Comment: Completely random stop here due to my car thinking there was a charging station nearby. That said, Im so glad I did! They may have the very best hot and sour soup Ive ever had (SOOOOOOOO good) - and because they werent too busy, they pan fried the dumplings and made me a side of broccoli. The portions here are IMMENSE and while thats normally off-putting to me, here its delivered with love and generosity. Highly highly highly recommend!!! Also, given that its been a hard week, I continued to allow myself to have noodles, and the garlic noodles did not disappoint. Ill make it a point to come back sometime - definitely a good and easy stop en route to Tahoe from the Bay Area, too. If I had any recommendations, the chicken cilantro dumplings were oddly sweet and I would get another type of dumpling next time.

Comment: Me and my family go to the Elk Grove Hidden Dumpling House for the gluten free options. We went to this branch and it did not disappoint with the gluten free sweet and sour chicken and gluten free fried rice. I love this place and it is great that they have gluten free options for my sibling who is allergic.I will say that I wish that the gluten free dumpling was the same as the Elk Grove store, here the chicken cilantro dumpling is pan fried but the other store it is steamed. The dumplings also came way after the other food, we had already had finished the food when the dumplings came

Comment: I witnessed two of the waitresses literally touching their noses and rubbing their finger back and forth against it. So gross, my food was overpriced and I was charged a gluten free charge? What did I get in place? Nothing but an extra charge.... sorry Hidden Dumpling House but this isnt right.Food is very liquidity and flavor is ok. I asked if the food was MSG and food flavor additive free before ordering, but I think this was false because my stomach is already reacting to the MSG. I am extremely sensitive to MSG and other such addictives similar to it.Atmo was ok, a bit stuffy, and strange placement of seating near the counter where you order is cramped.Staff are nice just have poor hygienic habits.Food came out fast and was hot, which I like when my food is hot not lukewarm, so good job there.

Comment: Hidden Dumpling House is a cozy spot with great prices, amazing food, and hospitable staff.It wasn’t too busy when me and a couple friends stopped by, Thursday 5:40-ish. We had a super nice server who was very friendly and funny.We got the garlic noodles, kung pao chicken, and the pork+cabbage dumplings. I thought the price was very much worth it. The quality was great👍

Comment: UPDATE: Please fix your online ordering system, I am constantly receiving incorrect items that Ive ordered, particularly the vegetable fried rice. Also your in person menu is completely different than your online ordering menu which is very confusing. When you live far away and have to drive all the back because of a constant ordering mistake, it gets really frustrating. Especially when you turn off your phones so we cant contact you and theres no other way to get in contact.Definitely our new go-to! They have lots of vegan, gluten free options. If you are vegetarian, make sure you ask for no oyster sauce. We got the chow mein, veggie rolls, hot and sour soup GF, & fried rice GF and the portions were HUGE. Lots of food for what you pay. And its also really tasty. My husband who is celiac thought it was the best GF Asian food hes had ever. The people who work here are also super nice. It is pretty busy so try to join the yelp wait-list or expect a wait to sit down. The food does come out super quick. Theres a few outdoor tables if you take your pup.

Comment: I tried the takeout for the first time. The food is so good. The box was so full! I ordered the broccoli beef dinner with all fried rice. It comes with fried rice, chow mein, a entree, & egg roll. You can substitute with either fried rice or steamed rice. Everything was very fresh!! I will definitely be going there again!! This was nearly $20, which is worth paying because I could share with someone

The garlic noodles were flavorful, but the shrimp was $4 extra and we got four shrimp total. $1 per shrimp is ridiculous.I love XLB, but these ones fell flat for me. The dipping sauce and the soup inside had weak flavors. The XLB had chewy and sticky skin which made them stick together and break apart.Milk tea was also watery.The inside is beautiful, and so is all of the plating. They definitely put a lot of thought into the design.

Comment: Stopped by a quick and easy meal. The store is in the corner facing a park. The outside is decorated nicely with a beautiful mural. The moment you walk in you are welcomed and asked how large the party is and enveloped by a lovely smell.The service is quick and the food comes out steaming hot. There is a large selection of boba teas and some beer and tea. The restaurant serves dumplings and Chinese mainstays like noodles, chicken, and rice dishes. The chefs clearly care about their food and the flavoring of their fare.We ordered chicken and cilantro dumplings, shrimp siu mai, and xiao long bao. The xiao long bao was spiced with Chinese five spice so it was delicately sweet. The wrappers are sticky and soft.Highly recommend. The atmosphere can get a little crazy. The space is small so once a lot of patrons are seated it can get loud.

Comment: So glad we decided to try this place for lunch while out shopping in midtown. This place is cozy and the atmosphere was very inviting. We did not have to wait for a seat which was nice for a Saturday in midtown. The food was delicious and so fresh. We cannot wait to come back and try more items on the menu. We ordered the pork, shrimp and chives dumplings, garlic noodles and honey Walnut Shrimp. Everything came out pretty quick. Service was good and the food was excellent. I cant wait to return and try more of the menu.Just know, the restaurant is not very large. So you might be waiting for a table, but the tables turned pretty quick.

