Comment: Let me start with the floor. It’s a bunch of Pennie’s all the way across the building into the bathroom even! I can’t imagine how much work that took to lay, and it’s great investment too. It could come in handy one day if values return.This place has been one of my favorite locations to tether and get work done. When I was finishing my Master’s degree I would come to this place to get work done and even to this day I come by to get on my computer or with a friend or a few we come in for some coffee and relax and chat. It’s a great local spot for that. Solo or in a group, it’s a perfect spot for coffee or tea and their snacks are great too. I like their cookies too.

Comment: If I am in Sacramento downtown, I always make sure to stop by Templecoffee to get my coffee they are the best in town.A side note— if you’re working on your laptop or other devices and you need a solid internet connection, they have a really fast guest wifi. Which really helps at time. 😃

Comment: I had a pretty bad experience recently on Wednesday April 10th around 5:40PM that Id like to discuss.I have attend this cafe once a week for several years. I went in with a friend and put my bag down at the communal table before grabbing a drink at a barista. Yelled at me You can order drinks at the bar. As if I wasnt going to spend money there.Im so turned off I dont see myself going there in the future. Its the type of microaggression... Let me correct myself. Plain aggression, that doesnt make people feel welcome. Ive seen this barista several times so, and I dont understand it. I dont want to imagine their reason, maybe they had a bad day. Their coworkers seem to realze and just tried to ignore the rudeness. They were polite, but if I was them I would apologize for my colleges behavior.

Comment: The almond croissant was DELICIOUS. The americano was pretty good. And thats the main positives. Im visiting here from Washington state so this is my first and only time at temple. The staff were very uninterested and aloof. The chai was not the best, I wouldnt order it again. My husband hated the drip coffee, it was very watery. I switched to an americano after my chai, which was better but not amazing. Overall I felt it didnt meet the hype!I do have to admit that the almond croissant blew my socks off. I think most people come here for the ambiance which is beautiful, but I didnt love the coffee or service. I wouldve given this less stars but my little cousins both adore this place and adamantly swear it’s usually better. So 4 stars instead of my personal experience which was closer to a 2.

Old Soul and Black oak (Sonoma) does not do that to me.We got a Black Velvet mini raspberry cake which is supplied from one of their vendors. It was one of the most awful desserts I have ever had. Comment: Move over Blue Bottle, you have a competitor for 4th (?) wave coffee. Or are we still on 3rd wave? Its funny how Europeans still think that the best America can offer is Starbucks. I guess thats true if all you see is our airports and freeways. Im not aware of any Temple Coffee in the SF Bay Area where Blue Bottle has a strong foothold. We all know that coffee itself is a commodity so after the baristas have been properly trained to not burn milk and put some art into the preparation, what you have left is service and the atmosphere (and I guess for the aficionados, certain proprietary blends or sole source roasts) - which is where our earstwhile culturally ignorant European tourists will be surprised. While they have temples from the middle ages, we have a Temple to coffee. The Starbucks of the world are rapidly becoming the last resort freeway swill of the past. So pull up an oaken stool at a wooden counter top and prop up a book adjacent to the plate glass overlooking leafy boulevards and enjoy your caffeinated blend with oat milk (my preference) or otherwise. My nuanced rating is probably closer to a 4.75 stars, but Google doesnt allow for fractions.

It’s a real staple of the Sacramento coffee scene, which is top notch in the whole country. This location is absolutely beautiful and has a great atmosphere. The space is big and open with high ceilings and tons of natural light, which make the bustling nature of the shop feel less chaotic. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable without being pretentious. There are tons of different seating options- like tables near wall outlets for working, couches for lounging, and a patio for just hanging out with friends.

The coffee was a bit more expensive than I was expecting - even for a pour over - but you can tell it’s high quality and carefully selected. Lots of space to hang out and some outdoor seating as well. One thing I noticed was that the number of power outlets available was pretty slim, which could be a challenge if you wanted to hang out and work/study while enjoying coffee. Will definitely go back again.

Comment: The most bougie coffee shop Ive ever been in. It looked like it belonged in San Francisco. Amazing if you like that kind of thing, including the price. Staff was very nice but I think most of them were new and didnt know how to pronounce the menu items. I bought a nearly $8 affogato so I didnt feel guilty about using their outlets for my laptop and I couldnt finish it because it was so bitter and tasted faintly of tuna. I think I would enjoy this place if I were about 28 years old living in a studio apartment and going on a date with a bearded man in a beanie that I met on bumble.

It looked very chic and hipster and I asked my sister what it was and she said it was only the best coffee spot in Sacramento....so I had to try it! It a very nice cafe inside. High ceiling, nice seating made out of wood, they have sofa and its bright and airy inside. The counter is set up nicely and they have bagged coffee for sale. I got an iced Mexican mocha and wow it was so good!!! Even my mom liked it and shes not much of an iced coffee type of person. it was a perfect drink for the warm day! Next time it would be nice to sit there and chill and have my coffee. :-)

Comment: Nice space. The location is really good and a lot of street parking available at least when I went. The coffee shop is really nice. I heard a lot about it and when I visited Sacremetno recently this is the first place I visited. Also I got some of their coffee as a gift to my friends as well as got some decaf goodness for myself. The bathroom is clean, their jasmine tea was delicious and they have really good internet. I liked their comfortable seating, and it’s a perfect space to come and do some work.

Comment: This is my safe space when I have time to make the 25 min drive here to do my work. The atmosphere is amazing and their affogato (gelato drowned in espresso) is to DIE for. Its expensive but easily ignorable because of how good it is. Its high quality coffee that does not react poorly with my stomach as coffee usually does. Come here at 10 am or 8 pm, I just wish their Davis location had the affogato as well, but its a good excuse to have a nice drive. It can definitely get busy, and every time I went, I got lucky getting a seat.

