Comment: Ive been coming here for years whenever im in town and the service and quality has always been great. However, today it took almost 30 minutes to get two lattes, even tho the place was almost empty. They were busy filling online orders and ignoring the people who actually order in person. The place was almost empty, but virtually packed.

Comment: My favorite coffee shop in Montclair, hands down! I don’t know his name, but the manager is always there keeping the place chugging along and pitching in. They always get my mobile order out super fast, or if I need to order in person, I never wait more than 5 minutes. Love this place.

Comment: Karen’s daughter “Becka the Barrista” lied today. Not only did she assume I was Latina and called me Maria but she lied about the delay of my hot chocolate.It took this site 20 minutes because I even went outside to use the restroom in this mini plaza.I asked what took my order long and had people who were in line before me get their order. Becca told me they were mobile orders and I said no, that man was right behind me. Becca made an excuse and said the Black Tie was easier to make. Easier than a hot chocolate with Oatmilk? Lol..She could have just told me they forgot instead.I would give the cash register attendant 5 stars separately if I could.This is a rating pertaining to just today’s order only.I will modify it hoping they read this review and be more aware of 1 persons action affecting the entire environment and business of this particular location.

Comment: A cute Peets nestled between a fabulous bakery and a well-loved restaurant. They dont have much indoor space and seating but there are plenty of tables outside. This location gets a ton of action from cyclists who head up Tunnel, the tennis club, Claremont folks, and others so it is always bustling in the AM.

Comment: Store number two, a hopeful Outpost and what I am loosely referring to as Domingo Street Mall, a 1970s era construction with a walkway that leads from the parking on Claremont avenue, all the way through to the tennis courts at the Claremont hotel, this place, though now largely dormant, like many other Berkeley alternative hippie style malls, was once a thriving hotbed of culinary activity, and remains a great place to meet people, sweethearts, or family members, and you can sit and sip coffee, or get breakfast at Rick and anns, while surrounded by nice greenery, as you watch people play tennis across the street at the Claremont tennis club. Coffee here is standard, as the baristas are usually brand new, and in training, but generally speaking it is an acceptable level of Peets coffee. The pictures you see are of the entire mall and not just Petes.

Comment: An excellent Peet’s location. Parking can be tricky and the other stores there like the bakery can have a huge line around the corner but Peets is available. They have the order ahead feature and lots of cute little benches and places to sit and eat. Love this spot. Staff is very nice too.

Comment: This morning I had exactly 20 minutes for a quick coffee before a business appointment. I entered the Peets Coffee shop. One customer was at the cash register, while only one was waiting. I estimated there was an opportunity to quickly grab a coffee before the appointment. I waited for my turn, and I placed an order for a latte and waited. After 14 minutes, the people behind the counter were still chatting, and no indication that my latte was a concern. I decided to leave the coffee shop without the latte in order not to miss my appointment. I fully understand that there are times when the workers are overwhelmed by the number and variety of orders. This was not the case. I believe that customer service is fundamental for every business, and what I experienced was a terrible case of customer service.

Comment: My first visit to Peets. I loved it. The coffee seems more stronger than Starbucks. It was delicious and well made. Very busy place. I dont think its a place to sit and talk or do work on your laptop. Too many people at this location, to much activity!! But the coffee is exceptional so you must try it. You will be amazed.

Comment: Coffee and treats are great. But, this location is so disorganized that every time I go in, I end up leaving with a headache. There is no clear indication of where to stand for placing an order as opposed to picking one up.Additionally, in my experience, it more often than not that the communication between the order taker and the people producing the order is flawed. Anything more complicated than the most basic of orders is usually messed up.

Comment: Same as other Peets. I used to work in this location. I noted that everything was clean. The coffee urns and espresso machine had recently been wiped down. The pastry case was clear of smudges and full of treats. The barista made my drink in a quick and efficient manner, without a trace of cynicism for my decaf soy latte (it was late in the day!). The condiment area was free of spills and well stocked. A mix of business professional, aging Berkeley-ites and young people were the clientele when I went in at 5:30pm on a Monday afternoon.

Comment: One of the six original Peets locations, Domingo has a coffee blend named after it. The coffee is a lot thinner than it was when I first discovered Peets, but the beans and the espresso are hard to beat. This is a great location, a short walk up from the historic Elmwood shopping districts good restaurants, with a super bakery next door (in case Peets fine pastries arent enough). The lovely and historic Claremont Hotel is right across the street. Parking can be tricky. There is a small lot to the west.
