Comment: Dark hair barista with the hair ends dyed RED, working on 5/16/24 12PM. Get more training or get fired.Horrendous attitude. Remember that you are working in a customer-facing and customer service job. At least fake a good attitude for a 3-second interaction with your customer. Seems like there are many reviews for poor customer service at this location, I recommend Blue Bottle pay more attention to the types of people being hired. They make or break your brand image.

They used oat milk without asking me anything.I don’t like oat milk so I was disappointed that I had to drink something I don’t like although I paid a lot of money.

Comment: Egg bites are way more delicious than Starbucks’, but its $6 and a bit tiny.I tried the New Orleans NOLA latte, and it feels like it has oat milk in it. If you dont like oat milk, I would recommend a latte.

Comment: Pretty good coffee shop in the heart of the city. Very Spain inside but unfortunately there are not to many places to sit and the interior design is more on the industrial side, which is a bit weird although they might do this on purpose so people dont spend too much time inside. They have a few tables on the street, which is nice on a Sunday morning because otherwise the traffic makes it hard to enjoy a cup with some conversation.Their default assumption is take away so you need to ask for real cups of you want to avoid producing trash.

Comment: This was my first time going to Blue Bottle Coffee and it will be my last time. I went at 1:41pm and I was the only one in line so I am not sure why I had to wait so long to get help with my order but I noticed while I was waiting in line for over 5 minutes the guy behind the counter was so engrossed in his convo with the other coworker that they just ignored me because they saw I was waiting in line and the third finally came to help me at the register but she was not friendly at all and seemed to not want to be bothered. I looked around and the place was not busy so I am not sure why I had to wait so long and after I ordered my drink, it took almost 10 minutes for them to make my mocha. The guy and girl were so busy talking and gossiping that I became irritated and wanted to leave but I paid $7.25 for a drink that was not made very well and lukewarm to boot and all because the employees were too busy yapping away gossiping and forgetting a customer was actually waiting for their drink; very unprofessional. The cashier came off snobby and I felt like they thought they were too good to have their time wasted on actual paying customers. I honestly think Peet’s has better coffee and better customer service and even though Peet’s can get busy I never had to wait that long because employees were too busy gossiping. Lastly, I think Blue Bottle coffee is too expensive for what they are selling.

Comment: I bought a bag of coffee beans from target. Taste is smooth bold but not to strong. I used a coffee press and added alittle oat milk sprinkle of cinnamon its pretty good. If you can have a cup of coffee with out all the sugars and it taste good and not bitter...its good coffee. Now that Im aware this is a local business I will come in and try it out.

Comment: Must-go if you enjoy drinking black coffee. Best coffee I have ever had. The “Three-Africas” cold blew has a flavor profile of berry, grape, and a tinge of lemon. I can can tell it was recently roasted, ground that morning, and stored in an airtight container to prevent oxidation.Ignore the other reviews here that say the “coffee” is bad when they are ordering lattes that ruin the exotic, rare bean flavor with flavorings like sugars and creams (Yuck!). Good coffee is COFFEE: beans and water. They probably don’t know the difference between ground vs non-ground (can’t differentiate between oxidation) and watered down vs. strong tasting black coffee because all they ever taste is their artificial sweeteners, milk, and flavorings! Not sure what they were expecting at $6 a cup, perhaps that the cow was milked that hour for ‘freshness?’? LOL!Will definitely be ordering their Three Africas whole beans so I can grind and brew at home. 10/10.

Comment: This cafe is well placed in West Berkeley, away from the frenetic pace of University, with plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating to match. The floor to ceiling glass walls create a nice ambience and the bar-style service and pickup ordering process are quick and efficient. Only issue is sometimes the quality of the drink is lacking compared to other cafes in the area.

You can taste immediately that it’s not made from some cheap chocolate sauce (which many coffee shops use), the cocoa has a slightly sour hint, which I personally love, and goes perfectly well with the coffee. Comment: Ok this cafe is super famous near the campus so there are a number of fans for this place. I could see the reason why - they have good coffee and the place seems hip.There are two reasons for giving 3 stars. First, at least the coffee I ordered - New Orleans - was not that good for me. It seemed like the coffees ordered by others looked nice and smelled great so I think that I was just a bit unlucky in that I did not order something that would have fit my taste.Second, as a cafe-goer for studying, it was absolutely not a favorable place for working. There is no plug and the chair is not comfortable. I dont want a comfy sofa but just some chairs with at least a back.Let me update the first part after trying other menus but so far it was a bit hard for me to find some reasons to visit here again.

Comment: I’ve heard good things about Blue Bottle, and had high hopes for my first visit, but it was a very disappointing experience.It was Sunday afternoon, and they were clearly understaffed, with the person at the cash register trying to jump between taking orders and making pour-overs, with only one other employee there to help, getting frazzled with the long line of customers.They apparently made a mistake with my first pour-over because I watched them dump it and start over. The next attempt went fine, but then they somehow took the brewing green tea they were making for us, forgot about it, and put it on the counter behind them. Several minutes later, we had to ask them about it, and it was clear that they had lost track of who the green tea was for in the first place. As a result, it was overbrewed and way too strong. They didn’t seem particularly concerned about their mistake, perhaps because they were just trying to keep up with the rest of the customers.Hopefully, it’s just a one-off mistake, but if that’s their normal operating procedures, I can’t recommend it.

Comment: Its not that good. The cafe itself was very clean and had a minimalist design similar to Apple Stores so it may appeal to college students who want to study in a cafe with their Macbooks. The coffee itself however was stale and sour, I could have gotten complementary coffee from an auto repair shop and it would taste the same.

Comment: Very nice, modern looking place. Not too much seating or outlets, so I wouldnt spread out 10 books here for mcat studying or anything like that, but I would come here for like a 1:1 meeting or hangout. Coffee here is good too.
