Comment: I had heard so many great things about Republique, especially their pastries, but we were slightly underwhelmed. We ordered the Ube cookie, pain au chocolat, and the French baguette (total was $28). The Ube cookie and pain au chocolat were good but nothing memorable. We enjoyed the baguette but it was a bit pricey for $14.We would still recommend trying Republique but it’s not our favorite spot in LA. The staff and service were very friendly though and ambiance was unique and enjoyable.

Comment: Saw so many good reviews about this place so was excited to try it out. Went around 8:30 so there wasnt a long line. We tried the mushroom toast and potato pancake. The pancake was super duper salty so i wouldn’t rec. Also the “poached eggs” were not runny so that was sad. The mushroom toast was better than the pancake, tons of mushroom. I was quite annoyed at the servers as we sat right in front of the kitchen i saw our dishes cooked and just sat on the counter for at least 10 minutes. So when we got the food it was already cold. I almost wanted to just walk over and serve the food myself. The tipping is also quite high for basically no service.

Comment: Made reservation last night, can’t make it today because I have Covid. Called at 9am to let them know and cancel and they still charged $50 for cancellation even though the restaurant is not full, there are still reservations available for every time tonight. Do not make a reservation ahead of time, just walk in if you are going to go

Comment: So it’s Valet parking only. Cost 13.25. Went in, place is lovely just like the pictures, but there aren’t waiters. You order your food and pastries in a line like a cafeteria, and you go find a seat wherever you can (“Open seating”). For a breakfast burrito, a sausage/egg bagel, 2 coffees, 2 small pastries, and a single pancake, it came out to over 110 dollars. That’s without valet and the tip I forgot to omit while paying on the iPad.Maybe worth visiting once, MAYBE, but I definitely can’t say we didn’t enjoy it.Cheers

Comment: Went for dinner and was a little underwhelmed. Its pricey, and for the price I thought the food was only ok. Server definitely was less attentive with our table than others, I assume because we werent getting wine so there was less potential for tip. In any case, just didnt feel particularly welcoming.

Comment: We had such an amazing time here, the pastries were fantastic, passion fruit strawberry pie was not as sweet as I thought it will be and great to conclude the meal with it.Shashuka was tangy with the right amount of spice in it, mix with runny egg yolk and the perfectly baked baguette, it was a perfect meal on its own.I love cherries so it was so lovely to see cherries with ricotta on sourdough bread, aesthetically it was so beautiful to eat it! I was being greedy and ordered a side bacon to go with it but none of us was prepared the size of this bacon, it was like a whole block of it, we can’t get enough of it.Coffee was good and I highly recommend the pastry to go if you can.Go early if you can, we were there on a weekday at 8+ and once 9, we were all mindblown by how long the queue is.They occupy at least 3 levels of the building if I am not wrong and perfect locations to host events I would reckon.

Comment: We found this place by searching best restaurants in LA. Its high popularity intrigued us, so we decided to see what makes it special. We visited during lunchtime and had a light meal: a couple of desserts, a salad, and a soup. The food didnt leave a strong impression; it tasted quite ordinary, and there were some service issues. However, the restaurants interior truly delighted us – it was very impressive. Additionally, we recommend learning about the owners story, which adds an extra layer of charm and interest to the place.

Comment: It’s worth the wait! The standard breakfast is my go to and just a perfect plate of classic favorites (seriously perfect). The jam is homemade and nostalgic, the coffee bar is superb. The French toast is the BEST I have ever had and easily top 2 best breakfast items I’ve ever had. This is one of the few LA establishments that’s worth the hype.

Comment: If you’re going for a relaxing brunch to catch up with friends, I’d choose another place. More than two people? Families? Forget about it! I always find ordering and scouring for a table very disorganized. If you want another drink, not sure who to ask. Super loud and chaotic. Servers are rude and absent, likely because they’re just as stressed, poor guys. Why not do table service and the lineup can be for the pastries? All that to say, the food is delicious but going to stick to dinner when reservations can be made :)

Comment: For making you put a $25 deposit per person to reserve and ensure you aren’t late to your reservation, you’d expect they’d sit you at your time but that won’t be the case so even WITH a reservation, expect to wait to be seated. Valet is $15. The check will include a 4% fee that will prob make you want to tip less. Food was OK (4/10) nothing to rave about like the place is hyped up to be by others.

Comment: Definitely a place to invest in a special occasion dinner. To watch the action set on the high tops overlooking the shared long tables and the beautiful architectural structure, or for a quiet, romantic dinner go to the back dining rooms. The duck was the highlight of our dinner. Lobster pasta was sublime but lukewarm. Maybe purposely? I felt the Wagyu missed the mark as well as the spinach potato purée that accompanied it. Loved the mocktails for us. Non-alcohol drinkers. Hopefully another occasion in my future to return. Great service. Hard to find these days….

Comment: I stopped by République café recently and absolutely loved it! I tried the baguette and the quiche of the day, and both were delightful. The baguette was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just like youd find in France. The quiche was flavorful, with a light, flaky crust and a rich, savory filling. Comment: Wow, what a great dinner at Republique! My associate remarked how much the French baguette tasted of the ones he had when he lived in France. The baby gem salad with green goddess dressing was everything you want: crisp, fresh, light and yet packed with flavor. The white asparagus prepared in the Cacio e Pepe style was a standout. The butternut squash agnolotti was creamy and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The Green Circle chicken was probably the best chicken I have ever had. Wish we’d had room for dessert! Next time! If you ever need to use the services of a professional cyber security consultant, I would recommend McRae investigations firm mcraespy at outlook dot com for professional investigative services like acquiring information for court cases, kids phone tracking and monitoring, pet surveillance, retrieve lost or stolen digital assets, data, track & monitor a vehicle and lots more. Comment: Arguably LAs best known brunch spot and it lives up to the hype! The food and atmosphere here are simply top notch. A must visit! If you arrive for brunch, find some street parking and be prepared to stand on about a 20 to 30 minute line before you order. It goes by fast though, because the last bit of the line is along the pastry counter so you can choose what pastries you want to add on to your meal or take home with you! After you order, you seat yourself in their expansive dining rooms or patio. Our expectations were high, and dishes here are tad pricier and smaller than other brunch places, yet still the food simply blew us away. The breakfast burrito was covered in the best sauce Ive ever tasted. The ham in the croque madame was the perfectly crispy and savory. Even the simple butter lettuce salad with the latter dish was delicious due to the super fresh leaves and light, tasty dressing. The pastries are incredible too - our favorite was the kouign amann. We will be back for sure, theres more delicious looking breakfast dishes to try. They serve dinner in the evenings as well, though that one is even pricier and certainly requires advance reservations.

