called Breath as Prayer, enjoying a decaf Mexican Mocha, realizing that I only have so many breaths and then there will be no more, so I’d better really live this life, connect with people, love people, smile, say hi, say how can I help you? A stranger smiled at me. It was like sitting in the cool, relaxing shade while still catching a warm beam of light that no one can take away from me. It was free for her and free for me. There was nothing to profit from it. It was spontaneous. There was nothing to lose. Why do we hold back our beams of light as if there aren’t enough of them? Let’s shine! These are the things that I think about while I’m reading my book and drinking my coffee at Temple.

Comment: I have been to Temple before and had a pretty bad experience as the pastry shelf didnt list ingredients and my son had a serious allergic walnut reaction. Im pleased to see they have better labels but not great still. They should list that the muffins and other treats are made with almond flour as well. Baked goods are from Pushkins Bakery around the corner. With that said, I love love love the raspberry almond muffin and their winter drink special winter bliss was delightful! If you are sensitive to loud this is not the place for you. Not inside at least. You can hear every conversation and the barista station Is pretty loud. Also, the chairs dont have chair leg silencers/felt pads, so thats very startling. I do love the outside atmosphere but that wasnt an option on this rainy day. Choose your seat carefully. Their coffee and service is super quality. Im just a little picky on some key issues.

Comment: I have been to all three Temple locations here in midtown over the years and by far this location is my favorite. I enjoy the brick decor, their drip coffee never disappoints, and their service is great. I would stay clear from the one located on 16th, since eight out of ten times their service is a far cry from being decent. The K Street location is always a vibrant crowd with their own unique style, and their service is consistently good.My favorites to order are their Bliss Tea, Almond Croissant and their Drip Coffee.

Comment: The place is right next to the very convenient co-op supermarket. The parking is a little tight with a ‘2-hour’ parking sign. It was really quiet when I was there since it was just opening and nobody was open other than them. It has a nice place to sit outside and the baristas were nice. They have good coffee; I had a regular latte. But I cant help but think about the $7 lattes though. If I remember correctly, they may have the most expensive lattes in town. I dont understand it.

Comment: I expected much better...Ive heard many people rave about Temple, but my Mexican Mocha with an extra shot tasted like weak hot (barely) chocolate. The chocolate pumpkin donut was only a donut ($5) in the sense that it was a donut shape. It was really just a small bread/cake, and was quite greasy. Staff was very friendly and the place looked great, but mycoffee was lacking. I normally get a pour over or Americano; maybe Ill try that next time.

Comment: I absolutely love this place. Hands down the best espresso/coffee/tea Ive ever had. The downside is the looooong lines that can leave you standing outside for a little while at times. I owned a coffee shop for a number of years and have a good handle on quality coffee. The baristas do a great job of making the drinks with style. Comment: We are fortunate to have so many great coffee shops in Sacramento. That being said, Temple is my favorite. Ive been to a few of their locations and the S Street location is my go to. My husband and I love it. This shop is typically busy and for good reason. If there is a line dont be discouraged. It moves pretty quick thanks to the efficient employees. Everyone is friendly, atmosphere is great. Coffee is so many levels above that chain shop thats on every corner. One thing I love is that I can order a hot coffee and itll be hot, not warm like a lot of places. Ive been drinking good coffee since the 90s and the days of Java City so I need my coffee hot! Give them a try. You wont be disappointed.

Comment: Sometimes I like Temple and sometimes my experience is mediocre. I will say I refuse to come at night when there is a certain person working. Unfortunately it seems like not all staff members are trained equally. I have had an experience multiple times with the same barista where they are burning the liquid of whatever drink I am ordering. I really would appreciate it if people were trained to do their jobs correctly so I could feel confident paying $9 for a drink here… which is the other thing I have an issue with…. Yet I like to support local businesses so I will come back, but what I can say is that the training should really extend to deep education for the baristas.