Comment: Was kinda excited to see some cool Chinese restaurants open in midtown. Unfortunately this one is another disappointment. Amazing service, atmosphere and location, but the one thing that most important to a restaurant, food, was significantly lacking.The dumpling skin is too gooey, the filling is very monotone flavor besides saltiness, seems like no spice at all. I don’t know what demographic they tried to cater to but that definitely not me.The beef noodle was just straight up canned tomato soup with lots of sugar and again, no spice. The beef - I don’t know what kind of beef they use, but I bite into a pure cold beef fat, it was just gross…. And the noodles…. It was not al dente at all like Chinese noodles should be.Overall, the food is not good or authentic at all. This place has so much potential tho, hopefully they can improve in the future. Otherwise Journey to the dumplings gonna take all the business away from them.

Comment: A friend and I went here when craving some dumplings. We had a mixed experience. tl;Dr - great food, not so great dining experience.For one thing, we tried to make reservations knowing the small space. We called ahead, about 15 minutes ahead asking if we can put our name on the wait list. They told us no, we had to be there in person, which was fine. But when we got there in person, they just put us on a wait list for 30/40 minutes.Then, while waiting those 30 and 40 minutes, we watched as upwards of 10 different tables sat empty both inside and outside the restaurant for long periods of time. A lot of people were really confused, as to-gi orders would walk inside and order at the register and sit down at the empty tables while they waited for their food, but other people on the wait list waiting to sit down where waiting for their turn to be called up.A small note about the space, too - It is way too small for the kind of service they get to both not take reservations and continue taking to go orders through the door. They have maybe 10 tables for seating inside, max, and about a half a dozen outdoors tables. This would normally make it feel intimate and cozy, but with the fast pace of the servers, the constant line going from the register out the door, it just makes the space seem cramped and hectic.When we did eventually get sat, we were ignored for the first 15 minutes. We were given water by a busboy right away, but we didnt even get our drink orders until we flagged down a waiter after watching her service tables had been sat after us.After all of this, though, things were great. Because the kitchen was slammed every time eight tables were sat at once, food came out fairly slowly - appetizers we had ordered came out at the end of the meal, for example. But it kind of created a more conversational vibe, my guess and I would share a single plate for about 5 minutes until the next plate would come out, etc. We made it work, but I know other tables were getting frustrated with the pace of things coming out - not everyone is interested in sharing all of their plates, and expected to receive all of their entrees for the entire table at the same time.Once the food got to the table though? Excellent. Easily some of the best Asian inspired food Ive had in a while. The smell inside the restaurant was heavenly - which sucked, sitting outside for 40 minutes smelling what we werent eating. But as we were eating? Every dish that came out of the kitchen was an inspiration, something new or interesting we wanted to try. Those special note were the garlic green beans which are apparently so popular they come out almost instantly. The sauce was perfect, the green beans cooked just so they were crispy but not soggy. We got a plate of chicken chow mein noodles, and my typically demure guest was literally eating some of them with her bare hands. We took leftovers home, and two days later the noodles were still better than some fresh chow mein Ive had in the area. We also got their sesame chicken, and it was so perfectly fried while still having the gooey sesame sauce on the outside. We both thought it could use a little more salt, so we put a couple dashes of soy sauce on top of them, but that was our preference. We easily would have gobbled that chicken up with our bare hands and no extra seasoning.The dumplings, though, we werent as impressed by. We ordered their special and some soup dumplings. Their special was chicken and mushroom, which was good but had a heavy 5 spice seasoning that seemed to overpower most of the other flavors. We also got pork and chive soup dumplings, but no soup dumpling spoons until we asked for them. And when we did try to eat them, the dumplings tore so easily that we werent able to really enjoy the soup. Still good, just not as impressive as the other food items we ordered, which was a surprise considering its a dumpling house.Will definitely order again, just probably take out.

Comment: Super yummy place my friend introduced me to! We had the pork shrimp chives dumplings, xiao long bao, and the king pao beef combo plate. Food was super tasty, came out quick, and the atmosphere was very nice. They have inside and outside seating which is cool especially because they get packed quick. Would definitely recommend! Editing to add that I went back and tried their spicy garlic green beans and Thai tea, amazing! Would def get both again.

Comment: The location is nice, near a park and they have a patio. Inside they have very thoughtful details for the atmosphere but definitely cramped/crowded. The wait was long but we wanted to try it out so we decided to wait and got seated. The dumplings were okay, ordered two different and couldn’t not figure out the difference between them At All. The noodle dish was served first and had spicy flavors, the pot stickers had a nice crunch to them. The pork bun took a very (very)long time to get to the table, ended up asking for it to be placed to go so we could free up the space inside for other people to enjoy the dinner and not hold up the table. My Thai tea was flavorful, I would order that again.

Most are sold in set quantity like ten or eight per type. The PSC, beef and PC were our favorites plus the pork buns.I’d recommend this place and it’s landed a spot on our rotation when in midtown.
