Comment: I had ordered Red Bay coffee beans online a few times, and hadnt especially liked how my coffee turned out. I am pretty particular. I want to support a local, black-owned roaster, so I went to the roastery, and Nasr came out. We talked about how I like my coffee, the varietals I favor and how I make it. He guided me to a blend and made recommendations on the grind and water temp, and asked that I email him with results! Great service and Ill be back!

Comment: Saw a girl on tiktok talking a bit of smack about this place so wanted to see it for myself. I was in the area visiting a family friend and we decided to pop in. I’m so glad we did. Lovely staff, lovely coffee and an incredible atmosphere ! Really recommend their batch brew it’s so smooth :)

Comment: I used to be loyal customer for Red Bay Coffee, but my recent experience of purchasing coffee beans from their website totally disappointed, in a way I will never ever purchase any stuff from this brand. TLDR - their shipping is extreme delayed and no communication from customer service.Timeline:Sep 10: order 3 bags of coffeeSep 17: I only received 2 bags of coffee, report to their customer service email on the same day.Sep 26: Got response from them after I sent over reminder TWICE. First time when they replied, they even didnt read my email, simply saying that my order is delivered. I need to re-specify my request again they finally understand what happened.Sep 28: Carrier shows that package is damaged and need to contact sender.Oct 3: As of now, NO RESPONSE from red bay coffee.I spent so much time in communication and end up I decided to spend 2 mins to dispute from bank and got my $$ back. Is it worthy for all of the communication, just to ask for 20 bucks? Coz I dont want to loss hope to one of my favorite local coffee roasters. But this is beyond my limit, I completely disappointed, and want to share my experience to warn the future customer who wanna purchase coffee beans from their website.

Comment: I’ve been a Red Bay customer for a while now and have visited all three locations in Oakland. This location is by far the worst and it has gone downhill for the past 6 months now.My mochas are watery, and same goes for the other lattes. I would highly advise anyone coming here to instead to go their headquarters location .2 miles away since they still make the coffee and lattes decent over there.

Comment: This is our go to for whole bean coffee, and the one we consistently send to friends as gifts. We have tried most of the roasts sold here. Im happy with the decaf option that Im left with for showing up too late in the day once all the other goods are gone (no sarcasm just a warning if you dont like decaf). I try a new coffee every couple weeks, but always come back here. Good for people who like traditional dark roasts. Worth every penny!

Comment: I dont handle caffeine very well, but I do like the taste of coffee. I regularly buy their Ocho Libre decaffeinated roast. I make it at home using my Aeropress. Its pretty good.Ive bought from a number of local coffee roasters. This is among the better of them. Thats why I keep going back.I also used them as a sit-down café, back when people still did that. Hopefully that kind of thing will come back somewhat soon. Im sort of sick of spending so much time at home. Nonetheless, I do like the control and experimentation and perfection-chasing involved in making my own coffee.

Comment: Incredible...I have always drank esspresso, being a chef for work purposes on early or late assignments, so I respect coffee but never considered myself a coffee drinker. But being a chef we speak flavor profiles ect, so easy transition if one would want to. I tried one of my first indi/micro roasters Augies in the IE of SoCal few months ago, and I instantly knew I would try a local roaster wherever I go from now on, I would indiscriminately goto star-bigbucks or dunkinNopenutes, but for now on only in absence of a local roaster or when expands started truely local. Ive since tasted many strands and roast of beans. Red bay Blew Augies away. I ordered their coffee and esspresso. Tasted each seperate. With and without sweetener and light cream. They provide you with soda water to refresh your palate. Real China is their plate and cupware. Very contemporary modern casual artsy approachable sophisticated vibe. Love it. Camt wait to see the sattelite stores. I will return and will be ordering beans, Im a fan. Great Job Redbay, service at counter was great. Staff knowledgable. And if I see the owner or whoever that was teaching that lil girl of hers whatever skills she was that day again in proper fashion Im going to throw all of my money at Redbay. Great atmosphere staff looks very happy, and roasting live in living color. Great brand and quality Starbucks cant touch this..

Comment: It was so dope! Easily one of the best coffee spots in the Bay. Such a unique and empowering aesthetic. The Vietnamese Cold brew is on point. If youre looking for friendly, helpful staff then this is an excellent choice and I highly recommend Red Bay. Also has a lot if IG worthy photo spots. Service is quick and accurate. Its also cool to see the coffee beans being ground up!

Couldnt find the entrance from the first time and headed to the wrong entrance (some sort of warehouse entry with barrels all around). There was also a very friendly dog without a leash setting in front of the entrance and honestly didnt feel very comfortable to get in or even be around him.

Comment: If you love quality coffee, go to Red Bay! Their coffee is fantastic and the most important reason I give this place 5 stars. Their beans are reasonably priced given the quality (a little pricier than Peets but not by much). Because the beans are so good I usually get a drip coffee (I like to really taste the beans) but on occasion I go for an espresso based drink and always enjoy it. The space is really nice. Its spacious and airy and has that industrial chic feel to it without being pretentious. The vibe of the place leans Oakland hipster but is pretty chill. No one looks down their nose at you if youre not wearing black plastic glasses. Baristas are friendly here.

Comment: Amazing huge airy coffee shop with awesome decor. I was in the area and had been meaning to try it out, so happy I did. They make syrups in house so I got a candied yam oat latte and it was amazing! For milk alternatives they had soy, almond, and oat from what I remember. They didnt have much food but I did see a few pastries and little salad containers.

Comment: Saw a great South African foriegn film afterhours entitled, Five Fingers for Marseilles. The coffee was as good as any Starbucks or Philz, but what gives this place a perfect rating is the sense of community and the ambience. The setup of this coffeeshop for a film and the space is really well-put together and utilized to its optimal. I get the impression that the owner(s)/management are/is very engaged with independent film makers and participates in civic duty both locally & abroad. This place was a breath of fresh air to be at and see and i would certainly return here again.

Comment: Came here on a lazy Sunday for some coffee. Met the owner and his co-owner Grayson, a super friendly and gently doggy that loves to greet everyone that comes in. I tried the charcoal latte that was just a bit too sweet for my taste, but very interesting nonetheless. The Vietnamese cold brew on the other hand is very interesting for all the right reasons. I would definitely come back in the future, but will probably just stick to the regular latte. 😀😅