Comment: Temple Coffee has a few locations around town and theyre all great. The baristas are personable they make excellent drinks. I like how consistently good my experiences are when I go in, and Im happy to be supporting a locally-owned business and not a huge corporate chain. Their coffee beans are fair-trade, and the coffee accessories they sell in-store are good quality. One thing to note about this location is that its super popular, especially on Sundays because there is a church across the street. If you go in and see a long line and full tables, my advice is just to be patient and enjoy the laid back vibe because the coffee is worth the wait.

Comment: Hello Everyone! This is the only temple coffee I go to in Sacramento, it is the most down to earth and welcoming of them all. The staff is warm and sincere! It is such a lovely outdoor and indoor space as well. I love their Bliss tea, it is like gentle Christmas in a cup! Getting it for here to get the cute set up! The pastries are beyond incredible as well:) it is a little pricier, but I am hoping it is all feeding into quality, equitable products and fair wages! ALSO, enjoy my friend Adam who got coffee and multiple pastries and even added some of my Bliss tea to his coffee and loved it! ♻️🌍🙏🕊️

Comment: Chill place, nice seatings, clean and comfy interior. Decent pastry. Customer demographic seems quite diverse, gives people a welcoming feeling. Most of the people dining in seems to be young in their 20s, many working or studying. Great place for focus and productivity.Plenty of power plugs, BUT theyre kinda loose. When I plug in my macbook power adapter its keep falling.Their outdoor seating is bit confusing though, seems mixed with the nearby restaurant. Restaurant start placing Reserved sign on the table with no one sitting there.

They are always working hard and hustling and improving their craft and delivering great service and it shows in the end product. Im a regular that buys drinks here a few times a week and Im willing to pay three times what I could pay at another nearby coffee location for an abundantly better drink and experience. Comment: Overall atmosphere is nice. A great place to study, read a book or bring your dog and rest after a walk. The shop is beautifully decorated, only down side is this place is very pricey. $7.00 for a ginger snap latte. It was delicious but unsure about $7 bucks worth. The selection is basic but it’s enough. I think the only change I’d make is the price.

Comment: I really like the service at temple. The food and drinks are good too... I rated a 3 because on 2 occasions I have come to find that dogs their owners are the priority over the rules and the comfortability of patrons that are allergic or uncomfortable with other peoples pets around their food/drinks. There is posting in the window that non service dogs are not allowed inside but on multiple occasions I have found that the rule is not enforced and I have even found dog hair in my pastry after a dog shook itself off inside! Today, a dog was inside making puddles of drool and wagging its tail near the t shirts and mugs for sale. I personally do not trust that other peoples dog hygiene is good on top of the fact that dander is dander... many people are allergic including my child. When I made mention at the counter I was ignored. When I spoke up and insisted that the floor needs to be mopped to avoid fall risk they said okay... when I further mentioned that the sign said that non service animals are not permitted, I was further ignored. On my way out, another non service animal was on the way inside. Im going to have to find my coffee where I can expect that its unadulterated with pet excrement.

Comment: My favorite coffee shop in Sacramento! Ordered a Flat White, made with the single origin Columbian espresso. It was truly incredible. A real taste of New Zealand here in America. Great coffee with very friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. This place is a true coffee lovers dream, where its all about coffee and tasteful atmosphere but the coffee is actually good! The atmosphere here is a comfortably modern style with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Theres free Wi-Fi that works both inside and outside as well! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did.I heard about this place from a former employee that started his own successful coffeehouse in Chico. He totally undersold this place. Honestly if I had the time and money I would drive the two hours everyday to get a Flat White here. Absolutely delicious and a truly great overall experience here at Temple Coffee.

Comment: This used to be a good environment to grab coffee and hangout at but ever since COVID, the employees have been less than accommodating, including the management of this specific location denying services to those with medical conditions. I waited in line for like 10-15 minutes just to walk up to order and was asked to leave because of my medical condition. Very disappointed with this Temple location. All the other locations were more reasonable and willing to work with me and providing quality customer service. Give your money elsewhere if you believe in inclusivity.