The coffee is definitely good, the beans are well-sourced and carefully roasted, resulting in a rich and full-bodied cup of coffee. The atmosphere is also great, the décor is sleek and modern, and its a great spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.However, there are a few downsides to my experience. The place is always crowded, and it can be difficult to find a seat during peak hours. Additionally, the café has a distinct smell of pennies, which can be off-putting. The pastries are also often cold and stale, which is disappointing.

Seating is always packed, and its a bit of a side eyeing scene, but service is deliberately friendly.There are several maintenance issues in this location: the comfy looking sofa is broken, the cool penny floor is starting to look seriously worn, and the Kyoto slow drip has been permanently disabled due to a missing part.

Comment: I was a coffee club member and usually order my coffee filters through the club but forgot so went to the K Street store to purchase. Got a dry latte with my filters; as others comment, their coffee drinks are weak and my latte tasted like warm milk. However, their beans are good (and expensive) and make a nice cup of coffee at home. After purchasing the coffee filters I found they were contaminated with some kind of fragrance (or chemical?). Since I have a coffee subscription I notified customer service via email. To make a very long story short, Temple took no responsibility for their contaminated filters, and wouldnt replace them. My coffee subscription consists of regular deliveries of two coffees, one being the single origin roasters choice ($36/lb). I had the subscription for years and received one of their standard, cheaper coffees on several occasions for the roasters choice. On my last delivery I got one of their standard cheaper coffees once again so I cancelled and told they why. Never a response or apology for the overcharges or bad coffee filters. I will never patronize Temple coffee again, including purchasing beans at my local Nuggett market where Temple coffee is 20% cheaper. Sacramento has many good coffee roasters; no need to get Temple where it seems they are doing you a favor.

Comment: The coffee is quality is about as good as it gets, from washed process to Ethiopian Naturals, and the baristas make perfect lattés as well. Reminds me of a small roaster in Rocklin called Split Rail. The vibe is also great, nice spot to get some work done while people watching, etc. Love this place whenever I’m in downtown Sacto.

It is $6.15 but if you get it dine in then its totally worth it. Their chocolate cookie is also really good. Most of their bakery options are either gluten free or vegan. I wish I could have gave them a better rating and I do understand that they are busy. Comment: I am fortunate that Sacramento is considered one of the cities within my 9 state territory. I make it a point, every time Im in this city, to visit Temple. It is aptly named: one of the holy institutions of the caffeinated arts, with grand traditions in steeping and herbal mantras. The crew is ever lovely, hiding their wings with grace and humility; angels though they be. My personal favorite: the Capitol Cream Soda. An exquisite blend of coffee, vanilla simple, cream, and Topo Chico for the sparkle you never knew you needed. Trust me: you do. And thats no false judgement. Its just that Temple makes things better... and they have my undying (if highly addicted) love and gratitude.

It is an average cappuccino that you would get for a €1.50 anywhere in Florence, Rome, Milan, etc. The location itself is also average. I ended up here because I was trying to waste some time while waiting for my car to get the oil changed. The service was average as you would expect it to be in any caffetteria. Yet, paying $8+ for a cappuccino in Sacramento is to say it politely, silly. Not sure if people here have never had a cappuccino anywhere else outside the US, so they are just easily impressed. It was an evening when I walked in with my family and there wasnt a line, so the lack of energy in greeting us was underwhelming. They were a little rude and didnt make it clear when the coffee was done either. We each got different drinks and the coffee tasted a little bland. Overall there are other cafes in the midtown area with better service and higher quality coffee at similar or less expensive prices that I think are worth visiting. Thats just my opinion.

Comment: Can you even get any more classic Sacramento than Temple?? I mean, did you even go to Midtown if you didn’t stop here? This location is particularly memorable with the legendary penny floor (seriously the whole floor is covered in pennies) and big, wide open interior.The staff are always friendly, and I love coming here for the vibe, super mega high quality coffee, and the chatty open atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back but will try something else, maybe a chai. The baristas were not very friendly- no smiles, kind of dismissive. I’d appreciate better customer service for a small $7 cup of coffee. Mostly enjoyed the atmosphere and look of this location.

Comment: Very nice spot. It could use a little more seating inside but the baristas are awesome and the coffee was awesome. I ordered a cinnamon soy latte and my friend ordered another late. Each one handcrafted before your eyes and finished with a unique latte art. The pastries are from Estelle Patissier (I think thats how you spell it?) and therefore on the pricey side but scrumptious even just to look at in their large pastry case. Bright, airy, clean, wonderfully aromatic and inviting. I will definitely visit this location again.

Comment: I dont want to be that person that has one disappointing experience one day and gives one star. Hence three.The staff was super nice. The tea was good enough, no comment on the price. The place is beautiful. But two problems. One; please redo your bench inside to allow a person to comfortably sit. Im sure you know what Im talking about - Im 54 and still couldnt figure out a way. The next is that I was there half an hour before closing and it suddenly turned into a loud hangout for a bunch of people meeting up before or after going out to the bars - I dont think the dozen people even wanted coffee. Just stood around in the middle and talked obnoxiously loud while everyone else was trying to enjoy normal coffee shop stuff like sipping, reading and typing. Okay I guess you cant do much about that one but maybe you can fix the bench, pretty easily. Thank you.

Comment: Strong coffee, excellent environment. One of the best Gibraltars I frequent (even better than Blue Bottle in my opinion!). Can definitely get crowded, but very fast service and accessibility to electric plugs. Food items are from Ettore so its a bit on the pricier side.

Comment: Super cool shop. My friend had the espresso and it was the best one hed had in his life! Pastry is more Europe-ish (which I love), but they had classics like Key lime pie also. If you want the best coffee you should visit.
