Comment: Over a year ago when I first found this place, great customer service and yummy food. Now Even on days they don’t have people inside, it takes about 30 mins to get your sandwich,let alone your drink.It’s hilarious that they have the opted tip option when consistently they don’t even look at you and smile- simply rude and talking within themselves - so make sure to repeat your order and look at the screen because too many times the girl would repeat the correct order and not ring it up right for being distracted, making the barista look bad on top of them not saying thanks or a quick smile either.For overpriced coffee would rather enjoy the shops in midtown where they value service and earn great tips.

Comment: The firehouse 20 is by far my most favorite grilled cheese. Second runner up is the Del Paso del sol. Then the capitol sunrise. The grilled cheese is grilled to the perfect crisp! I love the mango habanero hot sauce to pair with all these grilled cheese. And my favorite drink from there is the cava latte. The service is great! They are so welcoming. And also help a lot with answering questions about the menu. Food and drinks are ready quick. The atmosphere there is super chill, quiet, and relaxing.

Comment: Wow Im amazed how peaceful, and enlightening this restaurant establishment is, and the way they set up the interior with a car theme. The coffee is tasteful, with good aromas. Comment: I read a sign outside saying “best grilled cheese in Sacramento” and they are NOT wrong. I have brought so many friends and family here just because I love their food so much!! The smokin pig was my favorite cause of the apple slices but I don’t think they have it in the menu anymore so now I go for the kitchen sink or hot as hell. You can also customize by switching the bread or adding jams. They are so sweet and helpful! I love trying their seasonal drinks, most of the time it’s too sweet for my liking ( I don’t like sweet) but still very fun to try. My favorite drink was actually the golden girl white tea with rose petals. If you’re hungry, you have to try the home made tomato soup with your grilled cheese!! So so good 🤤 lastly, it’s such a cute spot in a beautiful area. They have games you can play or just relax and enjoy the vibe. (Waiting and praying on the day the finally open their beautiful outdoor garden area)

Comment: First time visiting this coffee place and wow, from the detail and presentation of the drinks to the atmosphere. I’m a big fan of cars and they had a car based atmosphere that I loved. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced mocha, very high quality service and attention to detail. I’m happy to come back and try out the famous grilled cheese when I come back !! Highly recommend

Comment: I found Shift while scrolling through TikTok, and OMG, I am glad I did! I told my wife we should try this before our morning walk and it did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, Shift Coffee was amazing! 🤩 The coffee special “mellow pumpkin pie latte” was perfect in every way. Not too sweet, full of flavor, and sooo delicious 😋. We were going to share a grilled cheese and ended up choosing two and sharing. We could not stop praising the deliciousness of both breakfast grilled cheese sandwiches (Del Paso Del Sol & French Connection), the atmosphere was perfect. I definitely recommend Shift Coffee! We will be back to share the experience with more friends and family.

Comment: Cute place.PBJ bacon grilled cheese and caramel apple latte was 20$. I didnt eat my sandwich (it sounded good... the cheese threw me off. Had it not been there, I would have liked it) and coffee was okay. Id go back for coffee but have something different to decide if I actually like their coffee or not. The food was good but I can make better grilled cheeses at home considering cost.I cant stand that coffee places charge a $1 or more for alternative milk. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to coffee shops. The coffee is already 7-8$ ... add another $1 why dont you *eye roll*

Comment: My partner and I are regulars here ever since we moved to the area- I truly think this is Sacramento’s best kept secret and it’s mindblowing to me that there aren’t lines out the door constantly! The grilled cheese is delicious every single time, and we love trying new coffees. We tend to order the breakfast grilled cheeses, and they’re all equally delicious! The staff here make everything they serve with care. Even when they’re busy, I know I will get the same quality every time. I can’t commend them enough for that because that’s not an easy thing to achieve.I’m loyal to an iced cuban, but their new tiramisu latte is a great treat. We typically order ahead online, and my partner loves to order the barista special. He loves their coffee so much that he lets them craft their own for him with no restrictions. He is always pleasantly surprised by their creativity and has yet to be disappointed! I wish I could remember all of the employees by name, but regardless, everyone is so kind and welcoming. It’s such a great environment in there, and we love everything shift has to offer whether we’re dining in or ordering to go. I hope that these employees are taken care of well and that this treasure of a coffee house gets all of the recognition it deserves!

Not the best area with homeless passing by on Del Paso, can get a bit smokey inside from grill, but always fast service and never too busy. Outside area is nice as well. Employees are awesome, coffee is amazing and service in glass cups if dining in.

Comment: Stopped by here while visiting Sacramento. My daughter found it on-line and we decided to give it a try. Very welcoming when we arrived. We ordered the Cali Cruiser and it was delicious. The combination of flavors along with the surprise crunch of potato chips (evoking childhood memories) was really nice. There was spice (not too much) from the jalapeno, and sweet smokey flavor from the bacon was very complimentary. There was even a hint of cinnamon on the bread which may or may not have been intentional but made me rethink how I would make a hot ham and cheese sandwich. The potato salad was super creamy and also tasty. I would definitely come here again when we go to Sacramento.

