Comment: Loquat, similar to Stereoscope, is clearly a coffee lover’s café. When there are multiple espresso and pour over options from the get, you’re in the right place. When I visited I got their summer blend espresso (Guatemalan + Ethiopian). It was close to closing so they were out of pastries, but that’s alright. The baristas were all friendly and working hard at fulfilling orders and cleaning up shop. The branding of the space was great, from all the yellow details (their brand color) of the interior, down to their cup sleeves and coffee bags (of which I left with one). This is surely an LA café that I will return to the next time I’m in town.

Comment: Does not live up to the hype. It’s a fine cafe, but after waiting in line, dealing with the crowd, paying the expensive price for the coffee, I left feeling very underwhelmed. One of their signatures, the Marscapone, was a bit too sweet and gave me the impression that I could have just made it at home. One argument for this cafe is that they use good bean. In that case, maybe avoid their signature drinks. The space itself is uninspired, making this cafe overall lack a sort of “it” factor of any kind.

Comment: This was a very nice shop. Love the aesthetic! As I was waiting in line I was seeing their beautiful drinks. It looked so fancy like it came straight out of a magazine! Loved the atmosphere.If this wasn’t a small business I’d ask for my money back I didn’t even drink more than one sip (if you’re wondering why it looks emptier, it’s because I asked for no ice). The flat white tasted like water and oatmilk. I actually like to taste my coffee so I was disappointed by that. Plus it was a lot of coffee grounds in my cup. 🥺

Comment: The flat white fell a bit flat. It tasted too watered down and the milk was not very creamy. The Chai latte was too sweet for my liking. We came in the afternoon and they were already sold out of pastries. So if you want to get some food, its probably better to go earlier.

Comment: Loquat, as mentioned in their bio, is a private label of the beloved Kumquat coffee. I first stumbled upon this place (December 5, 2023) after initially trying to find parking at Kumquat dtla location, street parking was impossible so I told my partner let’s try out Loquat instead. At Loquat, free parking is available along the Main Street, might have to park a couple blocks down, which isn’t a problem since the neighborhood seems calm imo. Upon entering Loquat Coffee, we were greeted by the employees, which might not seem significant to some but it honestly makes a difference. We felt welcomed right off the bat. I ordered the Guatemala Antigua pour-over and my partner ordered the ceremonial matcha iced latte. The pour- over was well executed, to the barista who did the job thank you. The coffee grounds were not scalded at any point. The precise temperature allowed the coffee grounds to elicit the notes of dark chocolate and green apple. The coffee was smooth and enjoyable at every sip, as it was not acidic. My partners review for the iced match latte was 8/10. She prefers the ones prepped at Kumquot coffee, specifically dtla location. If you’ve been reading up to this point, there is additional parking on the streets where the houses are situated. If you can, try to opt out of to-go-cups, enjoy the coffee in a mug or glass. Would I return to Loquat? Of course, I will continue to try out the pour-overs and the other items offered. Would I recommend Loquat? Yes, I would definitely, whether it’s to family or friends. Give this place a try, you can’t go wrong with Kumquat or Loquat.

Comment: Low-key, coffee at Loquat in Cypress Park lived up to the hype. They roast their own beans and have a variety of different espressos on the menu that you can choose from, today including an SL-28! My oat milk latte with their regular espresso blend was smooth, balanced, and delicious. The standalone espresso was served in a chill glass alongside a shot glass of sparking water and this is a must-order for any coffee lovers. I recommend going with one of the more fruity coffees on their menu for this option.They have a small bar for seating inside, and more outdoor seating is available. I was able to find free street parking in the neighborhood nearby.The interior aesthetic is yellow and black and I loved it. Our baristas were friendly, efficient, and calmly handled the consistent line that went out the door - they’re very popular in the community!

Comment: An amazing little gem of a coffee house in the Cypress Park Neighborhood of Los Angeles. Love that they have usually a trio of espresso’s to choose with your drink. My regular favorites are cortado or cappuccino with a Brazilian espresso. For the longest time I was missing out on their signature drink the Marscapone. Finally I went for it and it the discovery was amazing; liquid dessert delicious with rocket love from the espresso. Great friendly staff. A highly recommended stop for any Angeleno or or visitor coming thru.

Comment: Recommend to coffee lovers. I try a cup of americano whenever I visit a new place for the first time. I also tried their americano when I visited here for the first time. Its taste was such a good for me. They looked roast beans by themselves. They have their own bean brand, and it shown that LOQUAT is the private label by KUMQUAT COFFEE. I would like to visit here again soon to try other coffees.

Comment: Fantastic coffee! beautiful space. the black and yellow everything is so cool, and so are the baristas.we tried the mocha, the chai and the mascarpone. they were all perfect. the mascarpone is a must-order when you visit, but recognize that this is more of a dessert drink than anything. its kind of like a melted milkshake.oh, and they have notneutral cups! always a plus.

Comment: Have been wanting to stop by for a while and decided to on a Saturday morning.I’ll be coming more often.The best latte I’ve had hands down. Not bitter at all. Smooth. Fairly priced for what you get.Very yummy Ham and Gruyère croissant.Pleasant staff that are all into coffee.Nice atmosphere and beautifully and minimally decorated. Comment: Asked for drip coffee at 2pm. They didn’t have that, but offered a pour over at almost twice the price. I asked if they could brew more drip as I would stay awhile. No, they couldn’t.Seating inside was fairly uncomfortable with a bench and four high top chairs at the bar.I did not find the experience to be worth the price.