Comment: Im rating the decaf coffee, not this location. The beans are stale and overly roasted, making them bitter (though they should be medium roast). I have been lucky to find some very good decaf at other roasters in Sacramento so I know good decaf exists. I would hope that professional coffee roasters prioritize quality and taste of ALL of their products (good quality beans and roasts), even for their less profitable lines. I do not find this to be the case with Temple. I would compare their decaf to a very cheap grocery store brand. I hope this changes.Perhaps more people would drink decaf, especially in the afternoon, if it tasted better?

Comment: While coffee drinking is a daily staple in our house, it is very rare these days that we go out and enjoy some out on the town. Last night, we decided upon a date night and ventured out into the streets of Sacramento for a treat. Dang, we are so glad that we did! While I normally drink cold brew, I decided to get crazy and have a chocolate in the dark, which was a shot of espresso in a cup of black drip coffee. Needless to say, it was lots of caffeine but just what I needed. It was a delicious treat for sure! My partner enjoyed a cappuccino prepared with almond milk instead of steamed milk, and she never wanted to get to the end of the cup because it was so delicious. As you probably have read, this location has a tendency to get a little busy. However, isnt it normally the crowded places that have the best offerings? Go find out for yourself. Bring your patience, a desire for fine coffee, and perhaps even a book to read. Youll be glad that you did.

However, I ordered a vanilla latte (not on the menu) and Ive been to coffee shops all around the area and never paid more than $5.50 for a drink like that but here it came out to $7.12 for a cup of coffee? Also the wifi wasnt working, possibly because there were so many people at the coffee shop but if you are trying to study or work there and need internet connection I would suggest you check if your electronics connect first.

Comment: I did not appreciate one of the unfriendly staff members.I had a nice interaction with the barista, he was very amiable. However, a few minutes prior to closing, a female staff member stopped at our table and became very unfriendly with my friend and I.There was no reason for her to become impatient and curt with us prior to closing time and while other customers were also present. She made my friend and I feel strongly unwelcomed, as if she wanted is to feel ashamed of being there close to the closing hour. The interaction gave us the sense that we were spending time in a classless bar, as we were going to resist leaving. To the management: If your staff treats a conscientious customer as she did, that person will not come back and will recommend against friends patronizing your establishment.

Comment: So far Temple Coffee (specifically this location, because I havent been to the others) is my favorite coffee spot in Sac. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They make me feel like a valued customer and not just a number. Its more of a mom and pop shop vibe instead of corporate. The coffee is more expensive than average, but they give some of the proceeds to local non-profits, the coffee is fair trade, and the coffee tastes amazing. Comment: Great building and patio area to relax and enjoy your coffee drink. Parking can be challenging due to number of parking stalls in the lot but plenty of street parking as well and walking a little extra for Temple Coffee is worth it! One of my favorite spots to get coffee!

Comment: Great Coffee. Service isnt quite as good. They use to be a lot faster, use to bring the drinks to you after ordering so you could go sit while you waited which didnt seem as long. Now they have goal to keep you at the counter til your drink is ready even if that means you stand there while the employees carry on with there conversation and dont be surprised if they turn theyre back to you as well. They move with NO sense of urgency. Its only the S st location too, other have better service. The really sad thing is they still turn around the Point of sale tablet so you can give them a tip. Like they did something to earn it. A tip is for above your normal duties not free money. Speed the line up, bring the drinks to the customers that pay a lot of money for coffee and keep the customer area cleaner. I shouldnt have to buss my own table.

Comment: Best coffee in Sacramento. Period.Dont be intimidated by the fancy names and immense amount of detail about the coffees - they always have a wonderful barista to help with your questions and find something you like! The Americana, Mexican mocha, and all of there pastries include gluten free, vegan, etc options that are just as delicious!Again, its all great, these are just some of my favorites!

Comment: Cute, cozy feeling inside compared to the big open spaces in the Temple Coffee location on K street. This location is def more chic. It’s also right next door to the Co-Op market which has great sales on health food. Usually if I’m coming here it’s also to go to the Co-Op next door.Great coffee as always, and a friendly staff :)

Comment: Very solid place for remote work and the coffee here is really really good. I was very impressed. These guys know how to make really good coffee.Wifi was very fast (around 25-30 mbps). Plenty of outlets BUT the place does get packed (went in on a Tuesday around 2:30 PM and all spots were filled. They have outdoor seating but Sacramento being as hot as it is, youd prob prefer to be inside.Still heavily recommend this place.

