Comment: This coffee spot seems to be an awesome shill spot to grab a quick cup of coffee or even stay awhile and get some work done. The space is beautiful and the Ube Latte (only thing I have ordered from there - so far) is delicious. Unfortunately I did not know that it did not have coffee inside of it but the barista asked me if I knew that after I already ordered and added in an espresso shot for free 👌🏽👌🏽♥️♥️. Great customer service!! Check this place out. Im sure everything is fantastic including the delicious looking food! The menu is pretty extensive!

Comment: Got their coffee for the first time as my husband and I were headed out for a roadtrip through the Sierra Nevadas. It was the perfect start to the trip. The latte and pastry I got were delicious and even my husband who isnt much into breakfast and nearly never gets coffee enjoyed his order! Friendly stuff and inviting interior. Worth a drive over the Bay bridge if youre in SF!

It happened that I study near by and this place is a saver for my stomach 😊I usually take half avocado toast - last time it was too little of Avocado though. I am wondering what is going on ? This is an Avacado toast and not a bread toast). However, the bread is delicious as well as coffee. Wide range of choice from classic to various tasty ones like Lavender latte.I believe they also have their own bakery and pastry is delicious and hopefully natural.Overall good service and atmosphere, just change your Avacado vendor)). Comment: An amazing local spot for coffee and conversation. I visited Oakland and a good friend and native insisted that we stop by. Im so glad we did!!! It has an awesome atmosphere and real baristas making real drinks. Our batista was cool, skilled and sociable. We had a great conversation while he made our drinks real time! In a world where coffee is made by machines, it was great to have the human touch!

Theyre also accommodating to a remote worker who is tired of being at the desk in a hotel. A few of us were posted up while working, sipping delightful coffees and teas. Lox & capers on a toasted everything bagel is my favorite.

Comment: My absolute favorite place for lunch! The best bagels Ive ever had came from here and they also serve excellent matcha lattes. The look of the cafe is the coolest thing ever. All decor is super neat and they always have art up on the walls for sale. The outdoor and indoor seating is great + right to a park area. The service is the best Ive experienced anywhere! Wait times are super reasonable even when busy, perfect for when youre on the go. Servers are always incredibly kind and helpful and often greet you with a smile :)

Comment: The selection here is super limited. When I review a coffee shop, I try and order something similar to my regular order (Blended Caramel Mocha) so I have a very familiar idea of taste. Here they didnt have blended which is normally fine, I just asked for iced. They gave me hot. They also didnt have caramel or anything similar, so when I asked for a vanilla mocha my server asked if I meant just a latte. When they knew what drink I was looking for. I had to spell it out a mocha with added vanilla flavoring.The coffee itself was good, nothing special but then again I couldnt get anything close to what I normally judge on. I also got avocado toast which was good. Nothing too special but very good. Ended up sharing with a friend.If you have a drink you know you want that isnt a basic espresso, look elsewhere. If your vibe is simple espressos then youre in a very good option coming here. Just dont expect anything super outstanding.

Coffee was good, I prefer my mochas to be a bit more like dessert but it wasnt bad at all, just not to my taste. I think next time I will just get hot cocoa with espresso. The cashier and barista were both very kind 🥰. Only negative feedback I can think of is my cup was a littttttle bit too full, but thats hardly a bad thing :) cute coffee art too

Comment: This place has so much potential but they drop the ball every time I go. First, they always run out of bagels at around 12pm even though they are open until 2pm. As that is their main food item, you’d think they’d start making more in order to not run out everyday… Second, their food/drinks are so expensive. Everything in this area is expensive but a lot of places have spectacular food. Here, the coffee and food are just meh. Lastly, they have no WiFi!!! They have a spacious indoor seating area and an appealing atmosphere to sit and do work, but it’s impossible unless you use your own hotspot.

Comment: I’ve been here a few times and the brewed coffee is solid, and they have a good variety of baked goods and sandwiches - including vegan and gluten free options.However, every time I’ve gotten a milk and espresso drink, (latte, cappuccino) the milk is consistently *extremely* overheated - turning eggy or even grainy (curdled), full of bubbles that quickly collapse instead of smooth, sweet, and glossy like well aerated milk - you can see the over aeration on the review photos that others have posted.They also do not have WiFi or outlets.

Comment: Awaken will always have a huge warm spot in my heart! Their coffee is perfect, theyve expanded their vegan donut selection, and they have acme bread which makes their toast and sandwiches out of this world. I LOVE that there is no wifi - it makes hanging and reading a book so delightful. They always have artwork on display and i recently bought a print version of a beautiful painting I found there. Staff are really kind and always welcoming. Great coffee-alternative drinks and lots of allergy friendly food options. Theres no wifi, so if youre working on your laptop be sure you can connect to your phones hotspot or youve downloaded what you need to work on so you can do it offline.