Comment: Came in for some cocktails and a small dinner! Slightly dark and trendy/kitchen-esque vibe. I tried both of their Old Fashions, one was smoky and the other (classic) was not, but they are both amazing! They also came in a larger glass than typical. We came by during dinner time and since we were trying to meet up with others at a different place, only had their oysters and Brussel sprouts. The oysters were extremely small, but my friend said were delicious. You can choose oysters from the East or West. The sprouts were good, but not entirely unique. Know that the style for dinner is family style and they have multiple items for different courses. Our server was great and knowledgeable. He was able to describe the entire menu succinctly and did it well.

Comment: The overall morning dining experience for breakfast feels very rushed and stressful. You have to stand in a line and pick out all the pastries and food items while in line and be completely ready to rattle off your order by the time you get to the register. Its just an overall unpleasant and stressful experience if youre looking to go out to eat and have a nice meal with family - particularly if any of them are of older age or handicapped like in our case. Its all self seating in the morning with no little to no help from staff which also doesnt help contribute to an enjoyable experience. No real complaints about the quality of the food but also nothing that really stands out. If a menu item sounds simple, then probably expect something as simple as it sounds. The significantly higher price point compared to other restaurants isnt reflected in any way in a higher quality meal here. A simple omelette with cheese for $21 in 2024 is a bit ridiculous given you just had to stand in a deli style line and seat yourself to get it.This place might be more worthwhile as a dinner experience, but we do not see ourselves coming back for breakfast again.

Comment: I just had lunch here, and one of the servers spilled a lot of coffee on my clothes. These clothes were a souvenir I bought with my girlfriend when we went to Australia, so I wasnt feeling good about it. The server just laughed and said the manager would come, but that attitude was really unpleasant. The manager came and gave me their contact information, saying all further actions should be communicated through them via phone or email. Today is my last holiday, and I have to go back to Canada. They told me to received a note from the dry cleaner and email the business manager, who said they would contact me again to discuss what they can do after all those action. Its the worst. The time I have to invest in all of these actions is too much, and I wont be able to use my jacket until I return to Canada. They made me spend my last day of vacation dealing with this one piece of clothing. Its the worst. This restaurant, trying to solve their mistake by using the customers time, had the worst handling compared to all the restaurants Ive been to. I hope you reconsider visiting here.

Comment: This place is so cute! You order at the front and sit anywhere you like. Its huge inside. They also have an upstairs and a patio. I dont know how they find you! All the food I walked by that other people were having looked AMAZING! I had the French Toast. SO GOOD! All their bread looks house made and you can see into the kitchen where they make it. They also looked like they had a lot of good pastries in the front. I also had a caramel latte which was so good and they put a heart on it. My friends had the Matcha Latte and the Ube Latte. The Ube one was very good. My friend also had the mushroom soup and caesar salad that came with a sandwich. Again, everything was so delicious. My friend recommended this place to me who has lived here for 20 years and now I know why. It must also be very popular with a lot of influencers because I saw a TON of people taking pictures and videos. Very friendly customer service as well. We went for breakfast/brunch obviously but they are open for dinner as well. They do have parking right beside the building that you have to pay for but if you are willing to walk there is some neighborhood street parking around the back. Definitely one of my top places here! Cant wait to go again!

And when I saw it, I was a bit disappointed but I couldn’t change the rsvp because I got a fee. Finally I tried and regret that was barely anything in the menu. And the risotto that I ordered was very expensive without meat. Not worth it at all. The service is good and the place is also nice.

Comment: A stable and landmark brunch spot in Los Angeles. Its very popular both for the locals and tourists.Their shakshouka is just amazingly good, and their constantly changing, creative pastries are simply the best. You cant go wrong just trying everything on the menu. The line is always long but it moves fast. Parking nearby can be an issue but this place is totally worth it. My advice is to come early with an empty tummy to eat!

Comment: Not my jam. Good spot for hip folks. Too expensive for my taste and the parking was difficult. The people and staff were snobby yuppies. Were more casual. Food was ok, but again not worth the price points for the long drive we made to visit. Good for young beautiful rich people living in LA. Overall, glad we tried it but wont go back.

Comment: The BEST pastries I’ve ever had! I bring any visiting guests to Republique and make sure to get there by 9 am so the pastry case still has plentiful options. The line is usually ~20 mins long and the service is very efficient. I really enjoy the aesthetic of the building and the overall character of the space. I’ve never disliked anything I’ve tried both savory and sweet, but my favorites as of today are: mixed berry croissant, early grey Madeleine, and Parmesan tomato danish.

Comment: We decided to stop by on a rainy Saturday, so we had to line up for about 30min under the rain - no big deal. My 3 stars rating is not about the food - which was delicious - but rather about the cashiers that greet you at the front counter to get your order. I kept asking questions about the food on the menu and they were clearly bothered, rolling their eyes and walking away while I was talking to them. They were not willing to explain what the food was, so basically they just want you to place your order, pay, TIP, and go away. At a place like this, which is considered pricey, I was expecting a more friendly and helpful staff. On the other hand, the servers who got us the food to the table were kind.Another negative note about the place, several people kept coming to stand right next to us like vultures while we were eating, which felt uncomfortable, as they wanted us to rush into our food so they could take our place. No etiquette whatsoever. I think management should find a solution for that and have a system that allows people to find a seat without all of this awkwardness happening. I’m not sure we will be back again. Maybe it’s a better place for tourists but not locals. Big disappointment.

Comment: Came to see what the hype was and damnnn was it good. All the usual pastries but also some unique ones to try outside the norm. The savory brioche with Gruyère and caramelized onions were out of this world. Was told the crème bomboloni doughnuts were fantastic. The ube cookie was so good I could barely pace myself. The omelets were very well made….just open up a location in Miami please. Thank you 🙏

Comment: The food was great, highly recommend the kimchi fried rice totally worth it. The BLT Benedict is also decent but I wish the portion can be a bit more. The reason I give four stars is the restaurant has a serious problem for finding seats. Since there’s no one assign seats for you, which everyone sits anywhere they want. In this case, some spaces maybe wasted. For instance, 2 people seats on 4 people’s table. Moreover, the floor are greasy, almost slipped on others people’s food on the floor. The last thing that’s super weird, I don’t know why the customers have to pay for employees’ health insurance or other payments. Fortunately, you can tell the cashier you don’t want to pay for that extra money. If customers have to pay for that payment, what’s the meaning of giving tips. In short, hope they can add more servers to clean the waste and set up the table faster because everyone just standing there and don’t where to sit. I also prefer to assign seats for customers so the customers don’t have to spend extra time worrying place to sit.