Comment: In a nutshell; Pretty good place to stop by and enjoy some grilled cheeze sandwiches and coffee.Seems to be tucked at a rather hidden area which was quite a surprise when my sister told me about it. They have quite a vast choice for grilled cheeze all of which sound rather scrumptious. Our order didnt take too long to come out which was a plus. Got the kitchen sink grilled cheeze order which was great. Though I must admit, the bread was a bit more on the burnt side than the toasty side for my liking, the sandwich was still well made blending a great mix of savory and sweetness so every bite was a welcome treat. The drink was great as well. They had a matcha lavender type of drink special which tasted great and the flavor was well concocted. Ambience of the place was that of vintage stuff even sporting a really old Mac computers tucked in one of the corners. Parking may prove rather difficult if it ever gets busy in the area which is a warning to future dwellers. Overall place was great. Would go again.

Dell paso isnt the best location but this is I will say one of the best coffee places Ive been to thus far. I had the O.D.Bee & the Firehouse 20 sandwich. The coffee, which came with honey and Lavender was some of the smoothest, unique, and great tasting coffee I’ve ever tried, and he uses butter milk in the coffee, just perfection!👌🏻😍 The Firehouse sandwich, when he started grilling, the great smell of butter filled the restaurant and I instantly became extremely hungry. I’m just glad that I was ordering the sandwich, otherwise I wouldn’t have made it by lunch.🤪 The sandwich was also bomb, I would definitely recommend everyone check this place out!👌🏻☺️ The historic display of car stuff alone is worth coming here and meet the owner, Mike.This place he opened back in 2018 and I’m glad that he’s still running it and that I could have experienced great customer service with some great food, and a smooth coffee.I was joking with Mike about the turbo on the top shelf on display. I was trying to grab that one to go😆😅 Too bad, he said that it wouldn’t fit into a to go bag. So next time I visit, I’m bringing my own bag😉😂

They made us feel very welcome, engaging in conversation about their brewing process. They recently switched to all manual brewing and let me tell you, what a worthy venture. The espresso was incredible. We got the fall special, a salted caramel toffee latte. The toffee was a perfect compliment to the espresso roast. Cannot recommend Shift Coffee House enough! Comment: This place is amazing. I had the kitchen sink and my partner had the brisket on sourdough (cant remember the name.) The kitchen sink comes with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top, and when they grilled it, it caramelized to a slight crunch on top that was perfect. Extra points for the small and perfectly done cheese skirt that had pieces of bacon in it that had slid out of the sandwich.For folks like us who arent eating out indoors, they have limited and very spread out patio dining, but we didnt have a problem getting a spot even though we went at 10:30 on a Saturday. Also, their music was mainly 70s-80s rock. Fun!!Were definitely coming back here - I cant believe Id missed this place until now!

Comment: Nice atmosphere and pleasant workers. but super slow. 18 minutes for two drip coffees. Maybe the cashier isnt allowed to wash their hands to pour the coffee. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but... any other coffee place doesnt put you in queue with espresso drinks and food orders, especially when its not super busy and the coffee carafe is sitting right there. Due to covid, they said, cant use my personal cup. But instead they handed over the bottle of half and half without pouring any into its own cream server. Oh, and the coffee wasnt even hot.

I added double shots to both drinks, a mocha and the OD bee, to make it not taste like an adult milk beverage. It’s chalky tasting, and watery. It taste like a combination of french press coffee that sat overnight in the grounds mixed with the driest powder chocolate. I was also charged sales tax on my to go, iced coffees. I ate the Da Philly and to splurge also got the Sweet Cheesus (😄 love the name!) and they were worth every penny! Im going to have to try the whole menu! 😄I make fancy grilled cheese at home all the time but OMG they take it to another level! The brisket was soft, tender, smokey combined with the veggies and cheese that enfolded everything in its loving embrace between two perfectly buttery golden brown pieces of sourdough such gloriously decadent heaven! And I havent even gotten to dessert! The Sweet Cheesus is everything above with sweet added in and even more decadent! What a glorious food experience! They are grilled cheese masters, magicians and artisans worthy of their reputation!If youre in a rush and need your food to be ready in under 5 minutes go somewhere else. This is slow food, a place where everything is carefully handcrafted with care and Love and such Perfection cannot be rushed! If you dont greasy cheesy goodness, its not for you.I got an iced Tokyo Tea and it was great and refreshing. Has a hint of lavender that didnt overpower the jasmine green tea. It blended and complimented it nicely.I got the bay area brisket and my wife got the hot as hell sandwich (its not actually spicy in our opinion). Both were delicious. The tomato soup was delicious and went well with the sandwich.

