Comment: I enjoy frequenting this particular Starbucks because its open later than many of the other ones nearby, so its perfect to visit in the late afternoon, enjoy some coffee or tea and then do some light studying before heading back home. The atmosphere here isnt what you would consider intimate or cozy but thats what I like about it. The crowd has always been calm and never overly noisy and the employees are friendly and attentive.

They never greet you and when you speak to them they will get you what you need but it seems like they don’t want to. I always say thank you and have a nice day and they say nothing back to me. I’ve been there more than 5 times but I won’t be back. Such a different experience than what I’m used to at Starbucks. What’s wrong?

Have-Girl: I will, thanks!It felt like I was engaging with a buggy robot.Ive had a lot of awkward interactions with employees working the register or barista area at other Starbucks in the region. The customer service lines feel forced. Then I hear them speaking naturally to their coworkers, going from robot to human mode.At this point, Id rather interact with a computer or robot.Also, the espresso is burnt tasting and awful, and has been for years. Unless its covered in sugar and flavorings its not enjoyable.Besides the convenience of their many locations Im out of reasons to get coffee or food from Starbucks.

I could tell they were down a person but the employee on register (Kyle) communicated he would be right with me and made sure to keep things going with food orders (he was also on oven). He was very positive and made sure my order was correct before sending it through. The employee on bar (Emily) made my drink correctly and made an effort to connect and thank me. Overall a positive and memorable experience due to two friendly staff members :) thank you!

My typical stool is on Freeport but I dont like the parking. I will not do the one on K street again. Apparently light ice means 3/4 of a drink. Ive never had that happen before.

Comment: Came here on a Friday afternoon and stayed until around 8:30 at night, ordered a few drinks throughout the time I was there so I think I got a good feeling of the place. The staff there were all very kind and quick. I believe one of the managers was very on top of keeping the place clean and organized; He was constantly walking around and tidying things up, keeping the curtains closed when the sun was shining in peoples faces and opening them back up when it grew dark. He also swept stuff up and clean tables more often than Ive usually seen. That said, the whole place was very clean.The three or four baristas I encountered when ordering drinks were kind and had an upbeat attitude. The last one even put a little heart in my latte; That made me smile.Lastly, the atmosphere here was nice, nicer than the one just down the street on Alhambra. This one was very quiet, most people here were alone and on laptops (and not Macs, which for no real reason, I like). It wasnt dead empty, but there werent too many people that it felt crowded. The tall ceiling here might help with that.One more thing actually, the music here was pretty nice too! It was, as I guess I would put it, trendy without sounding bad? Things like a Coldplay cover and some subtle electronic songs appealed to me quite a bit. Theyre different, but not so different that you dont want to listen to them. But more interesting than generic classical music.I certainly like this Starbucks and I feel Ill drive downtown regularly just to sit here for a while. Speaking of driving, theres also free 2 hour street parking on N street, one block west. Id suggest those spots over the paid ones in front of the Starbucks. There were quite a few places open when I parked, too.

In every city I go to, I make a point to visit every single Starbucks in the area. (Which was extremely hard to do in Seattle, lemme tell you).This Starbucks, here at 28th and N, is by far one of my favorite Starbucks yet, and I have probably been to over 1000 different locations (do I feel a world record coming on?).Why? Well, the location is prime. Im close enough to everything I do, that it is an easy walk, but yet it is also far enough away from the general hubbub of the rest of midtown, that it is a much more quiet location. Very calm. All of the baristas at this location are prime examples of awesome people, and represent Starbucks amazingly.