Comment: As a culinary experience... wow. We went for dinner and the food, everything, from the soup to the dessert, was incredible. Service could be worked on. My friend and I both felt we were being HIGHLY suggested to buy more and more and more. It was a little too pushy. We understand thats how restaurants survive these days, but... it wasnt subtle enough.Would I go back again? Absolutely. Was too delicious not to. I also must add, its not for any wallet. Its quite pricey. But worth it if you feel like tresting yourself for a great meal.

Comment: Brunch at this République was an absolute delight. Arriving at 10am allowed us to easily secure a table, a smart move considering the popularity that attracts a large crowd later on. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the pastries, with the Ube croissant standing out as a must-try. It paired wonderfully with their cappuccino, a real treat for dark roast coffee aficionados. Additionally, the lobster omelette deserves a special mention for its exceptional fluffiness and rich flavor. This place is a gem for brunch enthusiasts and we highly recommend it.

Comment: Very cute brunch/bakery spot. You order in line before being seated. While waiting to pay you can see all the amazing pastries they have which are supposed to be some of the best in LA.I had their brown butter cookie which was delicious but def heavy on the butter. Also had their pistachio raspberry Amman and it was amazing. Cream, flaky, buttery. And they have many more pastries that they’re better known for. Also had their short rib burrito which was smothered in a delicious red sauce. Very tasty but also very filling.Excited to go back and try more pastries and other brunch items.

With a solid foundation in bakery and pastry items, most of the menu offerings are likely to be a hit. Comment: A very popular cafe and restaurant serving a large assortment of delicious pastries and baked goods. Stopped by around 1pm for brunch. You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. I ordered the shashouka, a couple pastries and the house coffee. Me and my group decided that honestly we would just come here for the pastries and coffee and skip the breakfast. Although not bad, the breakfast is overpriced for what it is. The coffee was good. The pastries were great and I would love to try some more. The banana cream pie was also a yummy bite. There is lots of seating, some is in a sunny open space and some towards the back in a little bit more cozy space. I plan to come back and try some different items and love the fact it is in this historical building that used to be Charlie Chaplins.

Comment: République Café Bakery & République Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of charm in L.A. The fantastic location, delicious food, and friendly service make it a true gem. And of course, dont even think about leaving without indulging in those incredible pastries!République Café Bakery & République Restaurant stole my heart (and stomach) on a recent trip to L.A.! Nestled in a charming 1920s building, this French gem delivered on all fronts: location, service, food, and those divine pastries.Like many chic Parisian cafes, you order at the counter first, then snag a table and wait for your culinary delights to arrive. Comment: We went to this restaurant while in Los Angeles, primarily because of the reviews. The pastries were probably our favorite. They have plenty of options. The breakfast items we had, the BLT Benedict and the Waffle, were fine. The waffle had no flavor, and the only redeeming feature was the berries on it. Its expensive for the amount of food you get, but the atmosphere is lovely.

Comment: The food is delicious. The Breakfast Sandwich is good but nothing out of the ordinary.French toast is very good and light. We loved the Koshihikari Rice. Very unique flavor and texture. Its kind of a cafeteria style restaurant, so the service is not great. For first time visitors you would like to have a better interaction with the staff to order the right things. They seemed rushed which I understand given the long lines. Come early before 10 am. Comment: Very popular place, quite crowded even on a Monday mid-morning. Loved the pastry, brunch offerings and the coffee. Descent food quality and unique decor. Might try one of their juices next time, saw a few other tables ordered them, all flavors looked fresh and nice! The ordering system is slightly confusing with their instructions by the door, but essentially is to wait in line to enter the front door, meanwhile take a look at their menu online, place all orders with the cashier, they give you a number, find a place to sit inside, they bring food to you.

Comment: The the outside patio is large and shaded, but the interior dining room is where its at. The place looks like a 16 century Belgian Abbey with brick and stone everywhere. Two archways take you from the voluminous dining area in front of the open kitchen to the back dining area, complete with wine cellar, and plenty more seating. The combination of preservation of old stone architecture and new materials and modern design is just incredible. The shakshouka and the chorizo toast were delicious. Tje canelé and the interestingly shape Madeline were also very tasty. The latte served in the ceramic cup and saucer was delightful. The green and carrot juices were as expected-healthful and refreshing. The classic French baguette was one of the best weve had in a while. Please Big up to AP Tours for the rec. Now, let’s move on to the better part of my review, their food, pastries, natural juice options and coffee are to die for. Comment: Wonderful experience at Republique that lived up to the hype. We ate dinner and brunch the following day since we liked it so much and wanted to try the pastries. For dinner, they have an upscale feel without feeling too stuffy. We got the baguette with pan drippings, Belgian endives, the Cod, Duck confit, French fries, and the apple date tart. Everything was delicious and well-balanced. Service was great and you can tell they have standards there. Wine list is also very extensive. For brunch, it is a little hectic since you wait in line, order, and then find a seat. However, the price point is lower though still on the higher end, but it is worth it. The pastries alone are worth waiting in line. We got the shakshouka, brioche French toast, and shrimp and grits. The brioche French toast was one of the best brunch items Ive eaten. It was thick but still airy and crispy. The rest were pretty good but would probably order something else next time.

Despite the food, the vibes were nice, making it a decent spot for hanging out with friends or LA newcomers. However, the overpriced parking at $13.50 on a Saturday morning was a drawback. Comment: Their line is always long during brunch hours! Waited in line for 1 hour. When you walk in, they’ll take your pastry order first. Let them know if you are dining in or take out. The plate/container is out into consideration!Order at the front and they’ll hand a cup with a number. Then you’re free to find a spot to sit. They do have upstairs as long as it’s not closed. They need to see your cup number to bring you your food!Croque madam: it was delicious!! I wish they added more bechamel sauce but the amount spread on the toast was still fine. Would recommend!Cauliflower nachos: it’s pretty good!! Majority of the nachos are covered with their sauce which I do like. They could definitely add more cauliflower as we got many small pieces and a few larger pieces sprinkled around the plate.Koshihikari rice: mix it!! 2 poached eggs was the perfect amount! The flavor was so delicious! Would recommend!Ginger ale: lots of ginger! It’s good!!Parking: we parked on the street in the residential and walked over to the restaurant. It’s not far, but definitely do not block others driveway!Price: their price is higher but I’d say to give it a try! They have lots of unique food and pastries. I’ve been trying all their dishes every time I come and have been loving it!

Comment: Where should I begin? The positive: the food is unbelievably good! We tried the BLT, and it’s out of this world. We wanted to try everything from the pastry window, but it’s almost impossible due to the wide variety. We ordered the croque madame, and while the ingredients and flavors are top quality, the combination left us feeling sorry. It missed the creamy and cheese experience in the kitchen! Nothing to do with the original. The creme brulee bombolone and the other one, I can recall its name, were excellent! Finally, the atmosphere is beautiful! But, there are also some negative things.First, the system to get in has many flaws. After almost 40 minutes of waiting, you pay for everything in advance, just to realize the place is practically empty! That’s so frustrating…Second, the service. They have zero interest in giving you a good experience. Could it be related to the pay-out front system?