As-is, were happy its not and is our go-to coffee shop near our place.Its got very cool motorcycle decor and always plays Top Gear / Grand Tour on their tv. Nice lounge chairs and a small, secluded garden sitting area thats reminiscent of Italy or the like. Sandwiches are serious albeit a bit spendy for a fancy grilled cheese. Pastries are also spendy. The coffee is on par for a hip coffee joint (so also a bit spendy). Worth a visit if youre nearby.Only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is because: 1) they have something akin to a bankers schedule which can be frustrating during the holidays 2) they dont give discounts for bringing your own coffee cup (I think thats industry standard). 3) customer service is kinda spotty and seems to depend on how much help they have that day.see ya there!

They are cooked to perfection so you must wait a bit. But it is TOTALLY worth every bite.Excellent customer service. Comment: Looking for an alternative from Downtown Sacramento scene and pastry for lunch (not necessarily a bad thing most days), I found Shift Coffee House. A combination of locals, service men and women, keyboard warriors, and father-daughter dates filled the coffee house to escape the midday heat.Oh, the grilled cheese menu is overwhelmingly awesome and the lemonade refreshers hit the spot any time of day. I cant wait to come back to be surrounded by vintage roadster memorabilia, friendly staff, and cheese melting on the flattop.

Comment: Coffee is great and the grilled cheese is on point. We had the Hot As Hell sandwich with grilled chicken, Jalapeño and Habanero cheese, and mango hab hot sauce (and a sprinkle of canjun salt on top before the top grill in brought down) - Amazing! And then on the other end of the spectrum the Youre Cheesy Honey sandwich with honey, blood orange olive oil, fontina and cheddar - Wow!

Comment: This place was the nearest locally owned coffee shop. The service was friendly and welcoming especially with children. We had fresh doughnuts and for us parents, the toasted coconut almond mocha!!! Just pure perfection mildly sweet with Califia almond milk. Plus the owners throw their own special touch to their lattes.

Comment: Cozy little coffee shop with a classic Motorsports theme. Doubles as Caseo Kings, specializing in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. You will not be disappointed. Im slowly working through the menu and havent found anything yet that wasnt amazing. Whether its espresso or nitro cold brewed they got you covered on the coffee side and have a nice selection of pastries and muffins for those on the go.

Comment: I came in there on the rainy Thursday. I found the place no problem! Great location! The place is my kind of decor, race theme with car parts, books, wall art and a crazy looking motorcycle in the front! Place is clean the staff was very helpful and very nice! She recommended the sandwich and it was so delicious and filling! The drip coffee was also very good! I like the medium roast! And this batch was amazing! Thank you very much shift coffee house! I came from Jersey and found this place on google because of good reviews! God Bless this place and staff!

Comment: When it comes to Coffee its always hard to find the right coffee for me. Finally I have found a good place for coffee, only one coffee got impressed so far. White Chocolate Cherry Cocha was a really good coffee, one cup only because more then one it gets to overpowering and I had two! The sandwiches are ok, I personally wouldn’t come back for a sandwich but I will be back for the coffee. The place is a good place to chill and relax with friends or do to school work. The Patio is missing some Palm trees to make look better. The coffee shop has an old rusted look look like New Orleans style. Overall I was happy to be here.

Comment: I wandered in to shift coffee about an hour ago, not expecting anything special. Dolly greeted and waited on me. I ordered the Mardi Gras sandwich - trying to cur down on cheese intake even though this sandwich ignores my self imposed restrictions - I was glad cheated and feasted on it. Also nice to witness dolly washing her hands before touching anything in the kitchen, so many times the person who handles the money is also the person touching food. dolly checked in asking how the sandwich tasted, and disclosed the cheese is also made by shift house. She made other suggestions on the menu upon learning I’m staying in next door hotel and was so personable and sincere I had to come back to my itty bitty hotel room and pen this review. If only dolly could serve breakfast bedside, that would be epic. I highly recommend this establishment.

Comment: I found this place during our stay at The Greens Hotel. Its such a hidden gem and well worth dropping in. The decor is so rustic and inviting. The motorcycle furnishings and auto theme gives it a nice touch as well.Dolly was a joy and provided excellent customer service. She really knows her stuff and was great at making suggestions and answering our questions.In the morning time, my husband and I had coffee: the Mexican Mocha and the Toasted Coconut Almond Mocha...both very tasty although I enjoyed the Toasted Mocha best.We returned later in the evening and enjoyed the best adult grilled cheese weve ever tasted. My husband and I both had variations of the Garden Highway, both with no eggs and on wheat bread. He opted to add Smoked Cheddar and spinach and I added garlic jack and spinach to my sandwich. The Long Beach Lemonade is a genius mixture of goody goodness.We cant wait to return!

But what will have me coming back is the Great customer service. Ive been to other places where the coffee was good but the customer service was horrible.
