Comment: Love this place. One of my favorite Berkeley coffee shops. Always clean and many seats near power plugs. The staff is pleasant, and so are the other customers. I feel my backpack is safe at my seat while away using the bathroom or getting a refill. I also like the menu - particularly the egg white breakfast sandwich. Most Peets’ have this, and I’m always surprised at how fast and yet still tasty it is. It’s my go-to anytime I missed breakfast.

Comment: When I lived closer I went to this location all the time to work remotely. They have quite a few small cafe tables for 2 people to sit at around the edge of the cafe, most with a window view. There is a restroom. The staff are lovely. Free street parking down Alcatraz.

Comment: The quality of service has gotten atrocious. I’ve had to wait for my order today because the worker accidentally handed my food to someone else. It took them another time to heat up a simple blueberry muffin. Plus my drink didn’t taste like it should normally. This morning crew is super inefficient.If you can just order online and go and don’t order her at the store.The last few times I came here they said people they were short staffed and overwhelmed with too many orders.Update:I changed my rating recently from a 3 to 5 star. The new crew, management and the cashiers increased are wonderful. They remember my order and they always greet me with a smile or a, ”hi, Truth!” I really look forward to coming here because they’ve been consistently making sure the coffee tastes just as it should (I’ve had coffee that tasted too sour or like the bottom of the barrel old grind).There’s a more diverse crew which I really like. They seem more organized and they’ve reduced the lines. Great job. 5/26/2022.

Comment: I dont go to Starbucks, and dont drink coffee. I like the environment of Peets but the only reason why I came was the Milk and Green Tea Frappe or whatever that creamy matcha drink was where you could really taste the earthy bitterness of the matcha. Then they did something with the amount or quality of the matcha and it tastes like any other sugar and cream drink so I stopped going. So other than that, its a nice place to meet friends, I suppose.

Comment: Ya know, I was surprised to have such a chill time there. I dont really drink coffee so I didnt buy anything while I was there . But i kept ne a few dollars on me cause I was expecting them to say that I have to buy something or leave. It was raining outside and all I really wanted and needed was to charge my laptop and phone . An d work in ny website ( lykesb.com). And yall I was pleasantly surprised cause no staff ever bothered me or scowled at me or nothing and as a extra added bonus . They were playing some good classical music . Which really soothed my soul. And before I knew it I wound up staying g all day working . Pleasantly. Even when it started to get a bit crowded. ( I truly hate crowds). But this time I was able to deal with it in high fashion and u real7zed it was because the way they had the tables laid out . Even when its crowded. I still had my 20 feet and was able to still move. And also. Who could get angry when Beethoven us playing. Ya peets us doing they thing real well. It seemed like a place where rich middle class, college students and even a few homeless can chill together and have no problems. Cause peets gas subliminally put everybody in a pleasant mood. I will be going back thats for sure.The smell if coffee in the place can be a but over powering. Maybe . But that also gas to do with ice never been a serious coffee person. O.k. thats it thats my review. I have know idea why i do these things sometimes.