Tom, our server, was patient and professional, going through in details the sharing style and recommended many dishes. What was greatly appreciated was his consideration of our appetite (ordering too much?) and timing. The sommelier is also professional, knowledgeable, and helpful considering our preferences. Every dish is a creation of dynamic flavours and contrasting texture using fresh, interesting ingredients. Baguette is delicious too (must order). Venue can get noisy. As for parking, street parking can be challenging, valet is easy ($15).

Take a menu card, join the queue, order at the cashier, take your number then find a table. The chai pudding was a good combination of flavours. The lobster omelette was flavourful. The short rib sandwich was delicious. The hong kong milk tea was a tad disappointing, probably not done the traditional way. Stick to their gourmet coffee 👍

Comment: The hostess was amazing, but our server was rude.He would just slide plates on the table, drop the utensils and barely passed by our table to check if we needed anything or if we were good.but putting that aside because the food is always the star of the show.I don’t need to itemize this review as EVERYTHING we tried from Republique was good.

Comment: A nice place to visit. The way to order is to stand in line, place an order, grab a number and find a seat inside. Simple, easy and straightforward. The wait time in the line was about 20 minutes? If that. And food was another 20 min or so. Not bad, thought it would be longer considering the line. But staff are on it. Street parking only, unless you about that valet life (I am not 🤣). I ordered an Ube latte and shakshouka. I loved that the ube didnt taste... Fake/powdery. They might actually use real ube paste. The shakshouka was flavorful and filling and I like the chickpeas that were added. The bread they make onsite was delicious and not touch/chewey. My friend got the breakfast sandwich and an assortment of pastries along with the masala chai latte. If you love tumeric and ginger, get it. Itll wake you tf up frfr.

Comment: This is a very large restaurant with many workers hustling all over the place. The food was very good and introduced us to something different. All dishes were very good including the corn pasta and the truffle appetizer. Two of the dishes, the cheek meat and the soft shell crab, were good but both were way too salty (not the crab, but the rice it came with the crab was very salty). All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.

Comment: I took my family to République Café Bakery & République Restaurant about a week ago. I was there 5 mins before the restaurant opened up. We were very excited since we had heard so many great things about their service and food.As we walked in, we saw so many delicious pastries, and I was there with my wife and daughter, so I had them sit in the corridor area with a beautiful view of their architecture. I went to order our food, and I didn’t see my wife because we were asked to move since our stroller was sticking out. My wife seemed very upset but didn’t say anything; after we got served our food, I was looking for salt and pepper for my eggs.I looked around, and other people were offered the except us, and this upset me, so we requested to talk to a server, the same server who asked us to move from our seats. The server said it’s a café style restaurant, and if you wanted something, you needed to ask at the counter; when we asked, you served the other family their request but refused to assist with our response. I served them their food, and I am not your server, but I said, but you just told me if you need something, I need to go to the front desk, but you just served them, and I asked you to tell my wife to move without giving her information where to move to, his response was its common sense to move out of the walkway, I said common sense is common courtesy to provide customer benefit of the doubt that you care and assist them.I then requested their manager, and her response was an apology, and we could offer you some pastries.I had no issue with their food, but the service of the “café” was just trash, or maybe prejudice towards South Asian people because of how we were treated.

Comment: We went here for breakfast because my daughter wanted to give it a try. We got up early so we could walk in when they opened. The variety of pastries was astounding and amazing. We tried four pastries, and they were all quite good. We also ordered breakfast. The food is so good. I would go there again and just have pastries and coffee. You could not go wrong with anything here. There was a line by the time it opened and it stayed that way until we left.

Comment: 4.5. Actually pretty good just the price are little expensive but we are in LA, let’s just talk about how good the food is. And yes, it’s good, the only thing is it’s too greasy if you ate the whole things. I really don’t like much greasy food so please when you order, consider don’t order too much!

Comment: The best French restaurant Ive ever been to! The baguette is a must try-- freshly baked with the right amount of crispiness and chewiness. I like how they pair savoury flavours with sweet flavours via fruits like peaches; it makes the dish a lot more interesting and most adventurous for the taste buds. The duck is also very delicious as the skin was crunchy but the meat was tender. The corn ravioli is soft with a burst of corn flavours (I would recommend paying extra for truffles because it really puts the whole dish together). The ambience mimics France: upon entering, its as if you entered a house. If you ever visit LA, this is a fantastic spot to have lunch or dinner.

Comment: Beautifully curated menu with unreal attention to detail, everything we ordered was cooked and presented astoundingly. The restaurant itself is historic, having been owned at one point by Charlie Chaplin, and a treat to see itself, and also hosts one of LA’s best bakeries. This is a must-experience for the SoCal region.

Comment: Republique has always been one of my favorite breakfast spots in LA! I highly recommend their potato pancakes, pastries, eggs Benedict, and brioche french toast. However, during my last visit, I was disappointed to find that the brioche french toast did not quite live up to my memory of it from before COVID. It was not as creamy on the inside, and the caramelized sugar layer was not as perfectly crispy as I remembered. Nevertheless, I still cherish their recipe book, which I acquired a few years ago, and have been able to replicate their brioche toast recipe at home ever since!

Comment: Fabulous. The ambiance buzzes with the joy of life. Service is only a 4 b/c you basically serve yourself, however the staff is certainly fab. Would rate higher if it was full service. Food is great, albeit inflated in cost for being in LA. At some point, the more expensive the food is, the worse it begins to taste. I realize it is probably the cost of doing business, but an omelette is just an omelette..

Comment: I recently visited Republique for breakfast and while the food wasnt outstanding, there were aspects of the dining experience that stood out. The bakery and sweet offerings were absolutely delicious. From the moment I stepped in, the aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air, enticing me to try their delectable treats. The pastries were flaky, the cakes were moist, and the overall quality was excellent. Moreover, the ambiance at Republique was truly remarkable. The restaurant had a charming and inviting atmosphere, with its elegant decor and a bustling energy. The combination of rustic and modern elements created a unique and memorable dining environment.Although the breakfast options didnt meet my expectations, the bakery and sweet offerings, along with the ambiance, salvaged the experience. Republique is definitely a place worth visiting for those seeking a delightful bakery experience and a wonderful ambiance.