This is a nice location and parking is limited by the building so you can park in the parking garage. Buy your coffee for here and itll be served in a coffee cup instead .

Comment: I am not a Temple fan. I prefer Insight or Chocolate Fish for coffee. Today I simply had hot chocolate and what a disappointment for almost $5; Id much prefer Ginger Elizabeth for that.I usually have a press pot here and its just okay. I actually think my press pot at home is better. Not to mention the entire atmosphere and the employees here make me feel like Im an inconvenience. For God sake you make coffee for a living

Comment: This is my favorite temple location. The main roastery is located behind the shop. This location always has stocked baked goods, and the beans are fantastic--much better than Peets and a million times better than Starbucks trash beans. Selfishly, I would like this place to remain a secret because I love it so much and I dont want it to get overcrowded, but since I want the world to be a better place I think everyone should go there and I will not keep it a secret. Definitely try the Americano with espresso type roasts--you will not be disappointed.

Comment: A popular coffee shop in Midtown. I felt like the counter service could be faster. I liked my thai tea but the thai tea is not what you get from a Thai restaurant. This one was watered down and less sweet but thats fine with me. As for seating, upon entering, there is a lot of space in the shop but most of it was already taken. A plus is that there are patio seating so I sat outside. Parking is also tight but you can park in the garage next to it.

Comment: Personally I like the coffee at temple, really delish but its not my favorite because its still slightly too acidic for me but the latte with soy milk and some syrup is perfect for a morning pick me up. The atmosphere here is quite dark and stuffy at times when its crowded and not as great of a place to work compared to other shops. Its also hard to find a plug to charge my quickly dying laptop when its crowded and i find that this location tends to be fairly crowded in the mornings. Otherwise, they have a small parking lot which is nice and are right next to the food co-op if you get hungry!

Comment: Love to support local small business, and the latte below was made with a lot more TLC than a bigger chain. Temple is frequented by the local community, and sometimes during busy times, its hard to get a parking spot nearby, but it is really worth the walk. They have great pastries, but I am trying to stay away from those.

Comment: I thought the barista was being pretentious when he asked me which bean and suggested one with fruity flavor. Was I wrong. Wow!! The best flavoured bean Ive ever tasted. Thank you barista. The 10 minute wait in the long queue was well worth it.I would have given 6 stars if they offered anything savoury to eat. Never mind, Pushkins take-out is around the corner. Another wait... But still worth it.Yeah, I hate waiting in lines! Someone should come up with entertainment for customers waiting in line. Free glass of wine would be nice.Limited seating. Sure it must be nice in patio in summer.

Comment: Friend treated me to tea... he recommended this business saying they good coffee.Yet when he asked for green tea, they did not ask any flavor. Menu had about five different green teas. What I received was light copper color tea. Not knowing how it should look, I asked her if it was green tea. Yes was her reply. My response was it does not look green.Presume one must give explicit menu tea name, otherwise, it is whatever is available. My friend mentioned it may have been jasmine flavor: It distinctly was jasmine, but bitter... rep asked if to ice the tea, I agree. Perhaps having it iced, made it bitter...

Comment: Lady on bar was nice. Lady on register was rude, didnt leave me room in my coffee and when I put milk in it spilled a small amount on the counter and she became impatient and short with her responses towards me. The coffee was mediocre at best and the fact that it was crowded and the register person was garbage at social interactions, Id rather make my own coffee at home instead of spending 5 bucks for snarky attitudes.