Comment: This is an upscale French restaurant, but its definitely worth visiting. It can be quite crowded at the entrance, as many people are eager to dine here, even during lunchtime. But its worth it.Inside, youll find a delightful interior with various areas where you can comfortably spend your time. There are cozy spots near the windows, outdoor seating, and even a view of the bread-making process if you sit closer to the kitchen.Theres a wide variety of dishes available, but my advice to you is to be adventurous! Instead of opting for a sandwich, try the Shakshouka. Yes, its a meatless dish, but its so satisfying that youll never forget it!As for dessert, I highly recommend the meringue cookies. They are absolutely delicious!

Comment: Came to this restaurant after hearing about it on the podcast “dinner’s on me” by Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The food is delicious. Definitely very expensive and not for a casual meal. Comment: Came for brunch and don’t think I’ll ever come back. It’s overpriced for ok food. The BLT Benedict was good but the eggs were incredibly undercooked; egg white was watery and gooey. Comment: On our most recent trip to L.A., we stopped at Republique for brunch. We loved it so much we ended up going back twice more. That should tell you everything you need to know! The pastries are fantastic - in particular, the Basque cheesecake, the ube brioche, the kouign-amann, the rose raspberry doughnut and the madeleines. From the breakfast menu, Id recommend the Gioiella Ricotta Toast, the Regular Breakfast, the Granola and the Steak Frites. We also tried the Eggs Benedict - not my favourite item from the menu but a solid choice if you like Eggs Benedict in general. The French omelette was also quite good. We loved the granola so much, we bought a bag of the mix to bring home with us. Also, the bread and butter - amazing! The line moves very quickly so dont be discouraged if you see a lineup out the door. It gets quite busy but we managed to find seating every time. The restaurant has a busy vibrant ambiance during the day with a mix of individual and communal tables. We will definitely be back next time we are in Los Angeles!

Comment: A lovely meal! The atmosphere and design of the restaurant is absolutely adorable. We went for dinner with a reservation. Not a lot of street parking (theres metered parking but it has some restrictions), but they do have a valet lot. We paid $15 for valet on a Saturday night. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The staff gave great recommendations and assisted with choosing wine (they have a huge wine selection, very cool!). The food was very delicious. They even gave us a complimentary potato leek soup to start the meal! I enjoyed everything, but my favorite dishes were the English pea agnolotti and the Nova Scotia halibut. We also tried the liberty duck, bluefin tuna toast, fresh baguette, oysters, the raspberry sorbet, and coffee (cappuccino and latte). From what I know, the menu changes frequently so I definitely would love to come back and try something different! Its on the pricier side, but its so worth it for the quality, fresh, unique, innovative, and delicious dishes you get try. You can tell that the chef puts a lot of thought and care into each dish. Perfect for a special occasion, such a wonderful experience all around! Go check it out!

Comment: Meh. Beautiful space. I think in general the food was pretty tasty but it shouldnt command the prices that they do.The best things were the bread and dessert. Delicious. The dungeness crab, salad, and brussel sprouts were good. The proteins were pretty mediocre:1) The pork belly with caviar was a dish that cost $65 due to the usage of caviar. Yes, it tasted good but the caviar did not add much to the dish except for the price. The sauce is on the heavier side which mostly overpowered the caviar. Maybe that was the goal? I dont know2) The beef was just okay.3) The quail dish, while tasty, was obviously left out too long as the sauce has congealed.I really think the food wouldve been excellent had they charged maybe half the price, but it feels overpriced at their price point.Service was very good except for the fact they dont refill your wine for you even if you order a bottle. OTOH, the keep your water glasses topped up all the time.Oh, the wine list is pretty amazing too.

Comment: Good food, nice atmosphere, but not something incredible. We started with a baguette with drippings, a ceviche, and roasted vegetables. My favorite from the starters were the roasted vegetables and the free leek/potato amuse bouche. The baguette and ceviche were both good, but pretty standard.Mains wise, we had the lobster pasta, the rice porridge, and the wagyu beef. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to fully enjoy all of them. They all tasted good and were plated nicely, but again nothing to report home about. The only dish that stood out was the Dover sole. It tasted almost like how they cook it in France.

Comment: Wow! This place is totally worth all the hype. Youll have to go early and stand in line, but if you visit early, it really isnt a very long wait. We got 3 of their pastries for to go - pistachio pastry, bombolini and the amazing brown butter cake. You have to get their brown butter cake. A single bite of it literally transported me to paradise. Soo good! We also got their waffle and avocado toast. The bread of the toast was such good quality. Again - worth every bit of hype. Their lattes are delicious as well - got the proper aroma and taste of coffee. I had ordered black sesame latte confusing it to have espresso, the waiter graciously took it back and got a latte. Overall, definitely must visit this place.

Comment: This is a brunch review! Note that dinner is a different chef. We parked at the paid parking at la brae tarpits and walked the half mile. The line was to the end of the block and took about thirty minutes as it moves quickly. You place your order at the pastry counter and the food comes quickly which means the tables turn over faster than an order at the table style restaurant. The selection of food, both pastries and brunch is diverse and playful. While there are classic dishes even those have twists. For example the classic eggs and meat breakfast has “bacon steak” vs sliced bacon. (It was spectacular if your okay with plenty of fat). My potato pancake was like no other and hit the mark for interesting and delicious. Simply put, this was the best breakfast I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of breakfasts! Service was really good. Remember you order at the counter on the way in and then it’s open seating with both indoor and outdoor options. Bus and waiter staff were frequent and fast and super friendly. I came away feeling the lunch team really were concerned that you got the best meal experience they could offer. Small item but I always take my coffee with sugar but this coffee was so good I skipped the sugar. My suggestion is go here for both the culinary adventure and a trendy meal experience.

Comment: Extremely overhyped place.Popular due to vibe amongst young adults. You have to order ahead and get your own table. Horrible for busy weekends especially if you come as a group. Food is below average.Food - 2/5 - some of the pastries we ordered were either a hit or miss. The food, breakfast plater and shakshuka were below average. The standard breakfast platter was okay; the thick bacon was good but there was nothing special about it. The shakshuka lacked key flavors and was the typical shakshuka/tomato sauce dish. Drinks were good; fresh OJ was great.Service - came here for Easter Sunday and it was crowded. Line was long, around 20 min, and people were being yelled at to close the door when coming in. People taking the order don’t have the best service nor attitude, maybe from the hectic schedule, but it doesn’t entice visitors to look forward to their food. Worst part is getting your own table on a busy day in a crowded space. The vibe is chill but can get loud. You have to order ahead, pay, and find your seat with a number. Service is slow due to staff shortage. Since there is no waiter service, it’s hard to ask for things when needed or get a refill. Very inconvenient.Price - 2/5 - pastry and drink price is a little over average based on portion. Food is overpriced, especially since there’s nothing special, portion is average if not below and there’s no order service. You have to pay a tip when you place the order at the beginning since it’s a order before you get a seat.Accessibility - 1/5 no parking, $10 valet or metered street parking. Can’t park in the residential area as it is permits onlyCleanliness - 3/5 due to staff shortage and first come first basis, tables don’t get wiped down until asked (during the weekend). Restroom - N/AVibe - 3/5 - for the price of a restaurant, you’d expect to be seated but it’s a first come first serve basis and you have to chase down tables or stand in a busy, tight space and wait for a table to open. Extremely inconvenient.big indoor space and good covered outdoor space that is dog friendly.

Comment: Republique has been one of my favorite places for brunch and getting pastry in town, but the line has always been long. I decided to go there for a business dinner with a Reservation few days ago but the experience was somehow disappointing. We had a Reservation for two at 830pm in the back dining room but we were told to waited at the bar until 9pm. It was already embarrassing for me to tell my guest, then they offered us to sit at the communal table in the front with everyone passing through us. It was not ideal, so we decided to wait longer for the dining room we originally planned. The hostess told us the guests took much longer to dine that night, but we finally got seated in the table in the dining room almost 40 mins after our original reservation time. Then we had AC blasting on us at the table when it is only 50 degrees outside, and with a big table of drunk guys yelling and shouting next to us. People were wearing coats and jackets on them during dinner! The dining room was beautiful with high ceiling, but we felt like sitting outside in the cold in a loud, random marketplace. Our spot was unbearable, so we had to change. In the end, a table for two in the corner finally opened up, and we moved away from the noise and cold. Finally, we could order but our appetite was pretty much ruined. The food was still exceptional, especially the venison pate, beef cheek and market salad we ordered. The server for our table was very attentive, and helpful. But again, one dish came out cold and the crowd and experience on a regular Thursday night was questionable. With a menu with an entree at average $50 a dish and we spent nearly $200 per person for the night, we did not feel like the experience we had was up to the standards. There are plenty of nicer choices in town for the price point. My recommendations: I would only go back for brunch or day time, keep it casual and less expectation. If you wanna go for a romamtic date or business meal, think twice! Or get a table upstairs away from the noise and enjoy those delicious dishes.

Comment: Amazing restaurant! There is a reason that this restaurant is consistently rated so highly with an enormous number of reviews: exceptional food with excellent service in a beautiful atmosphere. The setting lends itself to any occasion and can accommodate both casual or more formal dinners. I sat in the atrium (where the arches are), which is a little reminscent of a European village. Recommend groups where everyone can share and taste a little bit of everything. I had the baguette with pan drippings, venison patte, and liberty duck. All were exceptional. A little pricey but within reason and totally worth it. I think the lunch and dinner menus are totally different so I will certainly try to return for brunch.

Comment: Had a fantastic dinner at République. The food is top notch - just really high quality dishes. The menu is inventive, although the “four course” structure threw us off a bit at first, we improvised our way through it and had a magnificent combination of dishes. The wagyu hawk steak was one of the best steaks I’ve eaten recently - celeriac, spinach and potatoes all making it absolutely stunning to eat.Special mention for the staff - the entire wait staff was super attentive, friendly and gave us great recommendations.Cannot recommend enough - the one critical note being that it can’t be denied it’s a pricey place to eat. But worth it if you ask us.

Comment: We came early in the morning for brunch and didnt have to wait! The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly! The best part of this restaurant is the interior design and the ambience. It is such a cool building and really well done! We easily found street parking a block away. My parents used the valet and it was a mess, so I would try to avoid it as much as possible. They lost someones keys and it took over 20 minutes to get our car back because there were so many people coming to the restaurant mid-day. Overall, a great spot and amazing food!

Comment: Parking is not easy, the line is long, but it is worth it. The service is very fast so line goes quickly. There is a vallet parking only and street parking is hard to find.Their pastry selection is great and everything is fresh and tastes delicious. The sitting area has many tables and it has a airy vibe. The service is very efficient. The food is really good. The quality of ingredients is high. The coffee they serve is Verve and one of the best coffee roasters in California. The weekend brunch is very popular so expect long line and some of the pastry items might finish

Comment: Still dreaming about the amazing pastries I had here. Truly unforgettable and this was the highlight of our LA trip.République is a dining destination. Must visit if you come to LA. Tried brunch on the last week of December. Long lines which seems to keep getting longer, parked on a meter a few blocks away. There is a express/to-go window if you want to grab a coffee and simple pastries. The selection is very limited. The line moves steadily so be patient.I quickly ordered a bunch of pastries to-go while waiting in line to order food for 3 people. The food order will be taken at the register. If you’re planning to dine inside, you might have to wait for a table to be available but seems like the turnover is pretty quick. Again, be patient.Food:Breakfast burger (not shown in photos) 👍👍👍French Omelette 👍👍👍Avocado Toast 👍👍👍*everything was plated beautifullyDrink:HK milk tea (served hot) 👍👍👍 right amount of sweetness and on point.Pastries:Brown butter Oatmeal cookie - best cookie I’ve ever had. Amazing flavor and texure even the day afterUbe Bundt Cake - very pretty but nothing specialFruit Tart - good nothing specialKouign Amann filled with raspberry - so goodCanelé - since it’s my favorite french pastry, they did it really well. Might be the best one I’ve had. Best eaten when it’s fresh.Service and staff were great including the food runners. The second order I politely made for additional pastries because I had to get more Canelés to go: I encountered a snobbish service lady who grabbed my pastry order and clearly was not happy when I bothered her for an additional order and this was right after she was helping another customer. Honestly, she kinda left a sour ending to the excellent experience I had here. Despite that, being a huge and extremely busy dining establishment, everything was excellent in quality. I’m definitely looking forward to visit again when I’m back in LA. Kudos to the chefs!

Comment: We had this place on our list for years after seeing it included in many LA must try lists and we finally made our way down for dinner and we just felt the entire experience was underwhelming, especially when you factor in the prices. The ambiance is amazing, it is a beautiful space and nothing can take that away but nothing else about the experience stood out as better than “ok”. The service was fine, the pacing of the courses was terrible. The first three things we ordered came in such quick succession the runners were reorganizing our plates to make it fit, very rushed, and then we waited about 30 minutes for the main. Our server was nice but it is not the level of service I’m used to when paying $150+ per person. I’ll list the items we ordered and they all have the same comment of being okay, in my opinion everything was under seasoned to an extent and could really use some salt: potato beignets, baguette with butter, truffle risotto, Liberty duck, fries. The strawberry tiramisu was fun, and the banana drink was very good. Overall I wouldn’t return for dinner at $150 per person, there is way better food in LA. If you have your heart set on going to see what the hype is it is a decent experience so it may be worth trying. We might try the cafe for breakfast at some point to see if the baked goods are as good as they look.