Comment: Temple is the tastiest coffee you will find in Sacramento. And S st. Temple is the best place to get it. 5 stars for the rich, delicious, decadent cups of lattes and mochas brewed here. 5 stars for the friendly, courteous, charming staff members who make every trip here a delight. 5 stars for the beautiful, botanical patio in the front where no matter how full it is, somehow there is always room for one more. Comment: Their coffee bean selection and quality is worth 7 stars. their teas are amazing.. I only put 3 stars because they cannot prepare my coffee the way I want it. Temple thinks that their ways to brew an espresso is the best and they will not customize their brew. I always want a long shot espresso, and the only way they would prepare it for me is to add hot water in a short espresso. *Sigh* their Dharma coffee is delicious but I cannot drink it there.

Comment: Ambiance is a 5 star!Vibe is a 5 star!Seating is a 5 star!ParkingI had came here on a tuesday morning, and parking wasnt too hard to find. I had parked a block away which was in front of someones house. The parking here can be a challenge, but its worth it if your planning to come here to study or just hangout.OutsideIts hidden behind the wine place. The exterior is really nice! loved all the small details such as the plants and wooden exterior. Loved how the address number is crooked which gave it a different character to the building. There are plant of seating in the patio. Lots of community long tables! Perfect for studying or just write reviews! Nice and quiet but with some noise in the background too. Comfortable tables and seats. The only con i found for the outdoor seating is maybe the lack of electric outlets. Like my computer was dying and i had no where to plug it in to recharge.InsideInside is neat as well. There are some comfy couches for you to lounge around. Also plenty of small tables to study in the indoors. I would take advantage of the indoor environment when the weather gets a bit yuckier but for now outdoor is the perfect vibe and environment to hangout at.Coffeeice drip - i got the ice drip since that is what my brother recommend me to get. For a large size its $2.70. When you decide to get a refill its $1.95. I like it but i dont love it, because its a bit water down but it was different. Less strong but it does the job. Since it is water down i can drink this black but if it was more strong then i would have to mix it with milk.ServiceThe baristas who served me today are friendly and sure are chatty to see hows your day is going. Great on giving me info on what brew i am ordering, so thats a plus. Friendly service and helpful.i will be back to try the other drinks and maybe a nice fancy latte next.

Comment: Came in here to get coffee after filling up on pastries at Pushkin (right next door). Long line but moved pretty quickly. The design/aesthetic of the place is very cool and resembles Sightglass, Blue Bottle, Ritual, etc. in San Francisco. Very cool how they give you the french press with a timer - though a bit cumbersome to carry around. Also, pretty pricey (~$7), though I guess not too bad considering it is almost two normal-sized cups of coffee.

Comment: If youve never gone to Temple, I suggest doing it asap. Parking spots are pretty narrow so I suggest using the new parking garage next door or trying to park on the street. There is also plenty of bike parking in case youre a cyclist. Its a must try during summer when you can sit outside and enjoy the subtle decor and soft playing music in the patio they share with Revolution Wine next door. Coffee is ALWAYS high quality as is their tea. While they have a small variety of pastries next to the cashier, around the corner is Pushkins bakery where you can grab some gluten free or vegan snacks in case you dont find something you like.

I think I have found my new Friday morning ritual- spread my cookbooks out across the giant coffee table, sip something delicious, and make my weekly shopping list before heading over to the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op.The young lady making drinks this morning is efficient, yet laid back, and very knowledgeable about her product. Comment: Probably my favorite location of all the current Temple locations. The only problem I have is when theres no seating due to overcrowding. Its just too popular. After the original Temple closing, I found this location to the closest to having that cozy feeling that I miss compared to the industrial feel of the other. Its a great place to read, study, or to chat up with some friends. I only wished it could be bigger to accomodate the crowds. The coffees are delicious since they roast their own. Comment: I usually pay attention to food stuff first, but this place has such a nice look and feel that I have to comment on that first. Its the perfect place to hang out and read, or wind down from a long day at work. Its very peaceful outside, and inside its warm and inviting. If I lived in the area Id probably make it a point to stop by multiple times a week. Now about their drinks - I had the Bliss tea, and it was probably one of the best teas Ive ever tasted. Its a peppermint tea, but they add coconut milk, honey, and I think condensed milk. Bomb. Nothing too special about the service, but there wasnt a long wait and the girl with the pink hair was nice.