Comment: Food is delicious and great service. Definitely worth at least 20% tip, I usually leave less if is a place where I have to stand in line to ask for food but here they are telling you what everything is and give you recommendations if you ask. Also fast to bring food and serve you water plus check on you. Food tasted as good as it looks.

Comment: WOW. Just WOW.Ive heard so much of it already before coming here. Its one of those destination spots one must go when in LA. And it did not disappoint! My bf and I lined up here before it opened at 8am, and there was already another passionate family ahead of us. We couldnt help but eavesdrop on the dad passionately raving about this spot -- we learned that the building was originally built as Charlie Chaplins office (I fact-checked this), and that their quiche is a must have! Building up our anticipation even more, at 8am sharp, the exciting dad started to gently pull the unlocked door. It was HILARIOUS, as if he was a kid and the door hes pulling was the entrance to Disney World. My bf and I were joking that we doubt the staff members ever need to set alarms to actually open the door, because someones probably going to pull on the door at 8am sharp daily. After a friendly staff unlocked the door, we were greeted with a warm good morning. Soon after, our eyes were stuck by a gorgeous treasure island of pastries. Absolutely mesmerized like how Little Mermaid feels the first time stepping in a human castle, my bf and I were just in awe and couldnt stop taking pictures. After we picked our pastries, the host had us order with him before letting us seat ourselves. When walking to our seats, our eyes just couldnt move away from the huge open kitchens lining both sides of the establishment. How wonderful! We ordered shakshuka, shrimp and grits, a bacon steak, two pastries, coffees, and obviously a quiche. The dishes were so good and every calorie consumed was worth it here. Its definitely one of the best food and beverage experiences Ive had, and I work in food PR in New York City. Ill be thinking about this place.

Comment: Wow, this place is top-notch. The food was amazing. The drinks were unbelievably tasty. And the food was equally as good. Everything that came to the table was very tasty. The wait staff hostess bartender, everybody in there was very friendly and great to be around. The atmosphere is unique has a lot of character and really a great place to have dinner. I would highly recommend this for date night or casual lunches. The vibe is upscale. They have valet parking there is also street parking.

Comment: Very very popular spot for dine in breakfast and take out bake goods. Both forms the same line and moves quickly and lots of seatings inside. We have been back for 2 straight days and found parking in the residential public street parking behind the restaurant. Menu item changes often and bake goods are just a plenty to choose from and almost freaking out for feeling we are holding the line (fickle minded beware). Food is well prepared and service is fast and efficient. Apparently lots of pre-ordered pies pick up for Thanks Giving !!Highly recommended !!

Comment: Customer service from the valet to the cashier needs to improve: 6/10. The valet guys were the first impression, and they failed since they were rude.Waiting time with NO reservations allowed: We waited in line for around 10 mins to approach the cashier. You order before being seated and choose your seats. I heard you could go straight to the counter to call main dishes if you dont order cakes/bakery ( dont take my word, please double-check with them). Since there were people in line and it was my first time, I just observed and saw a couple of people go straight in, and I thought they cut the waiting line.Space: pretty big, and they have different areas (front with window views or in the middle, the bar, back, and outdoor seating when you go to the back of the restaurant near the restroom). They also have an area where kids can learn how to bake.Decorations: beautiful with French style and impressive area at the kitchen/cooking area.Best place to sit? Front at the windows or the middle of the restaurant to enjoy the ambiance with natural lights and open space. We ordered: a Belgian Waffle and added some eggs and bacon steak. Also, a slide of cheesecake for dessert, and it was greasy and middle sweet. Basic, but you can get more suggestions from Yelps or photos. The demographic that surprised me was lots of Korean and other Asians more than group since Im Asian, and it made me wonder if this place is Korean-owned or what? LOL. I will look into it since Im curious now. It might be a spot for cute photos or check-in :DDress code: When we saw and arrived at the location, we were a bit concerned about how we dressed since we got comfy clothes since it was cold, but some people dressed up. General, people dress; differently, I guess, so its not a big deal if you arent here a look decent enough as long as the food is good, right? So go for it!

Comment: An early morning touchdown in LA for a day trip called for breakfast before diving into our program. During our search, Republic Cafe came up highly popular and recommended. Expected heavy early morning LA traffic would not deter us from trying this out, instead of going for a quick bite at a fast food place.First, the pastry display right at the door, gets your palates doing “get me, get me” 😅 See picture. We ordered our pastry packed in boxes for our hosts. We, of course, got to taste them too! Lol!We placed our breakfast orders. I went with the Quiche of the Day and my daughter did the avocado toast. Being breakfast, we had hot chamomile and mint teas, respectively. I needed to be calm to deal with LA traffic! Lol!Service was terrific: quick and efficient. Wait staff were extremely friendly but professional. The food hit the right notes and gave us the right start for a day that turned quite busy later on.The busyness of the Republic Cafe, especially early in the morning, is a great testament to the quality of food and service. We loved the rustic style of the place: from interior decor to table pieces. The bar is well stocked.Any time I return to LA, this place will be on my list!

Comment: The restaurant had a nice decoration and mood. The seating was a bit cozy and tight squeeze. The presentation of the food was excellent, but I am not sure that the price worth the quality and amount of the food. I liked their shrimp. It was a tiny shrimp, but tasted delicious. They charge you 4% service fees to pay for their employees health insurance. On Top of the tip I assume.

Comment: Went for Brunch, it was a long line so mentally prepare to wait ~40 min during prime hours. The line goes quicker if you dont plan on grabbing pastries but theyre almost the best part!Brunch was good, the menu is quality over flair, everything on the menu sounds basic (i.e regular breakfast) but the quality of ingredients and execution more than make up for it.

Comment: Street parking still readily available before 930am but after that it’s fills up quite fast. Valet parking is provided just before the restaurant for a small fee. The restaurant is quite lovely and the dining area is bright and welcoming. When you walk in all the pastries catch your eye and there’s a lot to choose from. Food is generally good and the coffee is strong. Service is best described as brutally efficient. The staff are there to deliver the food, clear them and nothing much else. They will quickly turn the table around so the next set of guest can take a seat. Great in its own way I guess.

Every ingredient has its own flavor and when you combine them all in one bite, it’s like a symphony. Pastries are flawless. We picked several different kinds and they are all top-notch. We came 5 mins before they open, there was already a line outside(weekday). The quiche was average but definitely tasty. I also liked the matcha bunt cake - it was super crisp and tasty. Finally the cream cheese with smoked salmon pastry was good too!I liked the aesthetic here / super clean and prettyBad:They do run out of different items so quick. Comment: This scoring might surprise those of you whos tried this place, so Ill immediately give the reason for such a mediocre rating: the ceiling leaked! While LA isnt a particularly rainy city, eating in the main hall while having rain drip down to your food and drinks is... Not a particularly pleasant experience. If I were to judge purely on the food experience and on normal days this place doesnt have much to say except for being quite excellent, well furnished and comfortable to have brunch in. Unfortunately, I cant recommend this place whatsoever for any rainy days. Hopefully the can fix the roof leak soon.

Comment: Overall a wonderful experience! They were very accommodating from the beginning when we were running late to our dinner reservation and we were seated very quickly afterwards. The ambiance is a beautiful relaxed vibe that certainly feels like you are outdoors. Can get a tad noisy. The food and service overall were great. We got the baguette with pan drippings, lettuce salad, scallops, grilled prawns, and duck. The warm baguette was delicious - though I wish they had served it alongside the salad so I didn’t have to stuff myself with bread first until we finished all the bread… so I was already a bit full to fully savor and enjoy the rest of the dishes. The salad was very delicious! The avocado slices in there were the perfect texture and freshness. The scallops were good, but I thought could have used a bit more searing. The prawns were so tasty and I loved the slightly charred taste - however not a personal fan of the prawn eggs that were attached to all the prawn pieces (some folks may love them, just not my thing). The duck was good, but didn’t think it was remarkable, and again my personal preference was for it to be cooked a little bit more (and maybe I should’ve said that to the waiter previously so I don’t fault them for it).Overall a pleasant and casual vibe, great place for date nights.

Comment: I have been to their brunch previously and had a good experience so I wanted to try their dinner service and was very glad that I did so. It is definitely more casual and fair in price compared to other restaurants close by and think that some other reviewer‘s are mixing it up with more fine dining establishments based on some of their comments. I have always had a great experience here and the food is delicious for breakfast and for dinner. It’s a very well-known place so it can get busy but that also adds to the charm since inside it’s really open with tall ceilings. Parking can get tricky in that area depending on day and time but I have always been able to find neighborhood parking within a few blocks at very worst. We started off the meal with the Santa Barbara Spot Prawns and they were delicious. The brown Normandy butter and the lemon mixed really well and made a really nice sauce for it. Next we followed up with the Munak Ranch Heirloom Tomatoes and that was perhaps my favorite dish of the night. It was extremely fresh and only slightly acidic and tasted like I was eating a bite of spring in winter. Next came the Sweet Corn Agnolotti and it was a small portion but it went very fast. I don’t usually order corn dishes so this was a nice change for me. For the entrée I chose the Tare-Grilled Short Rib and it was 4/5. I prefer my short ribs to be more tender and this one was a bit more dense than I like but still I ate every bit of it.Overall a great experience and I would suggest to anyone. I would not suggest it as a birthday, anniversary, or important work dinner because it’s not really designed for that. But for a date, dinner with friends or family, or a casual work dinner it would be perfect.

Highly recommend going here for breakfast or brunch, especially if you have a sweet tooth!Hands down, favorite dessert that we had was their Black Sesame Pastry. Sooooo delicious with floral accents and cream. Totally delicious. Another favorite was the Coconut Lime and Passion Fruit Tart--very sweet and tropical and paired well with some tea. They usually have a line so a little bit of a wait sometimes, but you pay and seat yourself. Comment: It was good. My husband thought the duck was among the best hes tasted, and that is a big deal. I thought the food was good. It wasnt the absolute best. The service was a bit slow at the beginning. We were 30 minutes early for our reservation at 5:30, and the restaurant opens at 5:30. We were the first ones there. But others who just showed up were seated very quickly, while we were told to wait. So we waited. Then others showed up and were seated right away again. I also did not know that the reservation was for outdoor seating, so I made the mistake of asking to sit inside. And that took another good amount of time. I was frustrated. Little details or lack thereof annoy me. Other than that, it was fine.

Comment: Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. République does not disappoint and lives up to its hype. The steak is cooked perfectly and the duck is tender and paired well with sweet caramelized peaches. Our waitress recommended the bread and butter and Im so glad we took her up on her suggestion. The butter is flown in from Normandy and adds flavor and creaminess to the rich crispiness of the baguette.Service is top notch. The only thing that I didnt like was the Japanese highball cocktail. Too much soda water diluted the drink, and the overall flavor profile was a bit bitter.

Comment: Brunch at République is always the best — a must for both locals and visitors. The line can be long at times, finding seating can be a little chaotic, and the food and service can be quite slow, but it’ll definitely be worth it! The vibes and food are amazing. The mushroom toast has a wild blend of textures and flavors. To complement a crunchy, crispy toast, fluffy and light scrambled eggs are delicately placed on top. The mushroom toast was flavorful and very rich. The avocado toast was also very good and lighter than the mushroom toast. I love how it wasn’t just plain avocado, and the balance of the seasonings were just right. The cheesecake was the perfect way to end the meal. The basque cheesecake was so rich, creamy and delicate at the same time. The brown butter oatmeal raisin cookie was also so good. I highly recommend the pastries and desserts!

Comment: Dinner at Republique was a great experience. The server was very friendly and gave us great suggestions on the menu. For starter, the baguette was fresh and crunchy from the outside & soft from the inside. The butter was also very good! The tomato salad had some fresh ricotta, different types of tomatoes, melon, & BASIL (really made a difference for me) and it all just tasted so fresh. Great meal starter! The Campanelle was definitely a favorite. Pasta & lobster were Fresh & flavorful. I enjoyed every bite! The Liberty Duck was my least favorite but to be fair it wasn’t a bad order. Just not my cup of tea. Also the place is so aesthetically pleasing. I loved the interior and the sunlight coming in the middle of the space.I would totally come again. Comment: It’s one of the most widely known restaurant for tourists. I didn’t make a reservation so I had to just walk in to get a table. But the space is quite huge so there was nothing to worry about! The break is from 3 to 5:30 so be aware of it. We sat by the oven and the atmosphere was great. We could smell the breads baking and also the butter and everything. We ordered a egg toast with uni, octopus salad, two kinds of pastas and a roasted chicken. All dishes were great and nothing let us down! The service was great and everything was just perfect.

Comment: Brunch - Everything about this place is stellar. The atmosphere is picturesque, the staff is friendly, the dishes are beautiful and the food is delicious. One of if not THE best brunch I’ve had. Salmon Benedict, farmers market fruit, French toast, and even the coffee were all tops and super fresh.A comment on the wait. You get in a line to order and then find a seat. I find this kind of waiting to be a lot better than waiting for a table. The tables turn faster and the line keeps moving. I waited about 20 minutes in line on a busy Saturday.
